Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Hello CBers,

You may know me from my fanfiction on the Inkwell, Young Flame. I am here with a request on another story I may or may not be posting. I have five characters from this story that I have trouble seeing in my head. If I give you personality descriptions, would it be possible to get some different sketches or art pieces of them? Xiè xiè to anyone who complies.

All hail the following heroes-

Geming:
Wields fire(huo). Creative and determined. He provides the group with legends dating back to the first war Five, some of which have an uncanny resemblance to real life. He can get carried away sometimes when trying to make a point. His hair is cut short and is not put up. Sort of like Zuko’s in season 3(Avatar).

Yanshi:

Wields earth(tu) Yanshi is strong willed and a fighter. She can be pretty stubborn. Hates stereotypes and gender discrimination, for this reason she took up warrior training in Zhandou. Skilled in hand to hand combat. She wears her hair in a braid so that it stays out of the way.

Jing:

Wields wood(mu) Kind and optimistic. She doesn’t tell the plants, she requests of them. If ever there was a more spiritual girl, my name wouldn’t be red tailed panda. However, sometimes her cheerfulness can be more than a little irritating. Acrobat. Idk her hair.

Fengwei:

Wields metal(jin) His right leg had to be amputated, and in place of it stands a metal one. He is sensitive of it, and doesn’t want to be looked upon as any less. Because of this, he is commandeering, acts self confident, and a bit rude. He carries a jian, a type of sword, which is a bit twisted as a result of him first manipulating metal. He wears his hair in a topknot.

Bolin:

Wields water(shui) Quiet, but not shy. A warrior, but never bloodthirsty. He both destroys and he heals. He observes first and then interacts. Carries waterskins(see Katara’s, from Avatar). Tan skin and his hair style is similar to Sokka’s(from Avatar).

Keep in mind that their features and attires are Chinese, preferably styled from the Qin to Han dynasties.

Actually, if you're speaking Mandarin, "mei" is the negation of "you," which is pronounced "yo." "You" means "to have," "mei you" meant to not have, and "wenti" means questions, or, I guess, problems. So "mei you wenti" literally means "don't have questions/problems," but it really means "no problem" I guess. Don't take this all to heart though, I only started learning Mandarin this year.

I don't know if you're still looking for pictures, but I did one.  If you like it, I'd really enjoy doing more!

(Heh, your characters are really cool)

Rtp here!

And Lily again! I’ve decided to talk like an Æ!

Yes. Lily is here again. She’s my module partner for this rotation and we’ve just finished our session.

Therefore, I am free to comment on your BE-YOU-TI-FUL art work. @Alta nice shading there! Any tips for the amateur?

If you’re wondering how our text is so perfecting synchronized, here is the answer: A shared google docs. Oh, yes. Nice job guys! @Marigold I like what you did for Jing’s dress! She looks so peaceful! @Alta, Yanshi looks so fierce! Nice braid too!

I am in heaven! I might actually join the... What did you call it rtp? Oh yeah. The CB. I might actually join the CB for this artsy stuff!

It’s the CB, Lils. Well, teachers looking at us weirdly. Gotta go!

@Lily

I don’t really have any specific tips. Mostly just think about how something would have a shadow in real life. If two objects are interacting or are near each other, think about how one shadow would fall on the other. Also, try to blend the different values so that you don’t have sharp lines in between each section of shadow(unless what you are drawing has sharp lines).

Thanks so much! My style is pretty cartoony as of now, so I’m always looking for ways to improve it.

That’s because you basically try to copy the styles from ATLA!

Hey! I’m not the one writing TWO FANFICS AT ONCE.

Oh, I was just looking through the comments again and saw Applejaguars post! Yes, she is correct! I got mixed up there, sorry. Must have been frustrated with my autocorrect or something.
