The Princess Bride!

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

The Princess Bride!

The Princess Bride!

Has anyone seen this? I absolutely ADORE it. I first heard of it and thought, "Meh, just a boring sweet fairytale."

But no. Be prepared to experience a six-fingered man, ROUS, giant squids, and of course...

"My name is Diego Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

I'd love to hear your thoughts!!!

Wait, so did you read the "Unabriged" version? Or not? I'm confused with your contradicting posts.

Yeah, I was pretty sure Morgenstern was made up, but Goldman put in a lot of effort to make it seem like he just adapted it... it's really impressive, actually. (I mean, I read all of those long introductions and things, too, so...)

Sorry for being unclear. There is no technical "unabridged" version. It's impossible to find, but I was wondering if you had read the unrevised version that had the things in the abridged out. Not all of them, but some of them.

OMG!!! AHHHHH!!!!!!!!! What. The. Unicorn. I. Just. Watched. This. Movie. For. The. First. Time. Tonight. And. I. Came. On. CB. To. Post. About. It. And. The. First. Thing. I. See. Is. A. Post. On. It.

DID YOU READ MY MIND??? ARE YOU A WIZARD? ARE YOU SECRETLY MIRACLE MAX????

"Hello. I am Savvy four-four-x. You have killed my father. Prepare to die."

And the sixth finger thing?? Now we see where Gravity Falls gets it from!!!!! And not to be rude or anything (SORRY if this offends you) but I think it's Inigo Montoya and not Diego Montoya. Well actually I know so since I just say the credits about 2 minutes ago.

But like that is suuuuch a coinky-dink.

"No more rhyming now I mean it!!"

"Anybody want a peanut?"

LOVE THIS MOVIE.

So I'm probably going to watch it again tomorrow. We have it on VHS since it's such an old movie, but I've never seen it till today. My MOM saw it in THEATERS when she was FOURTEEN. 1987. WOOOOOOW. more tomorrow since it's past 9:00 at night and I proooobably shouldn't be on my computer now.

BYEEEEEEE!

Bubbles says guwd. Cuz this movie is guuuwwd (good)

Unfortunately, @Savvy44x, I'm not a wizard, though my friend Haley keeps claiming I can teleport...

Long story involving a basketball court, two gates, her locker, a crowd of high-schoolers, and the fact that I am a faster runner than she is.

Oh my gosh! I loved The Princess Bride. My favorite part is when Princess Buttercup is about to kill herself and then her lover (I don't know how to spell his name) says, "Oh, I wouldn't do that." And then she's so shocked and happy! Or maybe my favorite is

"Goodbye, boys! Have fun storming the castle!"

"Think it'll work?"

"It'll take a miracle."

(Or something like that.)

Westley! That's how you spell it!

And- I just remembered- my dad told me after we watched the movie that my parents played a song from it during their wedding!!

I ADORE THIS MOVIE!!!!!! I don't remember any giant squids, and his name was Inigo Montoya, I think, but IT IS STILL INCREDIBLE!!!! I'm a homeschooler, so I was raised on it. Even now, when people ask me what my favorite movie is, I always go to The Princess Bride.

@TARDISrider, I think that the squids are meant to be the giant shrieking eels from the boat scene, and  (this is the FIFTH TIME I have said this!)  I know it is really Inigo. That was a mistake and a typo. People please stop pointing that out!!!!!

How bout "I am the dread Pirate Roberts there will be no survival." Or "I never said I wanted to build a vacation home here, but the cruise is quite charming."
