I love the book Matilda by Roald Dahl, and I've watched the movie, too (1996). But I have never heard of the musical! That would certainly be interesting.

I saw it on Broadway for my birthday! I. LOVED. IT. If you've read the book and seen the movie,

and you like music, and dancing, and awesomness, you will LOVE this play! I really want to

audition for it! I could go on and on and on and on and on about it!

It has about 20 songs!!!

Hi Mabel!

I just saw Matilda a couple months ago, and LOVED it also!  I was quite impressed with the girl who played Matilda (it was Millie Shapiro who played Matilda when I saw it), it's amazing  how she practically carried the whole show! I love to act, and have been in a few professional shows at Yale Reperatory Theater and Long Wharf Theater in Connecticut. I'm assuming that you also like to act? WOW, by the way, knowing ALL the words to almost all the songs in Matilda, that's pretty cool! I also read your other post (and figured that I would just reply here) asking how you would go about auditioning for a play like Matilda, sometimes big Broadway productions like that have open auditions, which is when they open up the auditions for the public. Usually you would either have an agent or a manager who would, if you were really serious about acting, find a way to hook you up... I've never auditioned for a Broadway show, but have gone to quite a few auditions for plays and commercials. I don't think you would have to memorize a lot of things, usually they would provide information about what you need to prepare for the audition. If you do end up auditioning, I wish you the best of luck. Even if you don't get the part you were hoping for you can walk away feeling that you did your best, and can say that you did it!

P.S. To find info about where to go for auditions, you can probably either look it up or just go to Matilda the Musical's website. Hope this was helpful!

Wow! Thank you!!! I think it's really cool that you auditioned for a commercial!! The biggest I've ever been in is a school play....

I saw it on Broadway a couple weeks ago—soooooooo amazing. It's a fantastic production and the whole cast was just phenomenal (my lingering sadness that I didn't manage to see it with Bertie Carvel aside, our Trunchbull was Chris Hoch and he was incredible), and everything about the design and just a;kldfa;sfn it was so perfect.

Also, our party entertainer was Richard H. Blake/Warner from Legally Blonde. So that was fun.

Hi Mabel! I was watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and they showed a song from Matilda the Musical, and I thought of you! I didn't know what the song was, but it was some scene with Matilda and other school kids. It was performed live, but they were lip syncing. The song was pretty good, though!

Happy thanksgiving!

Ohhh! I didn't get to see the parade! Was it Revolting Children?? That one's my favourite! Did they throw paper airplanes?

Yes, it was Revolting Children! I remember the chorus! I don't remember seeing them throw paper airplanes, though! :)

I haven't watched Matilda, but I did see it on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I went to their website and listened to the soundtrack. My favorite songs are Revolting Chidren and Naughty.

I love Matilda. I was her father in my schools production. My school puts on huge productions because it is a school for the gifted in arts and acedemics (although I'm not that gifted.)
