The text seemed relatively valid. Intrigued, you read the text again:

Dear CBer,

You have been selected for a free trial at the High Hopes Academy! If you choose to accept this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, you will receive an all-expenses-paid* overnight trip to the High Hopes Academy. There, you will learn all about the many aerial sports, such as hangliding and skydiving.

You've heard of these before, and have read about your friends that never came back- are you courageous enough to accept?

*The High Hopes Academy is not responsible for payments due to deaths (of any kind), injuries, etc.

Please enjoy your stay!

Sincerely,

The Director of Activities

NOTE: I've never written a "ski lodge mystery" before, (but this one doesn't take place in a ski lodge) so I apologize if someone has. If they have, I was not aware of that. Also, I may not be able to post more than once a day, because I know how long these posts can get and I'm not sure I have that kind of time for more than once a day. I hope this is fun!! If you wish to join, please bring some things you think you might need, and once we gather some people we can start. Enjoy!!

Per Aquina's request, here is another installment! :)

Day One, Part Three- Winding Down

After all the CBers had recovered from the shock of Elvina’s death, the Activities Director tried to lighten the mood.

“C’mon, guys,” she suggested. “How about we go down to the academy’s café and grab something to eat?”

“Okay, sure,” Aquina agreed.

“I was getting kind of hungry anyway,” Rufus admitted, rubbing his stomach.

“Just as long as Rufus doesn’t get out of hand,” Will T. agreed.

“Sure! Sounds cool!” Cho exclaimed.

“I’ll come,” Starseeker piped in.

“FOOD!" Joan exclaimed.

“Yumy,” Sir Galahad said.

“All right, all right, can we just go already?!” Puck demanded.

“Of course! Right this way,” A.D. said, leading the remaining CBers out of the lobby and outside into the cafe.

Once there, the CBers began to order.

“I’d like a grilled cheese,” Starseeker began. “And a block of mozzarella cheese, too.” When the server gave her a skeptical look, she explained, “It’s for my CAPTCHA, Starfire Scales. She’s a huge cheese fan.” Turning around, Starseeker allowed the next CBer to order.

“Iced tea, please,” Leafmist began. “I’d also like a caprese salad and a glass of lemonade.” Leafmist then moved with her AEs, Starseeker, and Starfire Scales to a table.

“I’d like a glass of sparkling water with lemon and a peach, please,” Aquina requested.

Will T. was next. “Can I have two Italian sodas, one mango and another strawberry?” he asked. The server nodded.

“Four cookies, please-- chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, sugar, and lemon,” Joan requested, ordering for herself, her CAPTCHA, her AE, and Legolas.

Next was Cho Chang. “I’d like just a fruit tart, please,” she said.

“Pumpkin juice, please,” said Booksy Owly.

Shadow Dragon said, “I’d like a croissant, please.”

And that was it! The order was filled within five minutes. Once all the CBers had sat down with their food, they struck up individual conversations with the CBers near them.

“Who do you think the murderer is?” Starseeker whispered to Shadow.

“I don’t know,” Shadow whispered back. “I think it might be Cho Chang, though.”

“Yeah,” Starseeker agreed. “Either her or Rufus.”

Will T. turned to Cho. “Who do you think the murderer is?” he asked over his Italian soda.

“I’m not sure,” Cho admitted. “Although, I think Aquina may be the murderer. How about you?”

“I’m not sure, either,” Will T. said. “But like you, I have suspiscions. I think the murderer might be Puck or Legolas.”

Joan turned to Leafmist and asked her opinion on who the murderer might be. Leafmist answered, “I really don’t know.”

“Any suspicions? I think it might be Will T or Shadow Dragon.”

“Yeah,” Leafmist agreed. “I think it’s Puck--” Joan looked offended but not surprised. “Or maybe one of the AEs or CAPTCHAs, like Cloudfire or Wingnut.”

Aquina turned to the Activities Director and started speaking in German. “Wo haben Director Ihren Namen Aktivitäten her*?” she asked.

The Activities Director laughed. “Where did my name come from, you ask?” Aquina nodded. “I’m not sure, although it’s not my real name. When one of my friends figured out that I was running this academy full of activities, they just started calling me that, and it caught on!”

Just then, Aquina noticed just how much the wind was picking up. “You guys,” she began, “I think it’s getting a bit windy, and I think we should go inside.”

However, no one could hear her over the wind. Suddenly, Legolas’s napkin blew away, and stood up to chase after it. As soon as he did, though, the wind picked up even more and he started to literally blow away. Grabbing onto the chair, Legolas tried to save himself from the wind, but it was no use. With one final look at his friends, Legolas’s fingers slipped from the chair and he went flying towards the mountains.

Everyone gasped. Legolas was gone, and the only thing good about it was that the wind had died down.

----------------------------------

R.I.P. Legolas. I hope you find that napkin.

*@Aquina, I hope the German in here is accurate. Once again, I used Google Translate.

**Did you get the pun at the beginning? “Wind”ing down? XD

Google Translate isn't the best on German. 'Wo haben Direktor Ihren Namen Aktivitaeten her?'

litterally translated means 'Where have you Director your Name Activities from?'.

It's cool!

Sorry, Aquina! What I meant it to say was, "Where does your name Activities Director come from?" Or maybe you figured that out already. ;)

Anywhere else where I could translate into German that you know of?
