I'm auditioning for

I'm auditioning for my school play, Beauty and the Beast, and I'm not sure what song to pick for my auditions. If it gives you any ideas, I have a slightly deeper voice.

I love Beauty and the Beast!! I can help you find a song. Which part do you want?

Well... Are there any limits on the types of songs and stuff? For example, no pop songs?

A good musical theater number is "Lullaby of Broadway". I have sung it for an audition before.

Yay! Are you a fellow alto? I sang Candle on the Water from Pete's Dragon for Dr Dolittle Jr. auditions. I got a part!

I would suggest "Reflections" from Mulan because it is a great song to show off your voice, and it is also from a Disney movie. I might post more song ideas later.

My school's doing High School Musical 2, and we had to sing "My Country 'Tis of Thee' in three keys (B flat, E flat, A flat, I believe,) but some other Disney songs I would recommend to you would be:

-Part of Your World (Little Mermaid)

-Whole New World (Aladdin)

...If you'd like more suggestions, I'll think of more later.

Our school is doing Beauty too! I can't help but think of Jess from MDBC... Good luck!

I Know Things Now

They're all GREAT for my voice type! My range is F3 to A5 (I apparently have an incredible range) but my comfort zone is more on the alto side.

Because apparently I have the range of about the bottom of the alto scale to the toppish of soprano. Ick.

S.E., I love The Sound of Music!

Danie, I can't really recommend anything for you because I sing with a choir and we do songs in different parts and our songs sound bad without the harmonies. Break a leg!
