The Lego Movie

The Lego Movie :D

Ok, so I just saw The Lego Movie on Saturday and it was AMAZING! I absolutely loved it and I can't stop obsessing over it! It has Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Gandalf, Dumbledore... so anyway, the plot:

The Lego Movie is about an ordinary construction worker named Emmet. He follows all the instructions he's supposed to, like drink over priced coffee and sing happy songs. His whole world changes when he falls down into a pit by accident and gets "the piece of resistance" stuck onto his back. According to a prophecy, it states whoever has the piece of resistance is the Special, or a Master Builder that will help get the Lego worlds back to the way they were. Along the way, he meets Wyldstyle, Batman, Vestivius, and a lot of other famous faces. Will Emmet stop Lord Business from getting everything his way with the Kraggle?

I completely recommend this since it's a movie for everyone, really. SPACESHIP xD

Yah know, no offense, but I didn't really like the Lego Movie. Here are some reasons why:

#1 It was SO cliche. Which got on my nerves.

#2 Everything is awesome. MOST. ANNOYING. SONG. EVER! 'Nuf said.

#3 I didn't lke the way they portrayed many licensed characters such as Superman.

#4 The beginning scene repersented the "you shall not pass" scene in LOTR WAY too much.

#5 I, personally, disliked all the characters except Batman. Because he's Batman.

#6 Almost every good line in the movie was a riff of another good line from another movie.

I could go ranting this for an hour, but you'd get bored. Sorry to any one out there who likes the Lego Movie. Oh yeah, there was one other good part which was the ending scene with Will Ferrel. It was interesting, hilarous, and didn't feature Everything is Awesome. Spammy says ynea. I think he agrees.

So it had its faults. But come on? A Hero's Journey movie with Lego characters and all that jazz? Awesome.

Okay, I didn't much enjoy the copyrighted character either, but mostly because I didn't really know who they were. Licensed characters, I mean. Whatever you want to call them. I mean, I recognise them, but if you asked me to tell you anything about Wonder Woman, The Green Latern, Superman, or Batman, I'd stand at you in blubbering confused-ness.

In math class we have this thing called "storytime" where we shared what we did over the weekend (my math teacher is... strange) and I said I liked the Lego Movie. Half the class (or more) disagreed with me. So I can see why people didn't like it, but I did. I liked it, even with the cliches (I'm sort of confused of what chliches you mean. The hero's journey? Normal Emmet being thrown into an adventure? I guess I'm a cliche, but I love that. I don't know why, but I really enjoy plots like that) and the over used characters and the strange conclusion and all that jazz. But it was very enjoyable. At least to me.

And I understand how people might not like it. Sort of. Ah, ranting. I'll be quiet now.

My brother (who is Lego crazy) did not like it a much as I did. Why? I don't know.

I watched the Lego movie yesterday and I really liked it! It was SO funny and I enjoy the song "Everything is Awesome". If you have younger siblings, especially brothers, they will LOVE this movie! :)

For a 13 yr old girl, I liked it a little too much (I did go with my little siblings), and I understand why people would complain about the clichés, but overall it was a pretty clever movie. My favorite character was probably Emmett, and my favorite scene was when she was questioning him about his favorite things (favorite restaurant: any chain!). We went to target afterwards, walked to the toy section, and whadayaknow! specific sets with instructions for the Lego movie-specific items!

Pearl, I saw it yesterday (with my little brother whos a LEGO maniac) and I feel pretty much the same way about it you did:) Sure, it WAS cliche (how do you do that that little thing above the e?) but it was clever too. My favorite character is DEFINITELY Wyldstyle- awesome!!! Yeah, I agree with everyon that everything is awesome is THE WORST CATCHY SONG IN THE UNIVERSE:) Did anyone else catch that Virtruvious was playing a version of it in the Old West Salon? Cause my whole family didn't:)

é:On a Mac, hit Option E together. (the accent appears) Let up and hit E.Voila! é!
