British bands...

So who do you guys like, British wise? I'm a huge fan of Coldplay :D :D And of course Bastille, The Rolling Stones, Chameleon Circuit, and The Beatles just get the ball rolling. I just started listening to Birdy who is pretty good too. And if you can't think of anything British, maybe Irish, or Australian singers? What do you guys think?

@ Moss:

I love Coldplay's old albums/songs that my mom listens to, but I don't like their new stuff so much. :/

Hmmm. Is it just bands or singers in general?

I'm a really big fan of this British singer called Jake Bugg who has a kind of folk sound but still manages to make his songs edgy and modern. He writes all of them, too, which is cool, and he has good taste in singers himself.

I used to be a big fan of One Direction, but after their third album, I finally understood their kind of cheap music and sort of gave up on them ever doing something really good.

@ Everinne:

Yeah, it can be bands and singers too. I don't really like most of Coldplay's new album Ghost Stories as much as I thought I would, but I do like Sky Full of Stars and I think Midnight. And I'll check out Jake Bugg, he sounds good (he's in the TFiOS soundtrack!!)

One Direction... oh god... just not a big fan of them. It's like Big Time Rush or whatever sigh.

Ooh and you're 15? Happy Birthday :D (I was searching for a birthday thread or something but didn't find one so I don't know but...) *gives LOTR cake* Hope you enjoy ;)

Thanks for the birthday greetings! I couldn't get around until now to making a birthday thread. *munches contentedly on cake*

I'll totally look for Jake Bugg's TFiOS song. Sounds good to me. :)

The thing with Coldplay is that they're starting to get too electronic/dance-music-y with the Ghost Stories album, which is too bad. I liked their old, ballad, acoustic sound more. :(

Coldplay: YES YES YES.

Bastille: Eh. I've only heard Pompeii, which is pretty good. He says the word "close" funny xD

The Rolling Stones: *throws up*

The Beatles are awesome. Nothing else to say about that.

Do you think Smash Mouth is British? It sounds like it sometimes. They're good.

"tpeg" is not a band, Sir Captcha, thank you very much.

Smash Mouth is American, I think. Anyone like the Monkees here?

Wait, by the Rolling Stones, do you mean you hate them?! I love them, but I do like to make fun of them in a funny way sometimes xD

Maybe it's just a factor of how much everyone else obsesses over them, or maybe it's their songs (I've only heard a few) but I really don't like them, no.

I love Daydream Believe and I'm A Believer, but I should listen to them more actually. I don't know much about them, but I do like Davy Jones. I'll do my research haha ;)

I like Mike and Mickey. I like them all but those are my favorites. I like the songs Sweet Young Thing, Papa Gene's Blues, You May Just Be the One, Saturday's Child, She, Shades of Gray and, What Am I Doin' Hangin' Round. I like the songs by Mike.

Bastille is amazing and Dan Smith is a fantastic singer and yeah.

The Arctic Monkeys are really cool, okay. Don't get me started on them.

I really like The Scientist by Coldplay, and I haven't heard much else.  Same with Pompeii by Bastille.  And then there are some random British-sounding bands that come up on Imagine Dragons Pandora.  I do really like Charlie McDonnell and Chameleon Circuit (even though I haven't seen Doctor Who), as well.

I listened to Pompii by Bastille (I always heard this on the radio but had no idea who sang it!) and I really liked it. I'll definitely check out more of their music.

I really like "The 1975". I'm pretty sure they are British. Has anyone heard of them? And The Beatles, of course! :) I haven't actually listened to a lot by The Rolling Stones.
