Heath Ledger.

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Heath Ledger.

Heath Ledger.

Has anyone else heard of this brilliant and absolutely gorgeous actor? He was an incredible actor from Australia who was known for really getting into his characters and becoming them, basically. This is really what made him such a great actor. His early death at 28 deprived the world of hugely talented, not to mention gorgeous, actor.

Heath was born on April 4, 1979 in Perth, West Australia and moved to New York in later life. He and his sister, Kate, were named after Heathcliff and Cathy from the book, Whuthering Heights.  He was engaged to actress Michelle Williams for a while (but they never married) and had a daughter with her, Matilda.

Heath starred in 10 Things I Hate About You as Pet Verona, The Patriot as Gabriel Martin, Monster's Ball as Sonny Grotowski, A Knight's Tale as William Thatcher, Brokeback Mountain as Ennis del Mar, and The Dark Night as The Joker.

During the filming of The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, Heath died. He struggled with depression and was, at that time, taking many medications for depression, sleep, etc. On January 22, 2008, Heath Ledger took a fatal mixture of these pills and was found by his maid and masseuse and, after attempted CPR, was pronounced dead at 3:36 p.m.

Heath was an amazing actor that I hope will never be forgotten.

Rest In Peace, Heath Andrew Ledger

That's so cool that he and his sister are named after the MCs from Wuthering Heights; I didn't know that, although I had wondered why his name was Heath.
