The tribes are

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

The tribes are

The tribes are at war.

For hundreds of years these ancient tribes have lived relatively peacefully, only fighting when necessary, to guard their lands. Usually, they fight together, against the greater evil. Now, they are fighting against each other.

So. This is a ski-lodge format: You join, I write. Will you dare to join, and risk everything?

The Stars think they know what's best,

The Jewels will risk it all.

The Stream will take its final breath,

before they'll dare to fall.

The Air shudders at the thought of "fail",

yet all the tribes must prevail.

The Star tribe is perhaps the wisest, which is why they want to rule. The Jewels think the land needs to be orderly. The Stream tribe is simply protecting themselves (they don't usually fight), but Air will do anything to gain power. That is what this is: a war of power. There is no evil.

Star:

The Star tribe is wise (see above). They are the finest crafters in the land of Gradef. Mostly, they wear pale blue and silver.

Jewel:

The Jewel tribe wants impeccible order. They are the artists of Gradef. Mostly, they wear pastel colors.

Stream:

The Stream tribe is cheerful, never really wanting to fight. They make music for all of Gradef to enjoy. They wear green and blue and pale brown.

Air:

They are the most vicious of the tribes. They are the warriors, which gives them an advantage over the rest of the tribes. They wear gold and black.

Note: I will pick the tribes. if everyone picked their own, the tribes might be uneven. You may not join after June 14th.

[---] Scyllla stood grimly at the head of the Council of the Jewel Tribe. They were broken, looking for words of encouragement, but Scylla had none. She knew that the only thing to bring them together and unite the troops were three words: "Let's do this."

In other words, I love the selection I was given! Thank you, O wise O mysterious Peacemaker. Now this story had better be good! *pulls out box of popcorn* *munches on popcorn*

Joining!!!

submitted by Remus Skeeter
(June 7, 2016 - 1:16 pm)

@Remus Skeeter: I'm sorry, you may not join. We're to far into the thingy now.

@September: whoops! Um, Cortana can be... A warrior in Jewel!

@Aquina: I meant to. It means you are a warrior and you are in the council.

Day one

Mei-xue stood gazing up at the thick band of stars that stretched across the night sky. Her eyes landed on the bright speck of Jupiter, then traveled to Mars, comparing their positions. A rustle of leaves and fabric brought her down to earth. She turned around, her long, silver robes swirling. A slim figure emerged from the bushes.

"Shadowmoon," Mei-xue greeted the warrior,"How are our troops faring?" Shadowmoon shook her head sadly. Mei-xue sighed.

"I will come. We need to have a council, immediatly." The two Star members pushed their way through the thick, lush leaves that surrounded the Star camp, shielding it from others view. A whippoorwill called in the distance. As the girls pushed into the moonlit clearing, Shadowmoon grabbed the arm of a boy near her,

"Summon the warrior council members." The boy nodded, and sped off. Shadowmoon and Mei-xue walked on in silence, until they reached the four stumps that marked the spot of the council. Mei-xue settled herself on one of them, her long hair glinting in the moonlight. Slowly, the other two council members arrived. The four of them sat silently for a moment, until Mei phrased her question again:

"How are our troops faring?"

Shadowmoon looked worried.

"Not well. Our warriors just..." she struggled for a moment, "are finding it... difficult, to..." She gave an exasperated sigh. Aquina looked at the ground. She was a warrior, and she knew exactly what Shadowmoon was too considerate to say. The Star tribe warriors just weren't working. They didn't see what Shadowmoon saw, and what Aquina now understood. The other tribes were a real threat, especially Air, and the only way to survive was work! She looked at the council under her half-closed eyelids.

"We-we haven't been w-working," she said, in a voice that just barely quivered, "and I'm not proud of it either!"

The only member of the council that had not yet spoke was Cho, who said,

"Why is everyone looking at me?"

Shadowmoon rolled her eyes.

"Clearly, all we need is a way to motivate the troops to really train! Any thoughts?" Silence. "Okay, I'll work on it," she sighed.

Elvina scowled at the messenger boy.

"How are we to practice sneaking tactics if you keep interrupting us?" she snapped irritably. The past few nights had been long, sleepless ones, due to A-21's constant council meetings and changing plans.

"So you've been snuck up on?" Pinkie snickered. Elvina let out a mad cat noise.
"Just deliver it and scat!" Pinkie very unwillingly plunked the message into her hand and tore off into the black night. Elvina glanced down. The message read,

Council meeting: 10 min. Hurry, A-21 in a bad mood.

Thorn

Elvina noted the bad handwriting and poor grammer. A-21 must be in a real frenzy! She turned to her apprentice.

"Council meeting St. I'll be back in roughly an hour. You're dismissed 'til then." St.Owl watched her trudge up the hill. A-21's rantings had all been directed at Elvina, who was his top warrior. Whether he was furius with her or just wanted her to listen, Elvina had seen far too much of the tribal leader lately. St. Owl decided she wanted to know what all the fuss was about. She snuck after her master.

The Council of Air was nothing like Star's council. A dank cave set into the side of a mountain set the stage. All St. had to do was stand outside and listen. Thorn's voice boomed out of the cave first.

"We have trained warriors! We are safe!"

A-21 growled, "They sent that cursed seeker dragon to spy on us! They know our tactics!"

"The seeker dragon was probably just a ruse," Elvina said mechanically. "They weren't really watching us train? Were they?"

"Oh yes they were!" Fudimo exploded. "Elsa saw that creature in the trees! She informed me, not very calmly, of it! I therefore warned the council!" Elvina moaned, and clamped her hands over her face. St.Owl felt worried. Seeker dragons? The only tribe that had seekers was Stream.
