I tap dance!  I've done it since fifth grade, so that's six years now.  I'm now a part of my dance school's tap company and I'm so proud of it.

I would so love to learn tap dancing. For one thing, it seems really cool and Old Broadway/Hollywood-ish, and for another, I love dance in general. The only problem is that there's no dance studio near my house. Would you say it's fairly easy to teach yourself?

Sorry Everinne, but tap is pretty hard to teach yourself. But tomorrow I plan to open a virtual dance studio that teaches tap, ballet, and jazz. Keep checking to sign up for it!!!

I bet there are Learn to Tap DVDs or online videos.

There are Learn to Tap DVD's that you could use, Everinne. If you do decide to try one of the videos and ever need some help, just ask me! I'll be happy to help you!

I do tap. I just started and I'm working on my pullbacks and wings. I do not understand how to do the wings.

Wings are hard, .me. Are you doing single wings or double wings? Single wings are much easier.

I got my pickups (that's what we call pullbacks) back in middle school, but I'm still working on the ones where you shuffle & then do it on one side.  I just got wings last year.  I can do them with both feet at the same time & with both feet at the same time switching which one is in front.  I can't do the ones where you shuffle & then do it on one side yet.  With both, it seems hard but once the movement finally 'clicks' and you've figured out how to do it, it becomes second nature.
