ultimate music thread!

ik we have some music threads already, but i've had this idea for a while, and thought it might be fun?

here you can discuss music, fangirl/boy/person about your favorite bands, scream lyrics into the void, ask for and give song recommendations, share playlists, whatever! have fun, go crazy, and don't damage your ears :D

Yayy this is such a good idea!

All right, so I'll admit it, I like country - a lot of older country is cheerful and just happy, and I never thought I liked modern country until a few months ago when I came across a radio station that plays it, and now I listen to it about 70% of the time. Some of the songs aren't too good, but then you have "She Had Me At Heads Carolina" by Cole Swindell (I <3 <3 that one) and "Buy Dirt" by jordan davis, and though I can definitely see how they could be disliked by a lot of people, I do recommend them - also "I Don't Want This Night to End" by Luke Bryan. And then "She Had Me" is a spinoff of sorts of "Heads Carolina, Tails California" by Jo Dee Messina, who has a couple of absolutely lovely songs - "I'm Alright" is also sooo good. Idk, maybe part of it is that I listened to it in summer when I was super happy and now it just reminds me of that, but I think i'd like it anyway ;)

I really love Martina McBride too, as most of you probably know XD - she's just so happy and positive and at the same time so meaningful, and there's something about her music that I just really love. In little apartments, just trying to get by/Living on, on dreams and spaghettios... Some of Alison Krauss' songs always feel so comforting to me, or they're just meaningful. Her album of Paper Airplane is good, but my favorite album of hers is New Favorite.

And there's all the music from other cultures that I love too - Mohsen Yeganeh has good music, and Turkish pop is for some reason lovely, and Mexican and Spanish music can be really good too. Spanish guitar is amazing~

@Rora, omg, the Rick Astley song XD I actually don't think it's such a bad song... It's so nice to see you again!! Hope you can stick around :))

Oh, and I never thought I'd like Taylor Swift, but y'all have convinced me that she's not so bad - I still think her voice isn't that great, and she isn't my favorite artist ever, but I regularly listen to a couple of her songs - "Love Story" and "Fifteen" and ofc "Red" <3 Anyway, sorry for the looong post :/

Okay, as you all probably know, I like any and all music (yes. Literally. Every single song except for like three and... I'm so sorry Hawkstar, but yeah some of the songs by BTS, though I can see why ppl would like it), but popping in here to say PLEASE please please, if you haven't already, listen to fen xiang (English translation: Share) by Sky Wu! It'd be great if you could find the video with the English translation of the words too (beautiful lyrics <33) but yes thank you!!

If you like country, then maybe try listening to Kacey Musgraves. Her songs are very nice; my favorite album of hers is Pageant Material. And, I don't know if you've listened to these, but Fearless (the song, not the album) and You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift are also very nice. (Taylor Swift's first album, Taylor Swift, is also sort of country-ish, I don't know if you've tried it, but it's really nice too.)

lizzy mcalpine released a new album called Older!! i haven't had a chance to listen to the whole thing, but the few songs i've heard from it are really good. once i finish listening to it, i'll be back with my thoughts! anyone else a fan of her music? if you aren't, it's kind of a softer indie pop/folk, ig? my favorite album (so far) is five seconds flat :]

My discover weekly gave me a song this week called "Kleptomaniacrow" and it is such a good song with SUCH a good story line. Who knew a three mintue (give or take) song could have a story line that would fill the pages of a BOOK!
