My play is

My play is today!!!

For those of you who I haven't told, I have been in a theater workshop and today is the last day. We are performing scenes 1-4 from James and the Giant Peach. I am the Centipede! :D

The rehearsals have been going so well. I've made new friends and learned a lot about acting. But today at precisely 4:30 PM, I am going to go onstage and perform!

AHHH!

Yeah, I do admit I'm kind of nervous. Any tips? (Yeah, perfect time to ask for tips Butterfly. 5 hours before the show. XD)

I'm back! I'm done! It was awesome!

Well, pretty awesome. We messed up quite a  few times, but it was still SO AWESOME!!! I'm sad it's over though. :(

Yay!! I'm excited for you!!

I'm too late for this, but what I do is try to focus on all the stuff I love about the play. Normally when I'm nervous before performing I'm really excited as well, so I try to concentrate on being excited. Right before the play, I sometimes write my name in my palm with my finger to give me something to focus on instead of being nervous. 

I don't know if this is true for you, but for me, as soon as I get onto stage, basically all of my nervousness melts away and I just get really excited and put my all into the role. If it's the same for you, just remember that when you get onstage you won't feel nervouse anymore.

I feel that way too! I'm so nervous about messing up when I'm backstage, but then I get on up there and I feel fine!

Me too! I get REALLY SUPER hyper while I'm backstage from being nervous.

Butterfly,

 

I hope you're doing great in your play! Make sure to have fun - after all, being in a play is supposed to be fun! Just keep your head up, talk only to the audience, and speak loud and proud for all the CB actors/actresses out there!
