Instruments?

Instruments?

Does anybody here play any instruments? I picked up clarinet when I joined my school band last fall, and I really love it. Being in my school band has been such a great experience, and I've met some really amazing people through it. I also sorta self-taught myself piano. I memorized some songs and exercises and play them on a piano sometimes. I just have to get someone to show me where middle C is.

I can also sorta play the flute. When I tried out the flute in my band class at the beginning of the year, I was actually better at playing the flute then the clarinet, but I chose the clarinet anyway, and I'm glad I did, because I wouldn't have met some really awesome people if I played flute.

Violin! And another Admin plays viola.

I play cello in my school orchestra. I wanted to play viola at first, but instead I played cello, and now I can't imagine playing viola. I have also played piano since I was 6, so this is my 7th year playing piano. I really love them both and music in general. :)

Wowo! A fellow clarinetist, hello! I tried the flute once, I could barely play one note - it takes a lot of air support. I've never tried any string instruments, but my friends and I like to make viola jokes because we watch this channel called TwoSet and they play violin.

I have a clarinet joke:

What's the difference between a mouse and a clarinet?

You can't hear a mouse squeak above an entire band.

Yes, I love TwoSet! They make me crack up! I don't hate violists like TwoSet, because it's hard to hate your crush...

anyway.

I play alto saxophone. I really want to play tenor too, and this year my band teacher was going to teach me because we need some one to do it for our concert, but then this bass clarinet guy swooped in so now I'm not... and he brags about getting it all the time. Anyway...

I've played violin for about nine years, and piano for five! Piano's okay, but violin is definitely my favorite :)

I'm a percussionist! So really, I technically know a whole lot of instruments. Drums, cymbals, mallets, triangles, tambourines and such. I also know a little bit of guitar and I took a few years of piano before starting band, so that helped a lot with knowing bells, mallets, marimba and such.

I'm a drummer! I love the drums so much, and I've been playing for about a year now. I would recommend drums to anyone who has trouble reading music and prefer rock/pop to classical. I've previous played piano and cello, both of which I was terrible at. Drumming is so cathartic, and I release all my energy into it. My brother is a guitarist, so we play together sometimes.

I'm learning guitar! At first I was trying to teach myself how to play, and I didn't have a lot of motivation, so I kind of quit for a while, and then recently I've been thinking I wanted to find some online guitar lessons or something. I told my parents that, and then about fifteen minutes later I opened my phone and the first thing I saw was someone I follow mentioning that Fender (a guitar company) was giving out three months of free online guitar lessons. So now I'm using that to learn, and it's going really well! :D

I've been taught how to play 5 instruments (clarinet, soprano ukulele, tenor ukulele, concert ukulele, and baritone ukulele), and I picked up one more (piano) as well. Hello to all my fellow clarinetists! I've been playing clarinet for 6 years now, going on 7. I'm in my school's most competitive band and I also play in the marching band during the fall. As for ukulele, I started learning soprano around the same time as clarinet, so about 6 years ago. I picked up concert and tenor, too, since they're incredibly similar, and I own a tenor. I started playing the baritone ukulele-- which is only a little smaller than a guitar-- probably about 4 or 5 years ago, maybe? I don't remember exactly. I want to learn how to play the bass guitar soon, but with the quarantine order in place, I won't be able to leave for a while.

I’ve been playing violin for 10 years and I love it!  I play in my local youth orchestra.  I would like to learn trombone and guitar.  I’ve tried viola and I enjoyed it but it’s not something I want to pursue.

I have played violin for 10 years. I've tried piano and viola. I've always wanted to play cello. I love all the connections I have made through music and all the people I have met. I go to two music camps in the summer and I play in my school orchestra.
