ART POSTING

(Subject not going through....Third time's the charm...??)

Art stuff thread starting...NOW!  If you draw stuff, you can post it here! I draw in a sort of anime/manga/toon style, but if you don't, don't let that stop you from posting your stuff!  I would love to see other people's art so post away!  They can be OCs, fan art, or just random stuff.  You can use any media, including digital, like I do!  Just to let you chatterboxers know, I started this thread so we can share our tricks of the trade with each other.  Feel free to: ask questions about how to draw certain things, post techniques, share art, and mostly HAVE FUN!  If you draw your OCs, feel free to share information about them such as their names and that sort of thing.  Same goes for fan art since not all of us know where these characters are from.  You don't have to be polished with your art.  I myself am just a beginner at anime/manga/toon.  I'm not good at hands so if any of my hands looks particularly cruddy, you know why.  I also struggle sometimes with feet so same goes for that.  If any of you know how to draw a particularly good hand or foot, feel free to share your trick for it.

Going to post a picture of my OC, Tuxedo, if this post goes through okay.

I got a Pen Display for my 13th birthday (for those of you who don't know what a pen display is: A pen display is a screen that you plug into your laptop or pc, it then mirrors the screen and allows you to draw on it with a special pen) and I wanted to draw something with it.

I guess it's not really art... but I've been scrapbooking lately! Here's my favorite one:

Thank you! It usually takes me a loong time to plan out my scrapbooking pages. My advice is to collect flat things to ut in your scrapbook and then rearrange them on the paper!

Ooh, this looks so cool!!! Especially the drapery. I love drapery but never draw it quite that detailed XD At least for me, it's hard to make it look as realistic as yours does. I want to see this when it's done!

If you're open to a bit of criticism, I do think it looks stiff. Everything is pretty symmetrical and nothing gives much energy or movement. That being said, that could be good if you're making a calmer or more serene picture (perhaps with more muted colors or such). Even then, though, I think it could still have more movement. Also since it's a draft, lineart could potentially aid or even fix that. I'm only saying this because I know you're an amazing artist, though. So don't take it as too much criticism. It's not really a problem so much as a thing that I, a worse artist than you, think could potentially make it even better.

Seriously though, this is amazing :D I always love seeing your art.

Thank you so much BB! I am always, and I mean ALWAYS open to constructive criticism, particularly favouring that which is detailed, yet concise: which is exactly what you consistently provide! I'm so glad you enjoy my art and are willing to grace me with your opinions, despite your motor difficulties. It really it an honour. Also, please don't be so hard on yourself, art is subjective and 'better' or 'worse' hardly truly exist in the wonderful world of art; only 'differences' can really exist in such a field.

I really appreciate the comment you made about movement, by the way. I've been trying to be more anatomically accurate (and especially on paper, where there's no 'undo' button, whereas I usually temd more toward movement or style-centric work. My idea was kinda to start making profiles for my AEs, but you've got a good point: it does look a little stiff and lifeless. Thanks again for engaging with me and my art! As much as making a quick comment might not seem to be super important sometimes, this kinda thing really makes my day! :)
