I do all the time!  It is so much fun, in fact, now, I'm in a play of Beauty and the Beast, and it's a blast!  We are having so much fun!  Thanks for answering my questions. I always love to hear about other people!  Be sure to check back, because I respond!  Thanks!

What is your favorite song?

Too many to decide, so let's break it into categories yeah?

1. Favourite love song: With So Little To Be Sure Of (Anyone Can Whistle)

2. Favourite song of parting: Move On (Sunday in the Park with George)

3. Favourite patter song: Pretty Little Picture (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum)

4. Favourite crowd/ensemble song: A Weekend in the Country (A Little Night Music)

5. Favourite mental breakdown song (and I have a lot of these, so this is a legit category): Everything's Coming Up Roses (Gypsy)

6. Favourite eleventh hour number: Ladies Who Lunch (Company)

7. Favourite list song: A Little Priest (Sweeney Todd)

8. Favourite song about murder/murderers: tie between Ballad of Czolgosz (Assassins) and Chrysanthemum Tea (Pacific Overtures)

9. Favourite villain song: Last Midnight (Into the Woods) ((more of an anti-villain song, but whatever))

10. Favourite song NOT by Stephen Sondheim: Die, Vampire, Die! ([title of show])

Who sings it? (for me this becomes "who sings your favourite version of your favourite song[s]?)

1. Scott Bakula and Bernadette Peters (1995 concert cast)

2. Bernadette Peters (My favourite is the solo version she did in her Carnegie Hall concert, but also the OBCR with Mandy Patinkin)

3. Nathan Lane (1996 revival cast)

4. The closing cast of the 2010/11 revival AFTER Stephen R. Buntrock took over as Fredrick (ie, the cast I saw)

5. Bernadette Peters (2003 revival)

6. Barbara Walsh (2006 revival)

7. Angela Lansbury and George Hearn (filmed stage)

8. Neil Patrick Harris (2005 revival); Alvin Ing (+company; OBCR)

9. Bernadette Peters (OBCR)

10. [title of show] cast (OBCR)

Who is your favorite actress?

Take a look at my answers to #2 and then take a wild guess.

...Yeah, Bernadette Peters. SHE IS SO AMAZING.

Who is your fave, Actor?

Er... er... I don't really have one. A couple I really like are David Tennant, Neil Patrick Harris, Alan Rickman, and Johnny Depp.

Who is your favorite person in a movie?

Character-wise, you mean? Uhmm...

Can we count plays? If yes, then Charlotte (A Little Night Music), Iago (Othello), and Fay (Anyone Can Whistle)

If not, ah...

Actually, I think most of my favourite movies/characters from movies are movies of plays, so... Mrs. Lovett (2005 movie, Sweeney Todd), Olivia (1996 movie, Twelfth Night), Bellatrix (2007, 2009, 2010 movies, Harry Potter) [I realize there is a theme here. Shut up. She is a good actress (in fact one of the only strictly movie actresses who I actually like, most of them can't seem to act worth anything these days, why is that, do you think?).]

Oh, and Miss Hannigan, Rooster, and Lily (1989 movie, Annie) because they were the only part of that movie which wasn't painfully horrible to watch.

Do you ever pretend to be someone in a movie?

No... Sometimes I write MASSIVE CROSSOVER FANFICTION in my head involving various books/plays/movies getting mashed up together, but only when I'm really bored.

Dear TNO,

That's Great!!! We have  a lot of the same interests!  We both like Broadway music.  I too enjoy the Sweeney Todd film version staring Angela Lansbury, my most favorite actress and George Hearn.

I love hearing about your favorite things!  Thanks for responding!!!   I love it that you love Stephan Sondheim; not enough people appreciate who he was, or what he did as much anymore.   It's Great that you do!!!

Just wondering, what does TNO stand for?  And what's the connection to deep space?

If I remember correctly, Stargazer, TNO stands for The Nearly Omnicient, a nickname given to her by a Muse subscriber. She may have more info about it.

TNO = The Nearly Omnipotent. Mainly I just like the way "TNO" itself sounds.

As for deep space, I live in Wyoming, which I figure is close enough as makes no difference.

I personally think Sondheim is basically the Shakespeare of Broadway, with the additional bonus that he is still alive. And I cannot wait for Finishing the Hat volume II, seriously. (Self-commentary on Sunday in the Park with George AND Into the Woods AND Assassins AND Bounce AND/or Road Show? It will be EVEN MORE EPIC than the first installment!!)

[in all seriousness, read Finishing the Hat. It increased my (already sizeable) respect for the man by a factor of about three. AND I had to use a dictionary! Though if you're anything like me it *will* ruin your enjoyment of certain songs because it makes you hyper-aware of mistressing and distortion of syntax and lazy rhyming and overly clever (i.e., out of character) rhyming and improper use of slang and a slew of various other, to use Sondheim's phrase, cardinal sins of lyric writing. My lyrical snobbery now rivals my musical snobbery because of him.]

Also, YAY! MORE SONDHEIM LOVE! Because now we're getting silly things like *snort* Spiderman: The Musical, and musicals written by band artists and generic rock operas and jukebox musicals and it's all special effects and there NEEDS to be more love for the deceptive simplicity he brought to Broadway with his delightfully intricate wordplay, and I know that sounds like a contradiction but it really isn't.

[WHY is there a Spiderman musical? WHYWHYWHYWHYWHY it isn't even out of tryouts yet and it's the most expensive Broadway musical ever produced and WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.]

Random: It is about freaking time Sondheim got a theatre named after him. We walked by it on the way back from Night Music. 'Twas lovely.

I'm going to be horrible and cruel and ask What is your favourite Sondheim musical?

My own is like a five-way tie between A Little Night Music, Into the Woods, Sunday in the Park with George, Gypsy, and Anyone Can Whistle

Dear TNO,

I do like that name, it sounds really cool.  Wyoming is a neat place to live, very cold, right?  well, better than space:)

I comletely agree with you!!!   I also can't wait for the Finishing the Hat volume II!  It's going to be so awesome!!!

My favorite Soundheim musical?  ooh, you are cruel, I just love them all!!!   I think, at this very moment, it would have to be Gypsy, the version with Angela Lansbury of course.   I have the Cd and I listen to it all the time.  I also love all of his other musicals too, though, so, I really can't say for sure.

A Spiderman musical?  I must have missed that one, that sounds really dumb, why waste all that money for something like that?  While we're on the subject of dumb musicals, did you know that there is (or was) a Sherlock Holmes musical?  I mean, talk about wierd.

You mean Soundhiem doesn't have a theatre named after him?!?!?!?!?!  That's aweful! I mean, he's the greatest musical genious since... since... I don't know, but he deffidently diserves his own theatre.

Well, Wyoming is cold (got down to -50 without windchill about a week ago), though not as cold as space.

Bernadette Peters is my favourite Rose. And then Patti Lupone, and then Angela Lansbury, and then Ethel Merman. ((The glee version sends me into fits of incoherent rage.))

Yes.

Spiderman: The Musical: Turn Off the Dark. Currently still in tryouts, set to open sometime in May, currently the most expensive Broadway show ever (65 million?! You're kidding, right? NOPE. THEY AREN'T KIDDING).

The music is by some band. The book is said to be a mess, the music even more so, and with the rate of injuries caused by the overly complex machinery needed to stage the various flight scenes, it's only a matter of time before someone dies. Actor's Equity tried very hard to shut them down, but they're still going. OSHA and the New York state Labor Department got involved, too, after a stuntman (it's a Broadway show. It has stunt men. The sound you hear is my heart shattering into millions of little pieces) fell 30 feet during Act II.

It makes Disney On Broadway (which I do love) look like stripped down, bare bones high school stock.

It is the worst thing ever. It is not just dumb, it is absurdly expensive, dangerous, pretentious, and worse, it has music written by a band.

DO. NOT. WANT.

Sondheim DOES have a theatre now, but only since like last year I believe. It's quite lovely, and Steve (one of mom's clown friends; he and his wife, Susie, were our hosts for the Spontaneous New York Weekend Trip last mont) said it was quite spacious and lovely inside too (we walked by it on the way back from the play, I got warm fuzzies.) Still. He's been writing (professionally) since the fifties, it was looong overdue.

Dear TNO,

OMG.  It cost 65 million?  I just fainted.  And stuntmen?  WHAT ARE THEY THINKING!   It's Broadway!   I completely agree with you, this is ridiculous!!!

I would personally love to shut them down!  That is outragous!   And flight scenes?  Ok, Peter Pan was ok, but flight scenes?  What is happening to this world?!?!?!?!  ARE THEY OUT OF THEIR MINDS?   And music written by a band?!?!

Wow, this is so upsetting, I didn't know the people of today had sunk this low. I mean, not even getting a composer and lyricist to do the music, that's awful.  I just don't know what to say.  I think I'm going to cry!

The Sondheim theatre sounds lovely, wonderful. I'm so glad that they finally got around to it; you're right, it was totally overdue.

Dear Elizabeth,

So nice to hear from you!

I love those kinds of songs. I listen to them as well, they are awesome.  Taylor Swift, amazing!!!  I also like Natasha Beddingfield.

Anne Hathaway is so amazing!!!!  I have been accused of looking somewhat like her. I was totally flattered, but it isn't fair to Anne Hathaway.   Sandra Bullock?  She is the most fantastic..! I loved her in The Blind Side!!!   Steve Carelll is so hilarious!  and Orlando Bloom... sigh!  Handsome!!!

I pretend that I'm someone in a movie all the time; it is great practice in improvisation, which is great, because I'm going to major in Musical Theatre, and so all the practice in acting I can get is great.  Also, it's lots of fun!!!

Thanks for responding!  I loved hearing about your favorite things!!!

Yes, I saw Get Smart, it was awesome!!! Steve Carell reminds me so much of the origional Maxwell Smart, it was so funny!  I almost died laughing in some parts.

The Blind Side is an extrordinary movie.  So touching, it's amazing.  I couldn't stop thinking about that movie for weeks.  It touches a place deep inside of you... yeah.

Orlando Bloom...*Romantic sigh*  He is ssssooo handsome!!!  I just finished watching, for the first time, embarrassingly, Pirates of the Carribean 2  Dead Man's Chest, a few days ago, with my 12-year-old brother.  We LOVED the movie!!!  I adored Bloom in it, he was so heroic, and...*Sigh*  sorry:)

I like Amy Adams too.  She's great.  Which of her movies have you seen?
