I had been

I had been meaning to create this thread for a long time, but I went to my friend's house last night to see Tangled, and I enjoyed it so dang much that I finally sat down to create this thread about...

Our favorite Disney animated films!

My top top favorite has got to be The Many Adventures of Winnie-The-Pooh (I'm a notorious Pooh fan), because besides the great music and characters, it's also very, very close to the book (unlike Peter Pan, which tore the plot into shreds). There is something so very cute and charming about Pooh that isn't really that "Disney," if you get my meaning.

Second favorite is The Lion King, because, A, the voices are awesome--Mufasa (James Earl Jones) is Darth Vader, hello, and Scar (Jeremy Irons), who is very British and evil--B, the plot is very...human, and C, there are animals. Plus, the love story was subtle and touching, and altogether very classic.

Third favorite is definitely Tangled, which I was really surprised by. Flynn Rider was the most hilarious character I've come across in a long time, and the horse Maximus had me almost crying from laughter. The near-end was really tragic, but it had a happy ending, which every fairy tale needs. The love story was realistic (though it did get a little corney at one point), and the lizard? Best. Sidekick. Ever. And I liked how the villain kind of died by the use of what she had coveted, proving that evil does get its just deserts.

What is your favorite Disney animated film (or top three)?

Well I don't really watch movies much but my little sister does. Let me go ask her.

Okay I asked her (my sister is 8 years old) and she said her favorite movie is any Barbie movie. So I asked her what her favorite Disney movie was and I don't think she knew what I was talking about. So I gave her a list of three Disney movies I know of and she said her favorite is Tangled. I would have said what my favorite Disney movie is but like I said I don't watch movies (I spend my day learning, reading, and writing).

Tangled or Brave or The Princess and The Frog because those three princesses broke the mold.

Does Tim Burton count as Disney? Because The Corpse Bride is fantastically creepy and it's my favorite movie ever.

Also this is random but: what does the fox say? (I think I know what's going to happen but I want to see.)

I LOVE THAT MUSIC VIDEO! Foxes say "rak-rak-rak" or maybe "tch-tch-tch"

I've been meaning to make a thread like this too!

First, I'm a GINORMOUS, HUGE, ABSOLUTE, ADORING, LOVING, Pooh Bear fan!!!!!!! I love Pooh Bear! He's a timeless classic that everybody, no matter the age, should adore and love forever and ever! He's sweet and cuddly, stuffed full of fluff! He's a wonderful bear of very little brains who has marvelous adventures with such dear and equally loveable friends! Has anyone else heard Kenny Loggins' "Return to Pooh Corner" song? It's absolutely beautiful, and will make you cry! I love it so much! It was my lullaby as a baby, and I still love it! Also, I love Carly Simon's Winne the Pooh songs, like "With a Few Good Friends", "A Mother's Intuition", "Little Mr. Roo", and "Shoulder to Shoulder". They're such sweet songs, I just love them.

Okay, this will be ridiculously long.

Peter Pan, Return to Neverland, Brave, Tangled, Cinderella, Robin Hood, Bambi I & II, Alice in Wonderland, Sword in the Stone, Pete's Dragon (not all animated, but Elliot was), The Jungle Book, The Aristocats, The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under (does anyone else remember this, PLEASE?!) Fox and the Hound I & II, Pocahontas I & II, Brother Bear I & II, Home on the Range, all Tinkerbell movies. And that's just the animated ones. The live action would be pretty long too. I mean, the Haley Mills movies alone...

Question, these have animation in them, but has anyone else seen Song of the South, Pete's Dragon, or Bedknobs and Broomsticks? Also, does anyone remember the Rescuers movies?

I saw Song of the South and Pete's Dragon a loooooong time ago, and I've heard of the others.

@ Blonde Heroines Rule:

Yay! Another Pooh fan! I sometimes feel ridiculously childish still liking it, but it is so classic; you can never really outgrow it.

And Pocohontas was really good too, although the love story got a bit too thick by the end, though the songs and singing was amazing.

Me and my older sisters haven't watched the movies or shows, but we love the Pooh Bear books!! It's not childish at all! Or rather, tell my twenty-two-year-old sister that it is.

My favorite Disney Movies. . .

Tangled. Oh, I have such fond memories of that movie. It was one of the last movies my family really watched all together. And the third time I watched it was on a trip to my best friend's house, who I only get to see about once every year, or not even!, because she lives in PA. I remember the stars were so big that night. . .

The Princess and The Frog. I loved it! Also, the books it was made after I read. I liked them too!

I remember our copy of Sleeping Beauty we broke because it was watched too much. I liked Sleeping Beauty and Cindrella, but they kind of seem a little. . . Okay, I'll just say I like other movies a lot better. Disney Princesses stories are too perfect for my liking.

Ah, now I remember the Disney movies (like I said I don't really watch movies). I like Peter Pan, Tangled, Alice in Wonderland, Fox and the Hound, and Bambi. I don't remember if I saw number two for Fox and the Hound and Bambi. I bet I saw the other ones before but I cannot remember (I foget so many things). My sister just would not put down Peter Pan until she lost the CD. I also know she likes most of these movies too. And just so people know when ever I talk about my sister on here I should be talking about Katie, my 8 year old sister. Then again, I some times might talk about Juliet, my 2 year old sister (nearly 3). Oh and I might even talk about my 1 year old brother, Caleb (talking, is that all I ever do?). Just so you know, those are all my siblings.

@ Admin: My mom grew up on and loves old movies, so I've grown up with them too! Pete's Dragon is one of my favorites!

@ Everinne: Don't worry about being childish. Pooh Bear is timeless, and if anyone has a problem with Pooh Bear, they evidently aren't worth knowing! But seriously, you should listen to Kenny Loggins "Return to Pooh Corner." You will cry. Also, I agree about Pocahontas. The romance did really get way too thick at the end, though the music was amazing!

@ Corina: I understand the Disney Princess being too perfect. That's one of the problems for me about a lot of things. I just love the Disney princesses, cause really, most girls grow up on them. Plus, Cinderella has been my hero FOREVER!

@ Ashlee: Fox and the Hound 2 and Bambi 2 are both more modern versions, and take place while the characters are still young. They're both quite good! I love the music in both! Reba McEntire plays a dog in the second Fox and the Hound, and the ending of Bambi is so sweet!

Btw, to those who know of or have been to Disney World, if you've ever seen pictures of or been on Splash Mountain, the whole Brer Rabbit story is from Song of the South.

@ Blonde Heroines Rule

Yeah, a  lot of girls do grow up like that, but I grew up being taught by my older siblings that they were kind of dumb and waaaay too prefect. So naturally I thought so too, though my best friend has only a brother and so she really likes them and I would play with her when I was little and we pretend to be them. So I grew up thinking they were okay, but really not that cool. Cindrella is my favorite, though!

I like the versions of the fairytales from other countries and the orginals, just not the Diney version. The orginals are really guersome, though. I guess I like that, it makes them more realistic.

Read A Tale Dark And Grimm. It's a fantastically sarcastic rendition of eight of Grimm's fairy tales. Also the author warns you about the gory moments.

Is Cinderella really your hero? Cuz, not cuz it's babyish, cuz it's not, but she always seemed... to mock me wth her perfectness and saying, "Haha, I can be friends with mice and your only friends are fake people!"

Heh heh heh, I guess she kind of does. I'm actually not sure why I loved her so much when I was littler. Something about the ball and the evil stepsisters. The ball fascinated me.

In the Disney movies, ya know how the stepsisters have these huge bustles? When I was little, I always thought those were part of them. Ahem, in short, that they had huge bottoms.

Ya'll know in the orginal her sisters cut off the their heels and toes in order to try to fit in the glass slipper? Like I said, the orginals are gross.

The brothers Grimm live up to their names.

@ Kalyna: Yeah, Cinderella most certainly is my hero! I guess I can see that, but for me, I can sort of relate cause they're implying that she simply doesn't fit in with the average girl of her day (me absolutely), and prefers the company of the mice (or animals in general). She doesn't mind her "social status", and doesn't let it get in her way. She went out, and got her own happily ever after! Cinderella makes an excellent role model for girls. And don't judge by just the Disney version. Watch Ever After: Another Cinderella Story. Cinderella TOTALLY kicks butt in this, and it's just AWESOME!
