It's night. You'r

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

It's night. You'r

It's night. You're sitting in your bed, staring out the window, searching for something lost. But you can't remember what it is, or was. All you know is that it's out there...it's important...and it was once yours.

Perhaps you never used it, perhaps you did--once, maybe twice. Or more. But for some strange reason, you can't remember if you did or didn't. Or what effect it had on you. Or...where it is now.

As you awoke from a particularly bland and boring dream, the memory that you were missing this...thing slid into your head. As you sat in a haze between asleep and awake, you stared outside, scouring the landscape that, for one fleeting moment, was no longer the familiar world you saw every day.

So here you are, staring outside, searching.

And then you finish waking up.

And here you are, trying to remember what you were just doing.

Hm, you think, smacking your dry lips. The covers rustle as you reach for your water glass, which sits by your lamp on your nightstand like it does every night. That's really wierd...I can't remember my dream. It seemed important--almost real. Your hand meets cold glass and you close your fingers around it. You bring it to your lips for a satisfying sip, but you realize that it's empty.

"Darn," you whisper. You'll have to get out of bed to fill it up--but it's really cold, and you don't have socks on.

Eh, it's no big deal. You'll fill it up.

Throwing the covers to the side, you haul yourself out of bed. With every footstep towards the kitchen all memory of strange dreams and searches leaves you, and by the time you return to your comfy nest of blankets with your full cup of water, the night seems almost normal. That is, until you glance outside the window.

Something moves across the front of the moon, which is full and shines right through the middle of your window, lighting up your comforter. What could it have been? It seemed familiar...And perhaps it's the fact that you're still half asleep, half awake that you can sense it, but a powerful force beats from it. Calling you. Presenting opportunities that you absolutely cannot miss.

Without any hesitation you get back out of bed, but before you can even leave your bedroom you notice a puddle of water near your nightstand.

So that's where all my water went, you realize. I must've knocked it over. Upon closer inspection you realize that there's writing on the carpet, glowing faintly yellow from under the patch of wetness.

The writing is so interesting you don't even realize how strange it is that the puddle isn't soaking into the carpet, or wonder how the words got there. In fact, the words don't even seem scary to you, despite their suspicious nature.

Hello, person! You are one of the lucky few CBers to be chosen to go on a nice, relaxing, beautiful vacation over Lake Lelillo! (Lay-LIH-loh) If you do indeed come, and we absolutely hope you do decide to, you will be given a free getaway from work, school, and empty water glasses! Here at Lake Lelillo, you will have all-day access to the lake itself, the fun attractions, the ice cream stands, the hot dog stands, the hamburger stands, the steak stands, the spagghetti stands, and any other stand marked with a silver star. (Which is all of them, so please don't forget!) Your rooms will be huge and most of them will even overlook the lake! They will of course be inside our one and only Luxury Lake House, which you will live in until your stay comes to a close. Remember this is all completely free, free free! Please pack your things, bring an AE and/or CAPTCHA if you'd like, and wait with them by the nearest stream at sunrise tomorrow morning. As we always say: All inlets lead to Lelillo!

~Your Soon-to-be Chaperones,

Cassy and Lily of Lake Lelillo

How you read all that small print was beyond you. Will you go? It certainly seems relaxing enough. The choice is yours to make.

-------------------------

I'll tell you all when the spots are closed, so join while you still can!

Please note that this is my second ski lodge, and it's kind of linked to my first. In a sense, it's the next part. I don't know if I should call it a part two, or what, but some things might reference the first ski lodge. Don't worry--I'm not going to make things super confusing. I'll explain things as I go--and I really need new CBers to join in. But I also need some CBers from my previous ski lodge to come. ('Course, they don't have to join if they don't want to; I'll understand.)

Here's another clue (if you didn't catch the others...) for the CBers who were in my first ski lodge, or read it, and wanted to be in this one:

What do you get when you cross a scorpion and a sloth?

Hehe, my alias isn't going to last the day. :D

Jwyn! *hugs*

Awww, thank you so much!! :) :) :) That means a lot to me. Even just you taking the time to comment here means a lot to me. And thank you for such a glowing review! I am so glad you liked the story!

Lake Lelillo is formatted for print and you can definitely get a copy if you want! Do you have a YWP account? I can give you more details over there.

*hugs back* You are very very welcome! You deserved it.

I do not have a YWP account and I'm still rather on the fence about such things. It may be the only way to join the rumored CB Discord, however... I'm still not totally sure. I don't know much about it.

Anyway, thank you for replying. I also reacted to a few of the last installments, in case it was any entertainment? Idk. I am a weird sort of person--who isn't?

I did see your other comments! Very well-thought-out theories, and good job guessing it was HAB ^-^ Funny how his comment threw you off the trail.

If I may ask, which aspects of YWP are you on the fence about? I'm a member of both the YWP classroom, so I can answer any questions/concerns you might have. I'm the moderator of the CB Classroom, actually, which is basically an extension of the Chatterbox--we follow all the CB's etiquette. (The Discord is a whole other story...it does not adhere to CB etiquette.)

It's possible to connect you with Lelillo outside of YWP, though. I use Blurb to self-publish my books, so when I have it all set up I'll let you know, and you might just be able to look it up in Blurb's catalogue-bookstore-thingy.

Honestly I'm not entirely sure what I'm on the fence about, (every time I think of that sentence I remember when you went and sat on the fence during the hay barn fight *snorts* ok off topic sorry) I just tend to have reservations about making accounts on sites and etc. etc., because I'm paranoid. I would just need to find myself a convincing enough reason... not that Lelillo isn't a convincing enough reason, just that even if I were able to get it my parents might not let me and such. So on the whole I may or may not join, depending, but I would like to know more about it.

(Ahaha, I forgot about that hay fight!)

Update on Lelillo: It's on Blurb now, so you should be able to search and find it!

I will happily provide more info on YWP...

-Only for users under 18 (hence the young writers) (educators can be over 18 though)

-You can start novel projects, write novels or outlines on the site, join as many classrooms as you want, do word sprints, get writing dares, track your progress, and write with your "classmates" in Nanowrimo and Camp Nano writing months. (You can start novels anytime, though.) It's great for writing groups, class writing projects, clubs, and of course CBer groups :) We have a classroom for Kyngdom and one for all of the CB.

-YWP does have a forum, and ages 13+ can chat on it and it's carefully moderated. I actually don't go on the forum at all, so that's about all I know. It has lots of topics.

-Classrooms are private and a means of chatting with other classroom members. You can only join a classroom through a code, just like Google Classrooms.

-We only allow CBers in our YWP classroom (so no strangers). We follow CB rules and have all sorts of different topics/threads--novel & writing chat, games, character cafe, AE chat, music/playlists, a way to post pictures, occasional live chats, and more!

-You can only message YWP users if you're in the same classroom as them. You can direct message your classmates. Also, you can edit or delete any of your comments, which is nice.

-The code to our classroom is RGLCGPPK.

Thanks! I like this cover better than The Farm Story's cover. I have the whole book on preview so at the very least you can have it in e-book form :)

Wow! Wowowowowowow.

I know I'm late to the party, and hopefully I'm not being obnoxious by commenting on this so late after it's all done, but that was INCREDIBLE Mice! I wish I had stuck around while it was being finished so I could appreciate it in real time, but I'm so glad I came back to finish reading it.

I can't believe I guessed the murderer correctly! I had forgotten that I suspected HAB, but then when I was reading I found my old comment and realized that I actually had good reason to suspect him. Then everything he said and did seemed to further prove that he was the murderer, just because it was in the back of my mind the whole time.

One question, because I think this was intentional and I'm proud of myself for noticing it: Was the name of the Anna-Klara-whatever-it's-called-Carden/Garden supposed to spell Sakura when you looked at the first letters of each word? Wasn't Sakura a name that Ruby or Red or T.O.N. or someone used in a ski lodge? OH and wasn't it Sakura C., and is that why Pierre said Carden? I hope you answer because I'm really happy with myself! XD

Yayyy, you finished!!! Congratulations on correctly guessing HAB.

Aha, you caught that! I think you were pretty much the only person who did. Yes, it spells out Sakura C, and Pierre always messes up on the last word for that reason. I did a lot of digging into past ski lodges because I was confused; some people said Ruby invented the ski lodge, and others said it was Sakura. And that's when I found out Ruby had two pseudonyms.

Thank you for reading, Dragonrider. It means a lot that you'd come back and binge-read Lelillo after so long. I'm glad you liked it! XD

It's night. Mice is scrolling through Pudding's Place. She glances down and sees a COMMENT BY HAB WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON

*chokes in shock*

^That was last night^

Well it certainly has been a while! I can't tell you how glad I am to see you dropping by! I'm excited for you to finally be able to read the ending--now that it's finished, there's no way for me to take any more random breaks, heh heh.
