CAMERA RETURNS

So... I had a lovely little camera. Nothing big and fancy, just your typical digital camera. Although, this one wasn't weather-proof, and I took it everywhere. We went to Neah Bay (rainforest/ocean) in Washington and the salty air and rain got to it. The lens was becoming grainy inside and wouldn't close properly. Old age, I suppose, was hitting the poor thing. Then we went to Ocean Shores (also in Washington) and the wind was extremely strong. That meant I got sand and salty air in the lens.

I saw the awesome opportunity to take a stunning photo of the sand blowing over the dunes (it was like 50 mph winds) and so I laid the camera down to the ground and took a few shots. Umm... That probably did it right there.

The lens wouldn't close, and I was devastated. Cameras have always been my best friend. So I picked at it for a while, but it was not going anywhere. The thing wouldn't even turn on due to a "lens error".

RIP, my good friend.

Then, I remembered, flash back. I had another digital camera. Even older than my dead one *cries in remembrance* but the battery was dead, it got tossed around by little kids, and there was no memory card. Some hours of charging the battery and switching Dead Camera's memory card into Old Camera's spot... It worked. Made some weird noises at first, but at least it works!

So... I learned my lesson through my camera's death. NEVER put a non-weather proof camera in a very... weathery situation. Ever. Unless I wish to be buying replacements or digging digital graves.

Good news? I CAN TAKE PICTURES AGAIN. No more using a pathetic Kindle Fire camera. Which means I can start posting on my Photography Sharing thread again with new photos, not old photos.

By the way, most those photos from me shared on there? Taken with my Old Camera. Not the Dead Camera. So, I beg, don't fail me now!

And again... RIP my dear friend. I will write a poem for your sacrifice made to take the perfect sandy shot. *Tears up* I should go now...
