MUSICAL THEATRE SURVEY!!!

Okay, so I understand I just posted something on here, but I was inspired by the amazing Jwyn's post over on DtE (I think) with a survey! Of course, in classic rthebwayfan order, I'm musical-ifying it! I give all credit to Jwyn for this idea! Feel free to answer all or some of the answers in the comments!

3. Do you dance?

4. What was the first show you were ever in?

5. What's your go-to audition song(s)?

6. Any dream roles?

7. Which is your strongest/most-experienced suit: Acting, singing or dancing?

8. What's your least-strongest/least-experienced suit: Acting, singing or dancing?

9. What was the most recent show you saw live?

10. What are your current musical obessesions?

11. Do you go to a performing arts school?

12. Are you in a chorus/ glee club?

1. What's the first musical you ever saw live?
On Broadway? Never. The first musical I remember seeing was A Christmas Carol, which was based off of the Muppets Christmas Carol, with those songs. I barely remember anything, so the one that I actually remember being in complete awe of was Seussical the Musical at our local theater (whcih I am involved in now). I loved it SO much.
2. Are you any shows right now? If so which one(s)?
Nope! We just finished The Wizard of Oz in September, and I was in the ensemble as a poppy, an Ozian, and a flying Monkey.
3. Do you dance?
I'm not sure I understand the question. I took ballet lessons from a family friend at her church for two years, but I don't take any dance right now. I love it though, I'm always moving, and if I could take classes I definitely would. (Ballet, tap, clogging, anything!)
4. What was the first show you were ever in?
The Little Mermaid as a gull and fish.
5. What's your go-to audition song(s)?
In My Own Little Corner from Cinderella.
6. Any dream roles?
I could go own forever, but a couple are Eponine from Les Miserables, Belle from Beauty and teh Beast, Katherine from Newsies, and Maid Marian from the Music Man.
7. Which is your strongest/most-experienced suit: Acting, singing or dancing?
Out of these I am most experienced with acting, but I think my srtong suit is dancing. If it is already choreographed, I can learn teh moves fast and do them well.
8. What's your least-strongest/least-experienced suit: Acting, singing or dancing?
Singing. I've only been doing theatre for one year, and the first time I got anything close to lessons was last year in my first musical.
9. What was the most recent show you saw live?
Sweeny Todd last month at our local theatre (next door, for "adult theater"). It was AMAZING.
10. What are your current musical obessesions?
Dear Evan Hansen, Les Miserables, Waitress, and She Loves me (2016)
11. Do you go to a performing arts school?
No. I'm homeschooled, but I wish!
12. Are you in a chorus/ glee club?
Nope.
13. Are you a Soprano, Mezzo, Tenor, Alto, Baritone or Bass.. (etc.)?
Soprano, but I can sing Alto.
14. What show were you most recently in?
Wizard of Oz! (see question 2)
15. Did you enjoy this survey?
Yes, it was quite nice.

Oh that's so cool, my friends were just in Wizard of Oz a few months ago. They were poppies, snow, one was a lollipop guild member and the other was Nikko. I also knew the kid playing Tin Man. :)

@rthebwayfan

Fun! My best friend got Dorothy, so I got to help her with her lines and stuff.

I would love to see your answers in this survey, by the way, to see if we have anything in common. :)

1. What's the first musical you ever saw live?

I think it was Oklahoma, at our local highschool (a family friend was the lead) but I was like six so I don't really know.

Oh no.

4. What was the first show you were ever in?

Our church put on this musical when I was five that had something to do with baseball and Bible verses. I had one line.

5. What's your go-to audition song(s)?

I don't really have one... If I had to go to an audition tomorrow I'd do "Don't Rain on My Parade" from Funny Girl because I've been working on it recently.

6. Any dream roles?

I think I'd be able to pull of Katherine from Newsies pretty well if I had the chance.

7. Which is your strongest/most-experienced suit: Acting, singing or dancing?

I'd say acting-- I've had the most experience with it-- but singing is a close second.

8. What's your least-strongest/least-experienced suit: Acting, singing or dancing?

Definitely dancing! I took ballet for about five years, then quit before I got to the most advanced part. I can learn simple

1. What's the first musical you ever saw live?

Gosh, my parents took me to all sorts of shows/musicals as a little kid b/c I was so awed by them. I hardly remember any of them, but I want to say that one of the first was Seussical the musical?

2. Are you any shows right now? If so which one(s)?

Beauty and the Beast (I play Silly Girl #2), and I'm about to audition for Alice in Wonderland.

3. Do you dance?

I tried when I was a kid. When everyone went right, I went left. What? I like left!

4. What was the first show you were ever in?

The Tale of Three Trees the Musical with a small homeschool dance program. We said all the lines over the lines on the soundtrack, so I don't really count that one. I played the main girl tree. What was her name? Gabriella? Something like that. My first real, big show was The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (the musical), in which I played the very energetic and fun part of The Squirrel.

5. What's your go-to audition song(s)?

Candle on the Water from Pete's Dragon and Beauty and the Beast from...well...Beauty and the Beast.

6. Any dream roles?

I've always wanted to play Peter Pan since I was a kid. When I finally did the show, however, I got Liza, the maid. That's still a dream of mine. I also really want to play Jo in Little Women.

7. Which is your strongest/most-experienced suit: Acting, singing or dancing?

Acting by far.

8. What's your least-strongest/least-experienced suit: Acting, singing or dancing?

Ummm, singing or dancing...that's hard. I can pull both off with a lot of practice and I work well under stress, so I sometimes don't do a musical number right until opening night, Surprised. I guess I'd have to say singing.

9. What was the most recent show you saw live?

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, actually. It wasn't the same production I was in a long time ago, but it sure did bring back some fun memories.

10. What are your current musical obessesions?

Hamilton and Anastasia.

11. Do you go to a performing arts school?

Like Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities? Or like a school that supports performing arts? I'm not a public or private school kid, but my homeschool academy offers Advanced Drama. I also attended the Governor's School program (but for creative writing) in the summer, and they offered a WONDERFUL drama program. I got to see part of Hamlet performed by some graduates with real swords. IT WAS AWESOME! PEOPLE DIED!

12. Are you in a chorus/ glee club?

Nope. I don't sing.

13. Are you a Soprano, Mezzo, Tenor, Alto, Baritone or Bass.. (etc.)?

Alto :) a very limited one.

14. What show were you most recently in?

Believe it or not, I've already been in Beauty and the Beast once this summer (playing Mrs. Potts, my first big role), and now I'm doing it again (playing a Silly Girl).

15. Did you enjoy this survey?

Very much!
