I saw Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief today!!!! Even though it wasn't much like the book it was still AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! Has anybuggy else seen it yet? We almost didn't go see it today because we heard it was supposed to snow AGAIN today. And it did actually snow!!! We were playing in it, now I'm wiped out and my hair is a mess. So anyway, there was Lady Gaga's Poker Face song in the movie! Right when I heard the beginning of the song I started to laugh. There was also Tik Tok, Grover was dancing to that one at the Lotus Casino. Watching a half goat dance is very funny.

Hm... I saw it last night.
As an adaption of the book? It wasn't good.
As a stand alone movie? Pretty decent.
Except...
WHOEVER WROTE THE SCRIPT NEEDS TO READ UP ON THEIR GREEK MYTHOLOGY.

I loved the movie, but agree that it didn't follow the book at all. What's this about a quest for pearls (that don't even look like pearls)? What happened to the River Styx? And Charon? Plus they left Grover in the Underworld. Not supposed to happen! Overall, though, very good, and the special effects were great. I loved the combat sequences because they looked very believable, not like a bunch of actors/actresses wildly swinging swords around. Does anyone know if they're going to continue the movies?

I kinda doubt it. I mean, they took out the plot of the first one, and that was, as I recall, important for the plot of the following books, so they've really backed themselves into a corner.

My sister, last night, was thinking that maybe why they had Percy Jackson and the Olympians:The Lightning Thief come out on the day that the Olympics is because the people competing in the Olympics are called Olympians and the title of the Percy Jackson movie has the word "Olympians" in it. I thought that idea was really clever.

OMG!!!!!!!! I SAW IT TOOO! I loved how they played Poker Face in there, and I started to laugh when they started playing that, too! That is my favorite part in the entire movie, and yeah, I'm going to have to go through life with that image of Grover in my head. *is irritated* Even though it wasn't as good as the book, it is definitely my favorite movie. That was so funny when they started playing Tik Tok. I think Poker Face is a genius song. And did you notice how Medusa looked like she had actual snakes growing out of her actual head???? That was so cool!
