Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Peter Pan.&n

Peter Pan.

I am in Peter Pan.  I have lines.  I will not be having a mike.  I'm on satge longer than some people that have mikes.  They're voices are louder than mine.  The director has yelled at me to be louder.  I nead to wear make up.  I hate make up.

Did I mention the first performance is tomorrow?

But, it's all fine.  Last five rehearsals I was loud enough...  And I remember my lines, and when to come on.

I'll even recite my lines:

*gets dragged on stage by nana (mason)*  Me: "There, you suspicious brute, they are all perfectly safe, arn't they?  all of the little angels sound asleep in bed.  Listen to there gentle breathing."  Nana (Mason) pulls away.  "No more of it Nana.  I warn you if you bark again I shall go straight to master and missus, and bring them home from that party, and won't master give you a whippin' just.  Now come along, you naughty dog..."  *drags nana (mason) off stage*

And I am Liza, the maid.  A very small maid.  And my friend is Nana.  He's a boy.  Nana's a nurse.  Nana's a girl.  Nana's a dog.  I like that...

And, more lines:

*I walk in stage*  Me: "Nana's dinner is served."  Nana (Mason) walks off stage.  Me: "To think I have a master as have changed places with his dog."  Mrs Darling: "Out of remourse, Liza."  Me: "I'm a married woman myself!  I don't think it's respectable to go to his office in a kennel, with all the street boys running after him cheering.  There, that is his cab fetching him back."  Mr. Darling comes on stage.  Mr. Darling: "if you would be so good, Liza" Mr. Darling hands me his hat and coat.  Mr. Darling: It is very gratyfying."  I walk off stage as I say, "Lot of little boys."

Some of what I say I don't really understand.  Notice I'm a married woman.  A very small, five ft. married woman that's a maid and disdlikes dogs.  And Mrs Darling keeps on misspronouncing my name.   Oh, and don't forget to read it in a british accent...

And more of my lines:

Center stage, I say: "What is the matter, boy?"  Slightly: "They've all got a mother except me."  Me: "Is your name...  Slightly?"  Slightly: "Yes'm."  Me: "Then I am your mother."  Slightly: "How do you know?"  Me: I can feel it in my bones."  *I hug slitghtly*

Oh, and Slightly is a boy.  Who is taller than me.  Who is played by a girl.  And everyone has to speak in british accents.  I enjoy it, though, so I'm happy...

And everyone can be taught how to speak in british accents by someone!  Lets call him Tony...  He has a british accent!

I get to wear a black skirt, and a white apron, and a white shirt that gets tucked into the skirt.  It's all very uncomfortable.  Pllus the shoes.  *shivers*

And the show is tomorrow.  And I'm nervous(ish) for the first tiome ever in a play/musical.  Maybe because this is the first time I've had lines...  And I'm not singing or dancing.  I would enjoy being an indian...  I know of smudging and sweat lodges!

And I will probably forget what I was going to type a second after I hit send!

Sorry if this is to long,

Goodbye,

Ahhh!  I have done two performances, two more to go.  I hope I don't mess up.  Again.  I stuttered on the suspicious before, and last time I wasn't loud enough.

My friend (whom is also Mason's friend and one of the indians cousins) watched it tonight.  And Cloee's 'boyfriend' watched her...  She's five.  And cute.  XD

It seems on the performances you mess up more...  I don't like that.

The shows are really good...  And then I'll start ramling about stuff you don't want to hear.  i saw Tyler...  I just smiled at him, because I was ushered backstage.  But, anyway, I found that I live a street away from someone in it.  XD

Cool! Are you done now, then?

How long was it from the first rehearsal to the performance?

First rehearsal to performance: A little over four weeks.  Isn't much, is it?  This theater moves fast.  The next auditions will be on June 19th, for Alice in Wonderland.  I'm gonna try out.

It feels weird.  The last show ended about an hour ago.  And after today, I won't see anyone for weeks.  But, it is nice to have a break from having to go to rehearsals, and Ahhh...  I can actually go to bed earlier than midnight now!  Yay!  I'm so happy...

Wow! Did you have to practice every day, then?

I had two weeks of practice.  Peter Pan and the directors and people that were on stage for most of the play had to be there for four weeks.  Not on weekends.  Everyone neads breaks.  It took four weeks to get ready for the play.

People have asked me how the theater does this so fast, and my answer has always been, "I don't know."  And I don't know.  Maybe it's because Pam does not underestimate the cast, or something.  But the play/musicals I've been in there worked out just fine.  And it took even less amount of time for Aladdin.  I was surprised.  Alice in Wonderland will probably be over by late July, or early August.

Um, this turned out to be longer than I thought it would be...

Aragorn says, 'kbob'  OK Bob?  My names not Bob, Aragorn.  But you don't care, do you?

Yes.  Alice in Wonderland.  I'm going to try out to be in it.  Auditions are in a fortnight.  And the director is going to write songs for it!  She wrote a song for Peter Pan.  It was a mermaid song.  It was beautiful, but it sent chills down my back.  Sort of what you'd expect to find in one of Tim Burton's movies, the music she wrote.  I <3 it.  XD

Aragorn says 'teab'.  Tea bag?  To Eat A Bun?  Hmmm...
