The Music Man!

I'm in The Music Man at my local theater! It's really fun, although I have quite a lot of dancing to do during Shipoopi. However, I'm not complaining: the choreography is absolutely amazing, as is my amazing choreo teacher. I play a townsperson, which is pretty much the only role available for my age (I'm a head taller than all the townschildren, and a lot shorter than Zaneeta, and of course all the other roles are played by adults).

My costumes are awesome too! Actually, the whole costume shop is amazing :):):)

So, have any of you been in this play before? What roles have you played (if it was Jr. Arts and not with adults in the main roles)?

We are running Act 1 tonight and I am excited!

Wow! I haven't been in the play, but in music class we watched half of the movie. Then school ended, so it was bad planning on the music teacher's part. It seemed to have a predictable plot, but I'm not sure because I haven't seen the rest. But you're so lucky to have a part in a play with an adult, and real costumes. It sounds like if I were you, I would faint because I'd be so overwhelmed with great costumes, acting, and choreography.

Oh! I almost forgot-- good luck with the rehearsals and the play!

Thanks Apple (can I call you Apple?)! If anyone else lives in South Carolina (honestly I used to suspect BHR of living here), come see my show!!! Of course, you don't know where the theater is and I'm not going to tell you. Humph. Not that anyone lives down here anyways.

Cool! I'm going to be in the Christmas musical at my local theatre. I auditioned for the one main role for a kid, and got a callback, but didn't get the part. (A lot of that was due to the fact that the character was supposed to be ten, and the two other girls called back where a head shorter than me.) I'm a caroler with my dad, which will be fun. This summer I got to do an awesome theater camp thing. My mom signed me up for it, and we did a all middle school production of Tom Sawyer after about ten rehersals. We did one rehersal a week to learn lines, and during the five days leading up to opening night, one six hour rehersal a day. The middle schoolers did everything. We had adults helping, but kids did lights, sound, costumes, set, and directed. I got to be Aunt Polly, and spoke in southern accent and yelled a lot. It was great!
