Sea of Monsters!!!!

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Sea of Monsters!!!!

Sea of Monsters!!!!

*spoilers*

Okay, so, today I went to see Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters. It was, in my opinion, better than the first. It really didn't follow the book very well, but it had its good scenes.

So yes, first, Annabeth is BLONDE!!!!!!! Loved that fact.

It starts with backflashes of Luke, Annabeth, and Thalia when Thalia dies. I thought they did this scene REALLY well. It was really cool.

Then, when it gets to the present, I hated the way they portrayed Percy as an outcast, in Clarisse's shadow. Though Clarisse in my opinion was dead on. She did really well. Dionysus was really well played too, though I liked the Chiron from the first movie better. The way the bring in Tyson was a bit odd too. Percy is just randomly called to the Big House, then told, "Oh yeah, we just discovered you're not the only son of Posioden! You've got a cyclops brother!" Tyson didn't really look how I had expected either.

Another really big peeve I had though was that they acted like the Mist was like a perfume! You "apply" it make yourself look normal. That part was just weird.

Grover is not looking for Pan. I'm assuming he exist or something. He is kidnapped by Luke, because, appearently, only a satyr can find the Fleece. The Hippocampus looked really cool! I liked that, though the Princess Andromeda was a bit of a let down.

AND SILENA BEAUREGARD HAS ALREADY JOINED LUKE!!!! She is spotted on the Princess Andromeda though you hardly see her. That was another big peeve because she SUPPOSED to die a hero's death!

The whole Charybdis scene didn't happen like in the book, but it was still cool. Circi's Island, I'll admit, was a big let down. They combined her island with Polyphemus, and you get an amusment park with Polyphemus living in a cave that a rollar coaster leads into. Though it's funny when Percy and Annabeth start singing "It's a Small World."

But the biggest peeve of all was that in the beginning of the movie, PERCY GOES AHEAD AND RECIEVES THE BIG PROPHECY!!!! Then they actually RAISE Kronos then take him down again!

The Chimera is in this one. It goes and stings Annabeth when you think everything is over. Clarisse takes it out, and Annabeth nearly dies, but the fleece brings her back. The whole scene though, seemed rushed and a last minute thing. Like "oh we need to make someone almost die so do this." The whole movie didn't flow like the first, but it was still good.

The return of Thalia was similar to the book, and done pretty well. Thalia looks like Thalia, and seemed to act like her.

It was overall a pretty good movie. Not like the book, but if you, like me, can like the movie as the movie, and the book as the book, then you'd really like this. There are definitely some laugh out loud scenes that can make it worth it (most of which involve Clarisse). I really enjoyed it, and I REALLY REALLY hope they make The Titan's Curse!!!!

Btw, did anyone else know that an Artemis Fowl movie is in the planning?

It's not that bad. And I heard it did really well overseas. I still hope they make the rest of the movies!

Oh, so it's out. I knew it would come out sometime in August.  I better beg my parents to let me see it. What is it rated? I don't know if my brother

can watch it. ( He's seven years old.) When I watched The Lightning Thief, I was like, heck, this is noththing like the book! Although I think the book was better than the movie, I still like the movie. But, still, I mean, have you watched the Harry Potter movies?!?!?!

I sure hope they make the rest of the films, too! I'm going to wait until SoM comes out on DVD (I'm not a movie theater person) to check it out from the library, but I still want to see it. It can't be that bad, and I did enjoy The Lightning Thief.

@ Everinne:

I'm not really a huge theater person either. In fact, I hardly go. But every once in a while, a movie will come along that I REALLY want to see, so that'll be like my big yearly movie. I think the last I saw was Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 2. That just goes to show how often I really go. But yeah, I hope they make the rest too. I did like the first movie as well. And it really isn't that bad. It's actually pretty good.

I don't mind going to the movie theater, but I rarely ever go. Mostly because the movies they have are usually dumb shoot-em-up types. I have been going to the movies more recently, but two of the three movies I've been to see in a year and a half were for friends birthdays. Last March it was The Hunger Games(with friend) I went to see The Hobbit with my dad and uncle last December, and I saw Depicable Me 2(with friend). I did want to see Epic, but it's not in theaters anymore, so I have to wait until Netflix or Redbox gets it. I might go see Sea of Monsters soon. I'm curious to see if it's better than the first.

@ Lena:

So you've seen it? I thought it was pretty good. I think it might be all right for young children to see. There isn't really any bad language or innapropriate content in it, and it isn't really scary. Though, I can't remember what the rating is on it. What were your thoughts on it?

@ Blonde Heroines Rule: I thought the movie was awesome! I saw it with my friend ( we are

totally obsesed with greek mythology, and I bet we looked totally odd at theater the way we were

jumping for joy). But, my parents wouldn't allow Henry to see it so he ended up watching Planes,

insted. And with just his luck, we arived just as one of his friends was geting his tickets to Planes,

too. So, it all ended up swell!

Oh that's cool! I know I looked odd. I was dressed as a Camper, and one of my friends said they dressed as a Huntress to see it! So yeah, we're BIG into this series too. I'm simply addicted to Percy Jackson.

I saw that movie, too! It was absolutely amazing. I loved the graphics, the plot, the actors, everything was perfect! It has me in stitches the entire time. I loved the ending, when Thalia came back from her tree. But I thought it was a little annoying that it ended on a cliffhanger. Anyway, the movie was awesome!
