Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Who here has

Who here has watched either of these two TV shows:

Doctor Thorne

North and South

?

THEY ARE AMAZING.

And Pride and Prejudice was SOO great... I'm really into romantic movies/tv shows set in the 1700s/1800s/1900s.

And they are so romantic... *sigh*

My swim coach asked me today why I was smiling, and I said, "Have you watched North and South?" She said, "No, I've never heard of it." And I said, "Well, it's very romantic..." and then I went off to finish my laps.

And the best is, all these are CLEAN romantics! No swearing, no, erm, inappropriate romance, either. Also, Gone With the Wind is an excellent movie, although I haven't been allowed to read the book.

Thoughts? Has anybody watched these?

Oh my goodness, I love Pride and Prejudice!  North and South is really good too.  I'm a huge fan of Jane Austen and classics like those.  I haven't seen Doctor Thorne though.

If you liked those, you'd really like Doctor Thorne! I belive it is only on Amazon, though.

Which is better, Sense and Sensibility or Pride and Prejudice?

I like them both, but Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy are SO romantic.

I can't tell you how many times today I've rewatched the last 10 minutes or so of the final episode of North and South.. When John Thorton realizes *SPOILER* it was Maragret's brother at the station... Mr. Thorton's face was PERFECT.

Ahhhhh.... I am going to go watch it right now.
