Part 2 of

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Part 2 of

Part 2 of the Percy Jackson RP. So the other thread was finished and this is going to be part 2! Admin, I'm just wondering, has there ever been a part 2 of a thread before? Or is this the first one?

This is the first one to the best of my knowledge. In the past it seems that RPs have gone on and on and then just kind of petered out. You all brought this Part 1 to just a nice ending . . . , but allowing the story to go on if the writers so desire! Let Part 2 begin!

Sam—

I keptstaring at the girl. Why had I not guessed? Sophia was the most perfect exampleof Athena’s child. Her eyes were stormy gray and she had blond hair. Thoughbony, I could see muscles and strong arms. Her hands were made for fighting andholding a sword. Her eyes had a look of wisdom in them.

“There.”I got yanked out of my thoughts by Nell pointing at an island.

Boatslined the shore while ant like people rushed along the harbor.

“Whywould any goddess in their right mind hide themselves here?” I asked. Thunderboomed even though it was beautiful outside. “Sorry.” I whispered.

“Whatwill we do when we get there?” Sophia inquired.

“Thewoman’s song. We must find a woman’s song.” Tray told her.

“But alot of people sing.” Blake put in another stupid remark.

“Yeah. But this is special! It’s not like any other voice.” I yelled.

By thistime we had gotten to the far side of the island. We got off of our make shiftwater raft and walked onto the shore.

It wasstifling hot so, I was glad that I wore shorts. Bustling people, streetvendors, shoppers, tourists walked around.

“Okay, and now we just find the woman’s song.” Adonia said.

“Where?”I asked.

“Noidea.” Nell said.

Ismelled something that reminded me of roast chicken, gravy, potatoes… Mystomach growled loudly.

“Food?”Tray inquired.

“Food!”I exclaimed.

We walkedinto the crowd.

Tray-

I was wearing black short shorts and a gray Hollister shirt. Blake walked next to me on one side, Sam on the other. I smelled food. "FOOD!" I ran forward. "Tray! Wait!" They ran after me. I bumped into someone and fell over. I got up. The woman was dressed from head to toe in black. "Sorry," I muttered. "It's fine, child. Come with me. I'll get you something to eat. You look like you haven't eaten in weeks!" She sounded simpathetic, and I was too tired and hungry to realise that something was wrong. "That sounds great!" Totally forgetting about my friends, I walked with the lady like she was my mother. She was nice enough. She took me to a restaurant that smelled like steak. She let me order anything I wanted. I ordered steak with mashed potatoes and white rice, with chili on the side. For dessert I ordered two slices of apple pie with ice cream. I ate it all. It was the best food I'd had in months. "Yum." She studied me. "Here, come. I have something for you." "Really?" I followed her. 5 kids showed up and I thought I remembered their faces, and they started yelling my name at me but I didn't know them. I walked closer to the woman. "What are you going to give me?" I asked. "Here." She gave me a locket with a music note on it. I opened it and a song came up from the locket. Suddenly I was asleep. When I woke up I was tied to a table. Again. "Great. Last time this almost killed me. What am I doing here?" I asked no one. "In my home." Lights came on and a woman in black was in front of me. I was in dirt. "Great. I always wanted to be in the home of......." I trailed off. "Gaia," she said. "Great, that's nice," I muttered.

Whoa... they've found her.

Sophia--

Where was Tray?  There!  We ran after her.  "STOP!  Something's wrong, don't go with her!"

The two disappeared into a restaurant.

My heart beat a drum roll in my chest.  The woman who had come to see us... who had wounded my father... she was in black too.  I put my hand on my chest and breathed more deeply.   No, I told myself.  She was different.  She was veiled.  It was different.  It was different.

We sat down on the curb and waited.  A vendor came by.  We wanted something, but I had no money, and the others had only dollars and drachmas.  Drachmas.  The ancient coins of Greece.

Blake stood up and paced back and forth. "I'm going in," he said at last.

"We'll go with you," I say.  Sam and Nell and I stand up.

We brace ourselves and run into the restaurant.  Tray was finishing a huge meal that smelled good, but something was still wrong.

"Here, come," the woman was saying.  "I have something for you."

We ran up to her.  "NO!  Tray, STOP!"

She didn't stop.  She took the thing.  It was a locket with a musical note on it.  She opened it and a sweet song came out.  She collapsed.

Blake was on his knees beside her instantly.  "TRAY!  Wake up!  What have you done to her?"

The woman got up from her chair and advanced toward us.

"NO!  STOP!"

"Pick her up and follow me," she said, very quietly.

I was afraid what would happen if I didn't.  I looked into her eyes.  They had a hypnotizing effect.  I couldn't not obey.

I moved toward Tray.  None of the other restaurant-goers noticed any of this going on.  They just ate.

My new friends picked up Tray with me.  The woman walked past us and into a back room.

"Put her there," she said, indicating a table.

We entered the room and set her down.

"And now," said the woman, "good night."

The walls dissolved into dirt and roots.  The door disappeared.  The floor opened wide beneath our feet and I was falling.  And then I knew no more.

BULL-MAN!  NOO!  NOOOO!  NOT AGAIN-- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

I fell into wakefulness, landing with a jolt.  My eyes flew open and I sat up, fast.  My side hurt, but it was a dull ache, not a deadly pain as before.  Even with my eyes open, though, I couldn't see anything.  The floor was dirt, soft, loamy dirt, like compost, but better-smelling.  It just smelled like dirt.  There was no light.  I turned over onto my hands and knees and crawled cautiously in one direction.  Suddenly, I tripped and went sprawling over a tangle of arms and legs, with a scream.  Two screams.

"Who is it!?"

Nell.  Phew.  "It's me.  Sophia.  Wake up."

I can't see, but I can hear ner getting to her feet.

"What happened?"  "What's wrong?"

"Sorry," I say, gritting my teeth.  "I tripped over Nell in the dark."

"Where do you suppose we are?"  This from Blake.

"I don't know."

"Underground."

"Duh!"

"You suppose there's air in here?"

"Who was that woman?"

"I don't know."

"Gaia," Sam says.  "It must be Gaia.  The Earth.  Who else?  Dirt walls.  I'm feeling roots here, too.  AAH!  Oh.  Sorry. It's only a rock."

"Are you sure?"

"Of course," Nell says.  "A rock.  The bones of the earth."

"The bones of the earth?" I say.

"In the Greek version of Noah and the ark, the whole earth floods, except for this guy and his wife who are in a boat and they come ashore on a mountain.  As the water recedes, they're supposed to walk down the mountain, throwing the bones of their mother over their shoulders.  The stones the guy throws spring up into men, the stones the woman throws spring up into women." This from Nell.  I think.

"Ah."

"How big is this place, anyway?" Blake says.  "Don't suppose we can reach the ceiling?"

I feel above my head. "Can't reach it.  I am short, though."

The other feel too. "Consequence of malnutrition for seven years," Sam says. " Which reminds me.   I meant to ask when your birthday was."

"I think it's September the sixteenth," I say.  "It's been a while, though."

"I can't feel anything," says Blake.  "Nor I." "Nor I."

"Well.  So why did Gaia capture us then?"

Did you mean to switch tenses, Oregano?

Sam—

Sophia’s question hung in the air like a spider web. Why were we here? Why would Gaia capture us? It didn’t make any sense.

“Maybe she wants something!” I said out loud.

“But what do we have?” Sophia wondered.

“We’re half-bloods,” Nell suggested.

Was she wanting to make an army? Was Gaia, goddess of the earth, on the bad side? Why had she been so keen on Tray?

“Where’s Tray?” In all the suspense I hadn’t noticed that she wasn’t there.

“Yeah, where--“ Blake was cut off by a sweet grandmotherly voice.

“Children, come, eat with me,” she said softly.

We were somehow brought back up into the tiny restaurant. A table lain with food and candles stood before our eyes. It smelled so good. We hadn’t eaten for a few days and my stomach grumbled loudly. I couldn’t resist sitting down with the others.

“Eat, my dears.” Gaia’s soothing voice flowed into my ears.

Food, eat, food, eat… Stop it, Sam! My brain was falling for this trick. I didn’t know what but the food made me feel even hungrier than before and it was so tempting…

Blake took a bite out of his food and silently ate and ate and ate. I kept wondering why he wasn’t bursting from all he’d eaten.

Gaia walked in again, her black veils trailing behind her. She started to take up the plates. Blake’s eyelids seemed heavy and drooping.

“Good boy.” Gaia patted him on the back.

She went onto the next person, Nell. Her plate hadn’t been touched though her eyes showed depression at not having eaten the wonderful food.

“Why child! You didn’t touch your food!”

“I’m a vegetarian,” Nell lied.

“Tsk tsk. We’ll have to get a nice salad for you.”

“No, no…I’m really not hungry…”

“But look at your thin arms. All bones! What a pity! I’ll get you something. You can listen to some music during that time.” Gaia took a beautiful locket off her neck that looked like a musical note and opened it. A lullaby rang out in soft tones. I couldn’t help it. Sleep weighed down on me and soon I was asleep.

***

I woke. My hands were tied to a table. Ropes cut into my skin, darkness hovered around me.

“Hello?” I called.

“Sam?”

“Tray!”

“Why are you here?”

“I don’t know; where are we?”

“Dunno…A cellar maybe. Where are the others?”

“I don’t--“

Suddenly a scream broke through the darkness.

AGGGG! No.  I didn't.  I swear.  SEE WHAT I MEAN ABOUT WRITING IN THE PRESENT TENSE?????!

Like recently I had to write something for school and I thought... I'll just write in past, for practice!  Well, out of habit, I kept reverting to present, and wound up having to go back over the whole five-page document, changing the stupid tense.

I rolled my eyes at Nick. Such a showoff. Sure, he could become a lion. But hey, I could be an eagle. Anywhoozle, I walked back, hand in hand with Jason, back to the ship. I entered my suite and tossed my stuff on the couch, looking at my map and files. There were pictures of everyone, Nell, Tray, Sam, Jason, Nick, Me, Adonia, and now that Sofia kid. Nick, Jason, and I had circles around us for people on our side, the right side. Tray had devil ears and a mustache, Nell and Sam were drowning underwater, Sofia was colored in so you couldn't tell who it was, and Adonia looked like a witch, warts and all. The maps were maps of the world, countries colored in with places that we have recruited monsters. A Sycnthean Dracnae slithered into my room. "Misssss Fitzgerald? Mr. Rodrigusss wishess to sseee you." "Let 'em come in." She nodded and gestured for Nick to come in. I flopped on my bed and grabbed a Coke, scrolling through History channel, you know, for explosions and war and stuff. "What'dya want?" "Well, I need to talk to you. Are you sure about awakening Uranus? I mean, you're only 14, and it can seriously hurt you, and I just--" "Nick. Seriously. It's what I want to do. Stop worring about me." "Okay. Fine. You just need to know what will happen. He will encase inside your body, and he will control you. You won't be in charge. He will do what he wants. And the power can incinerate your body." I rolled my eyes. "Hey, I'm doing it. You decided to be in looove with that Hades chick. I can do stuff on my own. I'm 14, you know." I winked at him and walked out to the main deck, throwing away my Coke, ready to encase a god in my body.

I don't know if Uranus is a god so much as some weird primordial being... he's just... there... the sky... the mate of the earth.  Hey!  There's an idea!  Gaia captures them because she still loves Uranus.  She doesn't want Uranus to go into the body of Jennifer, so they're supposed to stop the Uranus-goes-into-Jenifer plot.  Does that make sense?

Sophia--

A scream pierced through the darkness, jerking me out of  the sweet sleep of Gaia.  What had happened?  The food... the locket... it all rushed back to me in a flood, leaving me in a cold and clammy sweat.

Who was screaming?  It had stopped, it had only lasted a second.  Was it Sam?  Or Nell?  Or Tray?  Or Adonia?  It didn't sound like it could be Blake.  Was it... Gaia?

Oh wait... it was me.  That's right.  That bull-man had come back again, flanked by skeletons... ugh.

"Sophia!" came a whisper out of the darkness.  Still jumpy, I yelped.  "What?  Who?"

"It's me... Sam.  Was that you who screamed?  What happened?"

"Maybe.  I don't know.  I was being chased by that bull-man and I think I screamed myself awake.  Sorry."

"Where are we now?"

"I don't know.  Why would Gaia dump us in a cellar, then feed us, then knock us out?"

"Tray, are you there?"

"Yeah."

"Listen, am I the only one tied to a table?"

"No, I am too."

"Me too."

"So'm I."

"Uh."

Silence.

"Blake?"

"Blake?"

"Blake!" cried Tray.

"Whuuuh..." came a muffled voice from a little ways off.

"Oh good... you are there."

"Wazomone callingme?"  [[Sorry if you didn't intend Blake to sleep like a rock.  That's the way I am at six-thirty in the morning :P]]

There was a kind of groan from Tray's direction.

"You guys are tied too?"

"Yeah."

"Don't suppose we can break free?"

"I've tried.  I'd break my arm if I pulled any harder."

"You might be free then."

"Thizztable's reallyuncumfterble."

"Well, try and get off of it, smarty pants!"

"Mmmkay..."

There's a sound like ropes being sliced.

"BLAKE!" shrieked Tray.  "What are you doing?"

"There's a knife right here on my table."

"Cut us free, then!"

He yawns a yawn even I can hear from the other side of the room.

"Blaaaake..." groans Tray.

"Ow!  Don't cut me!" says Sam.

"Sorryaboutthat."

More slicing.   Blake comes around to my table and cuts my bonds.  I sit up, wincing at my stiffness and the pain in my side.  He goes to Tray's table.

"OK," I say, standing and stretching.  "We all free now?"

"Yeah."

"Yeah."

"It doesn't make sense," says Adonia.  Why would Gaia tie us up only to let us get free?  And give us a way to get free?"

"I don't know," I admitted.

"OW!" yells Nell, and there's a thump.

"Nell!  Are you all right?" I leap toward the sound.  "OWW!"  OW.  Ow.  Ow.  So did Sam.  My head hurts.  The room that I can't see spins, and I feel sick, but then my vision clears and I can stand up again.

"Where's Nell?" says Tray.

"Right here," says Nell, as though she were clenching her teeth.

"You all right?"

"Maybe.  I just tripped over a huge rock.  I think there's a gash in my shin."

Sam groans.  I look towards her, but can't see her.

"Great," she says.  "Now who's next in line to give up their T-shirt?  And have we still got out backpacks?"

"I'll go it," says Blake.

"Naturally," growls Tray.

I crawl carefully away from them, hoping to find the walls of the cell and maybe with it a way out. Suddenly, just as I think I ought to have hit the wall, the floor collapses under my hands and knees.

I fell hard onto a dirt floor, a packed dirt floor, the uncomfortable kind.  Uhhnhnhhhnhhhnhh.  My side hurts again.  I try to stand up.

"Stay there."  The voice is honey sweet and kind.  Gaia.

I whip my head towards the sound, and there she is.

"What do you want with us, anyway?" I say.

"I have a favor to ask of you.  But not just of you.  Of all of you.  Call your friends down.  You may stand up if you wish."

I stand up shakily and look toward the ceiling.  There's a gaping hole where I fell through; the ceiling is tile, and it looks like one or two of the huge tiles were  deliberately left out.  A primitive trapdoor.

"Guys?  Come on down."

That's a really great idea! Let's do that :D :D

//Jenifer//

I step into a room with a giant hole in the roof. Probably for summoning Uranus. I step up to an tiny X marked 'Jenifer'. Huh, guess it's for me. The lights turn out, though I could see everything. Then a single light in the front of the room turns on, revealing some fairylike girls in chitons. They float over to me and change me into a male chiton (I guess that they're different for each gender...) and then disappear. Wish I could do that. Nick walks in and sits on one of the chairs. "Omigosh Nick, did you see any of that?!?" "Relax, idiot, I didn't see anything. Now stay calm or else Uranus will go in a different body. He has to go in yours, and yours only." I rolled my eyes, but didn't say anything. Then a train of people walked in, all carrying a giant sarcophogus. They opened it up, and I realized that the outside was covered of scenes. From my life. Weeiird. They gestured for me to lie inside like I should know what to do, so I walked in and they shut the door on my face. Someone outside clapped and a light turned on inside. Guess these things seriously got introduced to the future. A notecard appeared and floated onto my face. It said: '[Read this aloud] I, Jenifer Rebecca Fitzgerald, agree to the terms and conditions of taking on Uranus, the sky, the father of all beings, husband of Gaiea, and will not fight, argue, or frustrate him. He will take control of my body and togther, we will take over the world.' Pretty good, so I read it outloud. I closed my eyes, and let everything soak in. I felt like a sponge. I felt his memories, his hatred for the gods and titans, love/hatred for Gaiea, hatred for the people, so pretty much I felt a lot of hatred. Then it stopped. Just like that. I felt...manlier. If only a boy could do this, now I wouldn't know which bathroom to go in. It was strange being a boy, yet being a girl. Gosh, I hate these mixed feelings. I pushed open the sarcophogus and stepped out, sitting on the edge. "Soo, how do you feel?" Nick asked. "Pretty good. Awkward, but feels the same." Whoa, my voice is deeper. Still light and soft, but the slightest tone deeper. "Jen, uh, your eyes are silver. Like, really silver." I sighed, boys are so weird. It didn't matter, personally I liked silver eyes. I walked out of the room, I had a dinner reservation with Jason (a date, if you must) at 7, and I still needed to get ready.

It's ok. I  want Blake to be that 'must impress girl I like at all times' kinda guy. And heavy sleeper falls under that catagory. If ya know what I mean. ;)

Tray-

Lights went on. Blake's shirt was off and on Nell's shin. I felt kinda weird, but oh well. Gaia and Sophia were talking. They seemed to be disagreeing on something. Gaia threatened Sophia next, I was guessing from experience, then I started to feel a pain in my stomach. Soon it got bigger and I groaned. I doubled over. "Tray?" Blake's voice was confused. But he soon realised what was happening. The pain got stronger and everything became a blur. Then I heard Blake yell my name and everything was black. "Tray, Tray wake up." I heard it, but I didn't comprehend it until a minute later. "Wha?" I asked, completely confused. Things were still fuzzy. "Wha happen?" I asked, not able to fully say the words. "Gaia accident. Her powers accidentally went out of control," Blake said. That sentence brought me back to life. I knew that was wrong. I sat up. Blake was still shirtless. "No way. No ancient goddess type thingy can accidentally lose control over her powers," I said sternly. "That's what Sophie said." He sounded about as convinced as I was. I knew immediately that she was lying. "Where is she?" I asked. "Went somewhere with Gaia, why?" Blake asked. Then I realised we were the only ones in the room. Nell, Adonia, and Sam were nowhere to be found. "Where are the others?" I asked. "Oh, um, you are in the 'infirmary'." He put air quotes around the word. "And I'm the only one who came," he said. I knew right away that something was wrong. Maybe Adonia would, but Sam and Nell would never not come see me. "Something's wrong." I sat up. He looked around. "What?" Something moved in the corner. It was someone with their mouth tied up. I knew right away that this wasn't Blake. I punched and took out my knife. It took out its sword. We fought until I was too tired to go anymore. A sword appeared between his eyes. The creature exploded in gray sparkles. Blake stood there, sword in hand, shirt still gone. "Thanks," I panted. "No problem. Let's go find the others." We raced to the door. It was locked. Blake slammed himself against it and staggered back. He tried again. The door came free. "Thanks again." I grinned. He smiled. "Let's go."

Sophia---

We paced.  Gaia lay on her side in an ancient kind of chaise longue [[or however you spell that]].

"Don't worry, my dears," she purred.  "The young man will come out soon.  Only one visitor at a time, you know.  Critical condition, they said."

I stopped pacing and looked at her.  Into her eyes. I didn't trust her.

"What's wrong?" she said.

I looked harder.

Now she looked scared.  Just a little.  And a little defiant.

"I don't believe you," I said.  "Where are they?"

"In the infirmary."

"You're lying."

"Why would I lie?"

"So that when they didn't come back, you'd save them from monsters, and gain our trust."

Gaia was suddenly in front of me.  "Hold your tongue, little minx, or you shall be in the infirmary as well."

"Why threaten if your motives are all good?"

She reddened.  "My temper does not listen to reason."

"I do."

Suddenly there was a tremendous pain all through my body, but especially in the wound in my side, and I was thrown backward against the wall.  Sam and Adonia rushed toward me.  The pain subsided, though the room looked like there was a haze all over it.

"Are you all right?"

"What happened?"

"I'm fine," I tried to say, but the sound was hoarse and garbled. "It's okay."  I tried to sit up, but the room spun.  I leaned against the wall and put my hands on the floor.

"Why?" said Nell.

"You are lying," said Adonia.  She and Sam stood up.

Gaia sat on her chaise longue and buried her face in her hands.

The room stabilized.  I sat up, then stood.  "What's wrong?"

We walked toward her.  She stood up and walked away from us.

Finally, after what seemed hours of our standing looking at her, and her standing with her back to us, she lifted her face and turned to us. She had really been crying.

"You know, I think, someone named Nick."

"Yes," said Sam.

"And he has a half-sister named Jenifer."

"Yes," said Nell.

"And she has joined him, though she was not evil before."

"Yes."

"And so has a young man named Jason."

"Yes."

"Nick wishes to take over the world, ancient and modern."

We nodded.

"He wishes to do this by awakening Uranus."

We looked at each other.

"This is to be done by putting Uranus into the body of Jenifer."

I gasped.  A god into a human?  Could it be done?

"They are carrying through this plan as we speak."  Her voice broke and she sat down again.

When she lifted her face it was streaked with tears.  She pulled a square of cloth from a table and wiped her face.

"He was my husband," she said.  "I loved him, I still do.  I wish... that he cold stay as he always did before, as the sky, not the evil Jenifer sky."

She leapt up and ran toward us, and knelt at our feet.  "You must stop them!"

I was dumbfounded.  "Why not you?"

She stood.  "Child, I am the earth goddess.  I cannot leave the ground, can hardly walk above it.  You must do this."

Just then the door burst open and Tray and Blake ran in.  It must have been a strange scene,  us standing in the middle of the room, and Gaia kneeling, weeping, at our feet. They stopped.

Tray sighed.  "All right, then, what did we miss?"

Sam—

“Youjust missed Gaia telling us that Jen has been turned into “God of the Sky”.” Itold her. How could Jenifer? I had never thought that she’d do such a thing andjoin Nick’s side. But she had and now we were stuck with a crying goddess.

“Ahuman in a God’s body?” Tray exclaimed.

“Yeah.”Sophia said quietly.

Iturned back to Gaia. “But how can we help you and save Jenifer?”

Gaiawiped her eyes. “You must sail through the ocean known as: The Sea of Monsters. There you will meet Jennifer.” Suddenly a shock went through Gaia. “IT’S DONE!”She wailed.

“What’sdone!?” Adonia inquired.

“She’shim!”

“Jenifer’sbeen changed?” Nell inquired.

“How-how…?GO! GO BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!” She yelled.

We wereshot through the room by some unseen force. We landed outside in front of aboat with the words: “Freedom” on it. An old mossy mermaid decked the front. The paint peeled, dull and unclean drew me in right away.

“Howare we supposed to sail this thing?” Blake asked.

Everyonejust looked at him, saying nothing. We walked up a little plank and onto theship.

It wasempty with a few ropes, some broken bottles and stuff.

Sophialooked at Nell and I: “Well, what will you do?”

Nell andI smiled at each other and then walked silently to the bow. I put out my armsand closed my eyes. I ordered wind to come, I ordered the waves to move.Moments later the ship sailed out of the harbor.

After my (gosh, just call it a date, if you must) with Jason, I walked back into my room. I closed the door and grabbed a Coke, to see Nick sitting on my couch scrolling through channels. "Gosh, dude! Just move on in, will you?! I swear, you're staying here than in your own room." Well, it was true. He was always in here giving me pep-talks and junk. Well, I didn't need that. "Watchin' TV." "Isn't there a TV in your room?!" "Yeah." Gosh, boys are so dense. I felt a mind kick to my shin. Oh yeah, I'm a boy now. Must be the smartest boy since Einstein. "Well, can you leave? I have to go to bed. I'm tired. I just ordered our melee troup to go to Jamaca; you know how much energy it takes to manage the kids in the Pee-wee Monster lounge? Gosh, we got more mothers away than we thought." "Look, Jen, listen. They're coming after us." I dropped my Coke and it splattered to the ground. I screamed at the top of my lungs and a weird flying bird mix thing that we found in Sicily came in. "Go send all of our best warriors to the US. Track down 6 demigods, Thanantos Martin, Hades. Samantha Wright, Poseidon. Adonia Latri, Aphorodite. Blake Wilter, Apollo (??). Nell _____, Poseidon. Sophia Jargowitz, Athena. Track them down and kill every single one of them. And bring me Thanantos' head while you're at it. Now." I began to sharpen my sword.

Sophia ----

"The Clashing Rocks," said Adonia.

I whirled around.  In the distance I could just make out the huge stones.

"Are you sure?" I asked Sam and Nell.

"Better than Scylla and Charybdis," said Sam.  "Closer.  And in my opinion, safer."

The rocks neared, grew bigger.

"Faster," said Nell.  She and Sam tried to call more wind, but they had done all they could.

"We need a sacrifice," said Blake.  "Is there by any chance a lamb on board?"

Tray snorted.

"I'll look in the hold," I offered.

I walked to the back of the ship and found a hatch and a ladder leading down into the dank hold.  There was a flashlight, too, suspended from the ceiling next to the hatch.  I switched it on and climbed down into the half-darkness, carefully feeling each new foothold.  Left.  Right.  Left.  Right.  Clunk.

I was at the bottom.

There was another flashlight.  I tried to switch it on, but it didn't work.

"Baaa."

I tightened the back of the flashlight where the batteries went in.  Then it worked.

There, in the hold, was a flock of sheep.  I counted.  Twenty.

I pushed to the back.  Cowering by its mother was a tiny lamb, maybe five months old.  I knelt and held out my hands.  Thinking I had food or salt, it came towards me.  I scooped it up and went back up the ladder, climbing with one hand and my teeth.

"Okay,"  I called.  "Someone got a knife?"

Tray gaped.

We sacrificed the lamb to Zephyr, the West Wind, since Sam claimed we were west of the Clashing Rocks.  Immediately, the wind picked up.

We were close now, and a very strong wind was blowing in our favor.  As we came within several yards, it got even stronger. The rocks closed, then began to open.  And we were through.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.  We were through.

[[Let's see, what can the birdish thing say? *consults Spammy*]]

Suddenly, there was an ear-splitting "EIIK!"  and a wierd-looking bird-like thing flew out of the sky and swooped at us like a WWII German pilot ground-strafing an American base.  It was heading right for Tray.

"DUCK!" screamed Blake and he dove at Tray, knocking her to the deck. I flung myself down.  The bird swooped harmlessly past but banked and wheeled around. I stood up. A locker stood near.  It was marked FOR THE DEMIGODS.  I yanked at the handle.  Inside, the first thing to catch my eye was a bow and a quiver.  I grabbed them.

"BLAKE!" I yelled, and threw them at him.  He made a face but obediently drew an arrow and knocked it to the bow.  As the bird shrieked again - "EIIIIIIKKK!!!!!" - he let go, and, mortally wounded, the thing dropped into the sea, staining the water pink.

Sorry I havn't been posting. I've had a lot to do this week.

Tray-

I stared at the crimson water, then back to Blake. "Thanks." I muttered. I didn't like being saved. "No problem." I walked back to the middle of the boat. "So, what now?" I asked. Then I heard something. The others didn't seam to have heard it. "I don't know." Blake looked helpless. I felt kinda bad for him. He got to sit here while the big three's kids tried to tear eachother apart. And he happened to want to be my boy friend, but he never said anything. I bet he was a little confused. Only half the people here knew what had happened last time Nick and Jenifer tried to kill us. That was me, Sam, and Nell. I heard the noise again. It was like singing. It was the worst voice I ever heard. Now the others began to hear it. "Ugh, what is that?" Adonia asked disguested. "Ewww, I don't know." Sophie cringed at the ugly voice. Blake was mesmerised. "It's the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. "His eyes got fuzzy and he lazily started walking to the front of the boat. I looked at Sam helplessly. "Sirens." She spat. I stared at Blake who was already walking away. I ran past him, egnoring Sam's scream for me to stop. I had to get rid of those stupid things. When I got to the front of the boat I noticed how ugly they were. They were black fish tails up to the waste then pale skin, gray hair, pointed ears, lips that pointed in all different directions, and ugle eyes. They were small red dots in the center of darker cirlces. Those things were ugly, and deadly. There were three. I threw a knife that I'd found on the deck at the first one. It landed strait in her heart. Green blood poured out. But she didn't explode for some reason I couldn't understand. I shot an arrow at the next one. After I killed that one the third seamed to realise what was going on. She dove into the black water I shot multiple arrows but she got away. I spat out a few choice words and walked back to where Blake was shaking his head like a dog just out of a bath. Sam was fuming. "What?" I asked. "They're getting help." She said. It took me a bit to figure out what she ment. "What? No they're not. They're not that smart." I said. "Tray, they're smarter than gods. Demi-gods, humans, they're the smartest creatures on this earth." I started to pannick. Sure enough as if on cue I heard a horrible screaching noise. Everyone shoved their hand's to their ears. Sam mouthed three words. Told you so. I stared out at the black water. Night was setting in, making it all the more creepy. I saw something shimmer under the water. Then they were on the boat.

Was that good? I'm trying to write as much as I can in the 15 I had before I go to the pool.
