Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

So, I know

So, I know I've been gone a long time, but hey, I had a good reason!!!!  I was in Fiddler on the Roof Jr!!!!!  MY FIRST PLAY EVER!!!!!!!  IT WAS AWESOME!!!!

I played Mendel, the Rabbi's son, which was a small part, but I had more lines than some people, and I was understudy to CHAVA!!!!  She's the part I really wanted, but I messed up my audition because I wasn't prepared... anyway, it was a three-week camp in Windsor, which was a bit of a struggle, because it was from ten to three every day, and after having been unschooled for so so many years, it was really hard, and I did have one little panic attack, but I recovered quickly, and had the best time I've had in YEARS!!!!!  I'm so so so sad that it's over!!!!!!!!  It's really tough, after finally having so many friends, and something interesting (albeit, stressful) to do every day for three weeks, and then have it end so quickly.  However, I got one of the girl's email, and I'm going to join the chorus run by the one of the teachers from the camp, and a lot of the kids from it were in Fiddler, so.  Anyway, I'm back, though mind you, if I don't come on again for a while, it's not because I'm mean, and have gone away forever, but because I have the worst memory in the world, and don't remember.  OK?

By the way, Happy Fourth Of July!!!!!!!  YAY!!!!!  I'm wearing a red skirt with a dark blue and white striped shirt... normally I would NOT put those together, but as I said to my mom this morning, that's the best part about Independence Day!!!  You get to wear horribly clashy outfits, and no one looks at you weirdly!!!!  :D :D :D

P.S. Is my smiley buddy still around???

*wanders off singing Tradition tunelessly*

Hi, Laura. Fiddler on the Roof is one of my very favorite musicals of all time! It has so many good lines and great songs. Even though I've seen and performed (violin) for it several times, I stiil bawl  when the daughter (was it Chava?) leaves  home.

Chava: "Papa, God alone knows when we'll see each other again."

Papa: "Then we'll leave it in his hands."

(Did I remember it right?)

My other favorite for beautiful songs and sad love story is Showboat.

That's really cool, Admin!!!  I saw the movie when I was little, but it didn't mean very much to me, but then when I saw it a week ago, I was sobbing!!!!  It was SOOO GOOD!!!!!!!!  I was really moved by it.

Also, you were very close.  It was Hodel who leaves home.  :)  I love that scene so much.  In fact, my singing teacher is having me sing Far From the Home I Love, for our Christmas recital this year!!!

Chava is the one who everyone shuns because she marries a non-Jewish Russian.  It's very sad when Papa is telling her that he will never accept them, and she is screaming for him to comeback.  Aahh!  My heart hurt so much in that scene!!!!!!!

I don't know if I've seen Showboat... I'll look it up!

Oh, wow!  That must have been an amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience!  I've only seen the movie, not the musical, but it is one of my favorites.

Congratulations! That must have been wonderful! I haven't actually heard of Fiddler on the Roof somehow, but it sounds great! Being in musicals is very fun...

@ R~D~: Yeah, she has been 16 for quite a while, I think... I understand confusion, though. This is when practically everyone has their birthday. Admin's is today! (Happy birthday admin! Again, even though I've said it twice already!)

Thanks again, Ima and everybuggy else.

LAURA!!!!! *flattens*  You're here!!!!  Yay!!!

Anyway, I just saw my friend in Fiddler and it was amazing!  That was the first time I had ever seen it and it was fantastic!  I'm sure you were great.  The songs are so beautiful and creative.  I really like the "Tradition" because of how big and grand it all is.  Oh, Admin, my friend in Fiddler was the fiddler.  He played the actual part usually played by a recording.  I know him from my violin group and he's really good.  It's really cool that you played in it.
