Song Lyrics!

Hi guys, I thought it might be a cool idea to have a thread where we can post random inspirational verses of quotes from Songs/Musicals/Poems. Please only include appropriate lyrics, and they can be about anything you choose. Also, try not to include entire songs, just maybe a few lines. Thanks!

Just because you find that life's not fair,

It doesn't mean that you just have to grin and bear it.

If you always take it on the chin and wear it,

Nothing will change.

Just because I find myself in this story,

It doesn't mean that everything is written for me.

If I think the ending is fixed already,

I might as well be saying, I think that it's ok,

And that's not right.

That's from Matilda the Musical. 8D

I think it will look really cool, eventually, with lines and lines of amazing song lyrics listed all down this thread. So yeah. Thanks guys, and PLEASE POST!!!

*clears throat* sorry.....

Grander earth has quaked before

Moved by the sound of His voice

And seas that are shaken and stirred

Can be calmed and broken for my regard

-It Is Well, (Hillsong?) It's a Christian song. Again, I think it can sound really inspiring and uplifiting to even non-Christians.

Some PVRIS lyrics! This band is awesome, they sound a ltitle bit like Paramore if you're into them. I recommend all of their songs!

I'm not what I seem, no.
Some would say I'm possessed, yeah,
But I'll confess I've just been obsessed

With life and death and emptiness, I guess.

~Empty, PVRIS

You can right all the wrongs just to feel you belong,

But simply calling out sins don't bring you closer to God.

~Holy, PVRIS

All that comes out is white noise and incomprehensible sounds
And all you ever do is turn me down

Sick of the lack of signal
Sick of the lack of touch
Sick of the static voice

It's not enough, it's not enough

~White Noise, PVRIS

Before you came around

I was lost and out of place

~Only Love, PVRIS

This world is a masterpiece
A canvas sheet accountable for such losses
Shout out to the artist who took his heart and his soul and lost them both in the process

~Demon Limbs, PVRIS (This is my favorite lyric ever!)

There's a hole in my chest
And I don't think it's leaving room for anyone

~Waking Up, PVRIS

And the world will know!

And the world will learn!

And the world will wonder how we made the tables turn.

And the world will see.

That we had to choose-

And what we do today will be tomorrow's news

~Newsies (the Broadway musical)

Once there were parking lots,

Now it's a peaceful oasis

(You've got it, you've got it)

This was a Pizza Hut,

Now it's all covered in daisies.

(You've got it, you've got it)

~Nothing But Flowers, Talking Heads

And the walls that they put up to hold us back fell down!

It's the revolution, throw your hands up

'Cause we never gave in

~Change, Taylor Swift

Do you feel like you're second-hand?
Do you feel you're afraid to stand alone?
Cut away every safety net
Live your life so you won't regret the road
Feels like you, standing there so small
Just the space between the stars
Don't be afraid to risk it all
'Cause we are we are
We are giants
We are giant
We are giants
We are we are
We are giants
We are giant
We are giants
We are we are
Raise your flag, let your voice be heard
Put your heart into every word you say
All your failures' a cornerstone
Build a house with the things you've thrown away
Feels like you, standing there so small
Just the space between the stars
Don't be afraid to risk it all
'Cause we are we are
We are giants
We are giant
We are giants
We are we are
We are giants
We are giant
We are giants
We are we are
Feels like you, standing there so small
Just the space between the stars
Don't be afraid to risk it all
'Cause we are we are
We are giants
We are giant
We are giants
We are we are
We are giants
We are giant
We are giants
We are we are

This is depressing, but I really love this song.

I Remember Her:
Written by Ingrid Michaelson / Cabin 24 Records (ASCAP) 2016
Produced by Ingrid Michaelson
Piano & Vocals: Ingrid Michaelson
Recorded at Grand Street Recording, Brooklyn, NY
Engineered by Ken Rich
Mixed By Sean Moffitt at Yoda’s Palace Studios (Nashville, TN)
Mix assistant Nick Lobel
Mastered by Chris Athens at Chris Athens Masters (Austin, TX)

There’s a house, that’s not on a hill
And the paint’s chipping off
Of the old window sill
There’s a tree in the front yard
That’s older than me
And older than all of you

There’s a smell that the heat makes,
It reminds me of Christmas
And birthdays in December

I remember her
I remember her
I remember her so well
I remember her
I remember her
I remember her so well

But things they fade

She would kiss my hand
She would kiss my head
Then she’d fall asleep with me
In my tiny bed
She would sing me lullabies
Gave me my hazel eyes
And then she’d call me beautiful
She made me beautiful

I remember her
I remember her
I remember her so well
I remember her
I remember her
I remember her so well

But things they fade
Things turn to grey
As much as I try to save them
They turn grey
Just like the house, that’s not on a hill
With all of the rust on the gate
The chips on the sill

But I love it still

When life has cut to deep and left you hurting

The future you had hoped for is now burning

And the dreams you held so tight have lost their meaning

And you don't know if you'll ever find the healing

*You're gonna make it

You're gonna make it

The night can only last for so long

Whatever you're facing

If you're heart is breaking

There's a promise for the ones who just hold on

Lift up your eyes and see

The sun is rising*

Every high and every low you're gonna go through

You don't have to be afraid, I am with you

In the moments you're so weak you feel like stopping

Let the hope you have light the road you're walking

**

Even when you can't imagine how

How you ever gonna find your way out

Even when you're drowning in your doubt

Just look beyond the clouds

The sun is rising

I will hold on hope,

And I won't let you choke,

On the noose around your neck,

And I'll find strength in pain,

And I will change my ways,

I'll live my life as it used to be...

Thats from The Cave by Mumford and Sons.
