These are such great movies! Sometimes we watch the Japanese versions, and either Mother translates, or we sit, barely understanding unless they say Baka (which transelates into "Stupid") or something along those lines.

I really liked:

- Kiki's Delivery Service

- Whisper of the Heart

- Ponyo

- The Secret World of Arrietty

But these are only a few. They are all so good! (And quite comical.)  Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind was just amazing (our most recent watch.)

Clearly I need to watch more of these, because all I've seen is The Secret World of Arrietty and Ponyo. I liked Arrietty, but I found Ponyo kind of odd. Which of those you mentioned would ya'll recommend I watch first?

I'm glad you want to watch more, Pearl!

My Neighbor Totoro was the first one I saw, and it was good for my first one. It is a bit odd, but very sweet at the samw time. I would reccomend Totoro.

@ Pearl: Ooh, I like Stellarbee, I recommend Totoro too! It's got SUCH a sweet storyline! I also recommend From Up on Poppy Hill. It's really interesting, cause it gives insight into Japan when it was preparing for the 1964 (I think it was 1964) Olympics. But it's also got a good storyline intertwined with that. And Kiki. Kiki is precious as well! Btw, I found Ponyo to be a bit odd as well. But I think you'll really like these others.

The first one he made was Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. The first one I watched was My Neighbor Totoro, too. But My Neighbors the Yamadas is not drawn by him.

YEEEES!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE Studio Ghibli!  My favorite of those, and perhaps one of my favorite movies of all times is Spirited Away. Second favorite, (and one you didn't mention) is Howl's Moving Castle.

Oh, yes, I have also watched Howl's Moving Castle! (As I was only a little guy when I watched it, I didn't really understand it, but I loved it for sure!)

@Blackberry E.

The reason I didn't put it on was because I didn't watch it. Thanks, though!

- Spirited Away

- Kiki's Delivery Service

- Porco Rosso

- The Cat Returns

- Ponyo

And my dad says I've seen Howl's Moving Castle, but I don't remember it at all.

Spammy says: myhw. My homework...I actually don't have much tonight.

I've seen Ponyo, and was going to see My Neighbor Totoro but I was at a friend's house and they only had it in Russian. What's the story?

Ok. So The story opens up with two young girls, Satsuke and Mai, and they are moving to the country. The rundown house appears to be haunted with these little black thingies. And the forest is home to mysterious creatures called Totoros. They become friends with O Totoro, the biggest and oldest and the king of the forest. As the girl’s mother is sick in the hospital (the reason why they moved to the country), O Totoro takes the sisters on a preternatural adventure, where he helps them understand the realities of life.
I absolutely adore this movie!
