The Book Thief

I went to see The Book Thief today, and I've got to say, it was a really good movie. It paralleled the book quite well, and they really captured the emotion of the audience. I was instantly sucked in as soon as it started, and I hardly breathed till it was over. There were of course parts changed or taken out (but there will always be) but all in all, I thought it was a really great movie! I swear, the whole audience was crying by the end! Has anyone else seen it?

Not yet, but I really cried when I read the book. I'll be sure to bring lots of Kleenex to the movie.

Well, it was pretty good. I haven't read the book, so I was very confused about who was narrating until the credits.

@ Admin: Ha! My mom said she should have brought Kleenex as she walked out of the theater!

@ JtSF: It is a bit confusing, even when you're reading it. Though I recommend the book because there were some things in it that weren't in the movie which helped explain it.

Btw, for anyone who has seen it, I hear the song Haunt by Bastille in the trailer, and if you've read or watched The Book Thief, definitely hear this song. It's really good.

I had decided not to see The Book Thief because the trailer was so bad (at least, I thought so) but since you say it's so good, I think I'll give it a chance.

I read the first  chapter and decided it wasn't for me.

@ Elizabeth: I personally thought it was good. But I can understand. I'll let you decide.

@ s.E. I'm personally a really big history geek. Like, huge! So The Book Thief was an obvious choice for me to read. At least 40% of what I read is historical fiction.

So do I! My only problem is that I like writing about things or people that aren't quite as well known, so it's hard to find really reliable information on it. But it's so interesting to read!

It is more difficult beause you need to find information.
