Latest musical obsession: the Cranberries.

I have two of their CDs, Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?, and No Need To Argue. Dreams is an amazazing song, as are Empty and I Still Do. I often listen to EEIDI,SWCW? before falling asleep, which could probably be classified as weird. Anyway. Anyone else obsessed?

Obsessed with the Cranberries? No, never heard of them (I'm not really a... bands... person...)

Obsessed with something musical: Yes. Bernadette Peters. She. Is. So. Amazing. And I get to see her in Follies this June (tickets are surprisingly cheap, like 86$ for orchestra seats. It's crazy). Follies! Bernadette Peters! Eee!

Also I'm in the middle of another Sondheim kick (the wordplay in Company is mind-bogglingly wonderful, Sunday in the Park With George is just beautiful in every sense of the word, Into the Woods is hilarious and meaningful, Sweeney Todd is just epic, Gypsy is... well, Gypsy, The Frogs is witty and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum is pure fun, Assassins is brilliant, and *is shot*) His lyrics! The rhymes! The crazy epic impossible rhymes and rhythm! Eeeeeee!

Oh, and Annie, because we're reading it in musical theatre at the moment. Miss Hannigan <3

And Patti Lupone a tiny bit because of Gypsy. In fact the 2008 revival of Gypsy been designated the official Math Homework Musician of the year, because her voice is good for math (last year was the 2005 revival of Sweeney Todd, also with PL). (but her laugh is creepy)

But yeah, mostly Bernadette Peters.

@TNÖ: Wow, this is two months old, but I could possibly revive this thread.  :)  I've seen you're many Sondheim posts, so I've slowly been looking everything up on YouTube and listening to it.  Yesterday, I listened to Gypsy.  And I <3 it very much.  Oh, and also Anyone Can Whistle which I'm REALLY mad I can't see.  *grrr*  I have no idea why it flopped, because it's really great.  *is annoying and confused*

I'm also been loving Alan Menkin/Disney-ish musicals.  Bought The Little Mermaid.  Fell in love with Sherie Rene Scott's wonderful, amazing voice.

But I seem to be in this little trial mode.  I'm figuring out all the singers I love, the musicals I love, and then I'll buy them all. :)  Oh, and by the way, Gypsy has been my official Math Homework Music.  Unfortunately, I can't decide which version I want to buy.  There's Ethel Merman, Bernadette Peters, and Patti Lupone and I think a few others on iTunes that I can find (though I listened to Angela Lansbury on YouTube).

Oh, and I watched almost all of Into the Woods on YouTube, but then a few videos were taken off for some reason of another (possibly copyright).  Then I saw it was on instant play on Netflix, so it's in our queue.  I'll watch it at some point. :)  But what I saw, I loved!  And the songs were in my head the next few days.

So, long story short, thank you for your random Sondheim ranting posts, because now you have made me rant about Sondheim. :)  I am continuing my listening marathon, and my iPod will probably be transformed by the time I'm done.  No, I'll never be done, but I'll change that to the time YouTube gets tired of me. ;)  Oh yes, and Bernadette Peters.  She's great!
