Island Escape

Island Escape

You walk along the beach looking for sea glass from the recent storm. As you stoop to pick up an extra large one, you see something stuck in the sand a few feet away. You walk over and pull up a small bottle. As there appears to be something inside of it, you put it in your bucket and take it up to the house and enter the privacy of your bedroom. Flopping down on your bed, you pop out the small cork, and pull out a piece of slightly damp paper.

“Dear Receiver of this letter.

You have been invited to an eleven day vacation on a small, unknown island in the middle of the ocean. Unfortunately I will not be able to join you for this trip, but everything has been arranged, so there is no need to worry. You and ten other special guests will spend the vacation enjoying the beach, riding zip-lines, exploring hidden caves, having pillow fights in a giant room dedicated to this purpose, reading your favorite books in the library, wandering through the giant bounce-house maze, and living in your favorite books or tv shows in the fandom room. All you need to do is fill out the enclosed form, and returning it to the sea in this bottle.

(just so you know, if the bottle is not returned to the sea with the form within an hour of being opened, it will explode. Very sorry. It is the only problem with this form of communication)”

The Master

You shake the bottle upside down, and are rewarded by a small form, and more sand than should have fit into the bottle. Ignoring the fact that your quilt is now very sandy, you sit down at your desk to fill out the form. You don’t really want to be blown up, and if you go, you might survive.

Well excuse me for seeing personality quizes made by non-physiatrists as clickbait and a waste of time. I do have the freedom of speach... although the admins tend to cencor it when it comes to polititcs.

But you also have the freedom of speach so you have the right to say what you said. though I honestly don't care if I get into an arguement or someone hates me. I won't be hurt, never be hurt, because I can't be hurt. I do however, thank you for your concern.

@The Writer, yes, we do sometimes censor comments because this is a private forum with its own rules. Comments about politics or other controversial topics, comments that are inappropriate for ages 9-14, and rude or hurtful language go against our rules so we delete or modify these comments. Of course you have your freedom of speech, which means that the government cannot arrest or persecute you for speaking about your beliefs. There are many places in the real world and online that allow for unmoderated discussion of any topic you like. Here on the CB we moderate comments to make this a kind, respectful place for kids to discuss reading, writing, art, and life.

I'm sorry if I offended you. I'm simply saying that, though you do have freedom of speech, you should be careful with it as it may offend others.

Day Four

Death is strange. And somewhat welcoming at times. Some are scared of it. I, The Master, am not. People puzzle me with their strange ways of delaying death. They should welcome it. True, I am a person, but I am different. I am strange. I welcome death. But it is slow. The cages around my couch glow with the eyes of my beasts. I lean back and close my eyes.

The Writer sat in a chair humming softly. Leafpool lay face down on her pillows, a notebook sitting next to her.  The Artist wandered around the room, bumping into stuff. Allie, Shy Peacock, and Aspen sat in the corner. The door swung open, and Vyolette charged in dragging a disgruntled Viola?. “Why does everyone drag me everywhere?!?” she yelled, shooting a sticky note at The Artist, who was sitting on the floor laughing. Vyolette let go of Viola?’s arm, and jumped onto an empty bed. “Everyone shut up and listen! We have discovered the bounce house maze!” The quiet room dissolved into chaos as everyone dove for the door. Viola? waved her hand at them, and a wall of sticky notes rose up, separating the Cbers from the door. Vyolette gave her a pleased smile, and cleared her throat. “We found the maze, but we need to be organized. We will have to split up into groups of four. There are eight of us, so this will be perfect. And no complaining.” The room was filled with groans, but everyone collected into the groups, and soon the room was empty.

Viola? led her group out of the building and along a narrow path, followed by Vyolette and her group. They turned the corner, and the air was filled with excited yelps. Vyolette bowed her group through the little door and into the biggest bounce house they had ever seen. Tunnels branched off in every direction, slides stretched down to giant rooms, and holes led down to underground rooms. After the tunnels had been inspected, Allie ran over to a hole, and dropped down it. The Writer, Viola?, and Leafpool followed, plunging down about ten feet, and bouncing up to the ceiling several times. Bounding down the underground tunnels, the group traveled quickly to the heart of the island. Flopping down on the floor, and staring up at the hundreds of glow-sticks hanging from the ceiling, the group began to argue about what to do next. The argument ended when Allie gave a huge bound, and flew through the air into a small pocket that didn’t go anywhere. This doesn’t sound like a good reason to end an argument, but she hit the wall pretty hard and was sitting on the floor, rather stunned. Leafpool got up to help her, but when she was about five feet away, there was a strange noise, and the pocket was sealed. Everyone stared at the wall in shock. Allie screamed from inside the pocket. Leafpool, not about to lose anyone else, pulled out her pocket knife, and ran at the wall yelling. There was a thud as her knife hit the sealed pocket, and she was thrown back across the room. She hit the opposite wall, crying, and Allie screamed again, and began sobbing. Viola? grabbed the knife from Leafpool, and began to hack at the wall, screaming at Allie to hold on. The crying stopped. The Writer banged on the wall, calling for Allie to respond. Silence. Slowly the group realized that Allie would not be going home with them.

The murderer smiled when Allie was not present for the quiet dinner that night.

Sorry this took so long. I had writer's block.

Why am I so excited to be dead? Oh well, it's the very first time I've ever died in a ski lodge. I hope everyone makes it home safe!
