ART POSTING

(Subject not going through....Third time's the charm...??)

Art stuff thread starting...NOW!  If you draw stuff, you can post it here! I draw in a sort of anime/manga/toon style, but if you don't, don't let that stop you from posting your stuff!  I would love to see other people's art so post away!  They can be OCs, fan art, or just random stuff.  You can use any media, including digital, like I do!  Just to let you chatterboxers know, I started this thread so we can share our tricks of the trade with each other.  Feel free to: ask questions about how to draw certain things, post techniques, share art, and mostly HAVE FUN!  If you draw your OCs, feel free to share information about them such as their names and that sort of thing.  Same goes for fan art since not all of us know where these characters are from.  You don't have to be polished with your art.  I myself am just a beginner at anime/manga/toon.  I'm not good at hands so if any of my hands looks particularly cruddy, you know why.  I also struggle sometimes with feet so same goes for that.  If any of you know how to draw a particularly good hand or foot, feel free to share your trick for it.

Going to post a picture of my OC, Tuxedo, if this post goes through okay.

Okay! Here's one of my paintings! Sorry about the weird lighting and grainy picture.

Beautiful, Leafmist! You did an especially great job on the clouds!

I like the clouds. :3

Spirit-rain says hreb. You need to take some spelling lessons, Spirit-rain.

Good job, Leafmist! I like it! It makes me want to be there. I can imagine sitting under the palm tree in my swimsuit. I can also see it being hung on a wall in someone's beach resort.

--Whoa, Scratchy just said "maat". Were you trying to say "mat"?

Thanks, guys! Here's another one (I'm kinda obsessed with painting beaches who knows why):

OMG how did you do the clouds?! They look stormy.

When I painted it, I used light gray paint, and made the sky grayish too. I don't really know... I just copied a picture I took in Florida.

I've never posted art before, mostly because I'm not confident in my abilities, but I'm pretty proud of this one. The quote is from Flora ad Ulysses by Kate DiCamillo, and the image is sort of light because it was in pencil, but I think you can sort of get the idea.

Hopefully this works. I'm not confident in my technology abilities either. :p

I like it! It's pretty, and I like how you arranged the images with the quote. I'm also so glad that you decided to post because this thread is not about trying to be the best. It's about artistic expression.

That's so sweet and it made me feel sentimental. "I promise to always turn back toward you" just made me tear up a little. It's like this book I read once... It was really sad but amazingly wonderful. Flora & Ulysses is a wonderful book as well. Beautiful work, Regina! Some things aren't conveyed in skill or prowess, but through simple emotion. And you did that wonderfully.

That quote from Flora and Ulysses, which I reread recently.....almost identical to another quote from one of my most FAVORITE series....the Willow Falls series by Wendy Mass....in the last book:

"I will always keep walking toward you."
