Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

I need advice.

I need advice. I know a person really well, and they sing a lot. But their singing voice is awful. How do I tell them that it's awful without hurting their feelings?

Gee, that's a hard one. I know some bad singers, and they love to joke about their terrible voice. But if this person thinks they are good, it might be best to not tread on that area. That probably didn't help you at all. I'm not the best with advice.

You could say something like, "Wow, you really love to sing! You should take voice lessons."

Why do you have to tell them it's awful? Maybe you just shouldn't mention it.That way you can avoid hurting their feelings and also avoid lying.

Unsolveablez says xgun. Is it against gun violence?

Just tell her to keep practicing. Oh, and tell her to record herself. Really, it works. Just ask her to record herself and then ask her to listen to that recording. People hear their voice differently because it's so close to their ears. If they listen to a recording, it will sound different. And she'll realize she sings not very well.

I love to sing, but I can't sing for the life of me! I know people like me, except they think they can sing, which is horrible. I sing often and get a little better every time, but the people who think they are amazing usually won't accept that they have a bad voice.

I would have them record themselves, but in a nice way: record a song together, then listen to it. If your friend is like me, point out the mistakes you made, and soften up the floor for them to admit theirs.

If the pesron is not like me, subtly give them tips. Since doing thing subtly never works, they will realze that singning may not be their strongest suit.
