Yann Tiersen

Does anyone listen to him? Or rather, has anyone heard of him? He's a *I think* French composer. I'm listening to a piece by him right now (Comptine d'un autre ete: L'apres Midi). He's a great composer. (some) Of his music is sad and it works great when you're writing stories set in WWII or during that time period. Tiersen's works for Goodbye Lenin work especially great for Holocaust/WWII stories. (I think Goodbye Lenin, the movie, is in the post-WWII era.) He has several happy pieces. (Happy sounds lame, sorry.) Anyways, as I said in the beginning, has anyone heard of him or listened to any of his pieces? If so, what do you think of them? And which one(s) are your fav?

I have his soundtrack for the movie Amélie.  It's very pretty.  According to my play count on iTunes, though, I've only listened to it a couple times.  I'll listen to it more now.:) I have the sheet music for "Le Moulin" and "Sur le Fil", which are both from that movie.  I wouldn't recommend you watch it, though. :)

@Kenzie: I probably won't. Besides, isn't it in French? (I'm horrible at French) :-)

Yeah, I think it is, but it has subtitles.  I love French. :)
