So I just

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

So I just

So I just got back from seeing New Moon with Kathy. As a whole, it was SO much better than Twilight. A few ranty spoiler points I'd like to make:

1. First of all? When one of the Volturi was looking in Alice's mind and seeing the whole vision about Bella-will-be-turned-into-a-vampire... That was *hilarious*. It was like Edward is some strange white shirt and Bella in a dress dancing around in the woods. Very random. Very strange. Kathy and I just involuntarily burst out laughing.

2. Sam as a wolf looked like a warthog. It's true.

3. The torture scene was EPIC. I was like, "THIS is why I paid $8.50 to see this movie." Dakota Fanning at her absolute best. And every now and then they'd flip back over to KStew, who was watching with a positively *shell-shocked* look on her face. That was amusing.

4. RPattz with no shirt = not good. At all. At least Taylor Lautner looked okay... RPattz, no. Just no.

5. Wish Victoria had gotten more screentime; she has an excellent actress. RPattz and KStew, though, just get worse and worse. Ashley Greene was really good, though. I like Alice better as a result of this.

6. Jasper's face... Jasper's hair... dear me.

7. The new director (who did wonders for the movie) realized that if you add in humour, Twilight suddenly becomes tolerable. The movie scene with Bella, Jacob, and Mike was funny in an average enough way.

8. I think I officially love Jessica <3 The "girls' night out" with her and Bella was another example of how humour makes Twilight etc. okayish. May've also had something to do wth the zero Edward factor. But, er, WTH with Bella getting on that creepy guy's motocycle and just riding around with him? Very much not in the book. I think I love Mike too. "So, now that you're talking... And eating..."

9. The underwater scene with Bella and Victoria and Edward and Jacob was really strange. Especially the bit with Bella 'n' Edward...

10. Bella's hallucinations. Say what? I don't recall her getting a scarecrow-like vision of Eddy in the books. (he does look like a scarecrow, seriously) Even if that was canon, it was still quite odd how it was portrayed. As I've said before, hearing my boyfriend's voice in my head would probably tell me it's time to *stop* diving off cliffs.

11. Birthday party scene courtesy of Alice. SO. CORNY. The way they emphasized the blood falling to the carpet and did the blurry thing for the speed and all... *snirk* It was very overdone. And Jasper had the creepy In Serious Pain look on his face.

That's about it for now, I s'pose... cheers for no fluorescent lighting... boo to RPattz and KStew for poor acting... Lautner and Green were good... the Volturi scene, tackiness aside, was a thing of beauty... What'd everyone else who saw it think?

I did tell you, yes?

1. *glimmer glimmer glimmer* *smirk* Aro had a creepy laugh, I might add.

2. A giant, overly hairy warthog.

3. I maintain that Jane is a weak ripoff of Bella and I must therefore hate her for it; however, she did make Ed writhe around in pain for a bit so I can forgive her... a little. Also, KStew ALWAYS looks shell-shocked.

4. Looooked like a zoooommbbieee... Seriously.

5. I KNOW, RIGHT?! and then they went and lkajdf;aohep;a RECAST HER for Eclipse, in which she was featured heavily towards the end. *glares* For all her bad performance in Twilight, RL redeemed herself in New Moon. It helped that they dyed her hair the right colour.

6. Yes. Exactly. They should have casted someone who was (a) actually blonde and (b) could perhaps pull off the vacant, pained stare look.

7. Charlie was funny in the first movie, you have to admit. With the pepper spray, and the whole, "Bring him in. [chk-chk]" gun thing.

8. And she was nice, whatever the fangirls say to the contrary. >.>

9. and 10. If you'll remember, the movie gave rise to the brain tumor theory, not the books. For precisely this reason.

11. What sort of masochistic idiot doesn't immediately shove their finger in their mouth when they get a paper cut? Those things HURT.

1. He did. The guy on his right looked like Frankenstein, though...

2. And they were not "taller than a human while on all fours," either.

3. Well, yes, I agree she was a ripoff of Bellatrix. But no less fun to watch, though. Sans the part where she creeeeepily murmured, "Pain"... That was definitely a ripoff of Bellatrix, and creepy. Though I s'pose Bellatrix would start dancing and scream it, yes?

4. Always.

5. So I hear... Who'd they recast her as?

6. And "I vote yes... Now I won't have to worry about eeeeating you" was not as funny as the rest of the people in our theater seemed to think.

7. Oh, yes, I liked Charlie in both movies. Bella is horribly mean to him, though.

8. Yes. Again, Bella was horribly mean to her.

9/10. I'm inclined to think you may be right. (Note: "Yeah, adrenaline... It's my *thing*..." What?)

11. And then Jasper, what, slammed into the piano and cracked it open? Excuse me?

Re: Victoria recast: She's been replaced with one Bryce Dallas Howard. Why, I don't know. Scheduling conflicts, apparently, which is stupid because the leads have had scheduling conflicts too and replacing an extra for a *looks up* ten day conflict is STUPID. STUPID, STUPID. There's no REASON for it. Poor performance in Twilight aside (which was due mostly to having zilch to do with the plot), she was BRILLIANT in New Moon, never mind that she didn't have any actual lines (which is pretty impressive, I mean, you have to be a good actor to excel as a villain who was clearly hated by her author and didn't have any actual lines).

Seriously. The conflict could have been smoothed over with one little phone call. It was literally only like ten days overlap. You do not let actors out of three movie contracts over a ten-day overlap. *rants some more*

My theory is she got replaced because Bryce is (apparently) a bigger name. I've never heard of her, but then that's not really saying too much.

And of all the people they could've recast they had to choose the ONE ACTOR who I was really looking forward to seeing in the upcoming movie. The rest I could care less about, except maybe Billy Burke. *screams*

It's okay. (Well, yes, it's annoying actually..) Have you ever seen Bryce Dallas Howard act, or d'you know what she's been in?

Also, doesn't Victoria die in Eclipse?

Of course, I've never heard of BDH either... *looks up on IMDB* Apparently she was in SpiderMan 3. Okay...

From what I've heard of her she [Bryce] seems to make a career out of other actress's reject roles.

Oh. Yeah, I saw her in Spiderman. ...She isn't villain material at ALL. *shakes head very fast* *bemoans Rachelle's replacement*

And yes, Victoria dies in Eclipse. Twas very sad.

She sounds positively brilliant. ;)

I'd have to watch it again to recognize her...

Who killed her? Mom didn't let me read past page 50... exasperation...

1. *laughs uncontrollably*Ooooh! I'm crossing a beam of sunlight in a freaky blue dress! *shimmeryshimmerydiscoball* My mom, my two friends, and I all starting laughing so hard we just about died!

2. Yup. Warthog.

3. Pretty good scene.I really like Dakota Fanning. (A few months ago my mom was like "I can't believe it!! I heard they cast some tall blond as Jane!!! I can't believe it!!" and freaking out and then she heard they cast Dakota Fanning... "Dakota Fanning??? Dakota Fanning!! That's the bast person they could've cast!!! She'll be great!! Oh my gosh!!" It was pretty hilarious!

4. BELCH!!! He looked like he didn't have any clothes on when they shot him from the waist up! *nearly throws up*

5. Agree about Victoria. Sometimes about RPat and KStew. Ashley Greene is awesome.

6. The look, the hair... Yipes.

7. Liked the director this movie! I loved hoe they added in how the wolves chase Victoria off the cliff and that is why Bella sees her. They added in a few things that were better than the book, I have to say.

8. Mike and Jessica are okay. Yeah, what the heck was that wierd "ride on some random guy's motercycle" thing????

9. Yup.

10.Yes, visions = extremely odd. They needed more RPat in the movie (they said) so they made the halucinations instead of voices. Yes, hearing my boyfriend's voice in my head (or seeing him or whatever) would deffinitly freak me out.

11. Overdone. Cheesy. KStew didn't even look like she was in pain! She was like "Oh. Papercut." and that was it!

I was laughing so hard when they were in the elevator in Italy and when  Alice showed Aro that vision... Bwah! Why did  they recast Victoria? Didn't she like, break her contract or something along those lines?
