Welcome. You have

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Welcome. You have

Welcome. You have entered SnowClan territory, on the tundra of Alaska. Here we have no trees to protect us as the Clans in the more southern parts of the world do; we must survive as best we can. We have long, thick pelts to protect us from the cold, and we are more lean than the forest Clans, due to not having quite a lot of food. Life is harsh here-but we would not live anywhere else.

Here is the egg-shaped dip in the frozen tundra where we have our camp. Our medicine cat sleeps here, on the right side of the dip, under this snowbank. Due to not having many herbs, we have become hardened to diseases, but we still need a medicine cat to share dreams with StarClan and heal wounds.

I sleep here, under this snowbank, at the narrow end of the egg. Across from me, at the widest part, is the nursery. Across from the medicine cat, on the left side, are the warrior and apprentice dens. We differ from the forest Clans, in that we allow the younger cats to sleep in the middle of the warrior den, due to their fur not having grown as thick as necessary. On the left of the medicine cat den, pointing towards the nursery, is the elders' den.

We have no other Clan enemies, but there are polar bears, wolves, and Twolegs. But we can hold our own against them.

You can't see our freshkill pile-we have it buried under the snowpile in the middle of the camp. We do as the Tribe cats of the mountains do, passing our prey around each group so that everyone gets an equal number of bites. The warriors share, the apprentices share, the queens share, the elders share, and the medicine cat, the deputy, and I share.

Well, that is our camp, adventurous stranger. If you choose to join, please reply. :)

************************************************************************

Please join! We need a deputy, medicine cat, and warriors. Please, no apprentices, pregnant queens or kits until we have warriors to train them. I'll tell you when we can start getting apprentices, pregnant queens, and kits. Elders are okay, but no more than three until we have apprentices. If you want to join, copy and paste this blank form into your reply and fill it out. Thanks!

Name: Snowstar

Gender: Female

Age (in moons; just multiply six by one, two, three, etc. until you get a reasonable number. For me, six times six is thirty-six, which would make me three years old.): 36 moons.

Fur color: Pure white.

Eye color: Greenish-blue.

Rank: Leader.

Personality: Kind but firm. Compassionate and thoughtful. Wise for a young cat, she is able to see both sides of an argument and judge fairly. She is very fond of young cats, especially kits, and her dearest dream is to be a mother of kits. (Her second-dearest is to train an apprentice.) She still has all nine lives. She is not quick-tempered, and can master herself; she isn't the sort of cat to go leaping into battle before thinking about it. When she does get angry, however, she can take ages to cool off. She also has a slight proud streak, a rather dry sense of humor, and won't say know to the occasional practical joke.

History: Like the great Firestar, she was is descended from kittypets. Her mother, a kittypet-turned loner-turned kittypet named Slink, for her habit of slinking about nervously, was once a kittypet who was abandoned by her Twolegs when they discovered she was pregnant with kits. She had her kits in Twolegplace, but they were all captured by Twolegs when the kits were two moons old. Slink was given to a family, and so were her two tom-kits and Snowstar. Snowstar passed through several owners during her first year, before winding up being brought to Alaska by her latest. She ran away and has been living alone on the tundra ever since. One night, she was visited in her dreams by five StarClan cats-Skystar, the first leader of SkyClan, a Clan that was forgotten until Firestar reformed it; Windstar, the first leader of WindClan, the moorland cats; Shadowstar, the first leader of ShadowClan, the cats who walk in the night darkness of the pine forest; Riverstar, the first leader of RiverClan, the cats who, mysteriously, love the water; and Thunderstar, the first leader of ThunderClan, the strong, brave, loyal cats who choose the forest as their home. They spoke to her and told her of the Clans-of medicine cats, warriors and apprentices; of StarClan and the warrior code; of cats who broke the code and cats who upheld it; of glorious pasts and shadowy ones; and lastly, they told her it was her destiny to create a Clan here, in the tundra, and name it SnowClan. With that, they gave her nine lives and her name--Thunderstar, Windstar, Riverstar and Skystar each gave her two lives, due to there not being nine cats; Shadowstar gave her one-told her to seek out other cats like her to build a clan out of, and showed her two places. One was the egg-shaped dip of the camp, and the other was a small pool, covered with ice, where the starshine was reflected so brightly it almost blinded her. They called it the Place of Icestars, and told her that every half moon, the cat she chose as medicine cat must visit it to share dreams with StarClan. This said, they left her to awaken, and form SnowClan.

Anything else you want to add: Emm...not really. Any questions about the warrior code, ranks, etc., just ask me! :) Buh-bye!

Mudfire checked Snowstar last, by her own choice. Besides a wrenched leg and the bite on her side, she was okay, but he could see how terrified she was, however much she tried to hide it. "Eat these," he said, gruffly, holding out some kind of grass seeds.

She sighed and pushed them away. "They're like poppy seeds, aren't they?"

"Of course. And you're going to take them. You need to rest. You were lucky not to lose a life."

She shook her head. "I've failed my Clan. I've failed Icepelt. Save them for some cat who needs them."

Mudfire growled in exasperation and shoved one of the seeds into her mouth when she heaved another sigh. Then he held it shut until she swallowed obediently. Once she had lapped up the other two, he left her den.

"Mudfire," she called after him, drowsily, "don't forget-it's the half-moon tomorrow."

Mudfire didn't turn around or stop walking. "I know. Stop worrying. I'll go. Now shut up and get some rest."

"Mudfire!" she half-shouted. With a growl he turned around and came back. "What?"

"Icepelt..." Snowstar kneaded the ground with her front paws. "She...she won't...she'll be okay, won't she?"

Mudfire's expression softened for once when he looked at his leader. Her eyes were round and dark, and she looked up at him with a pleading expression. "I hope so. But it's in the paws of StarClan. I'll do everything I can, Snowstar, I promise you."

Snowstar let out a long breath, beginning to fall asleep. Mudfire left her den, and as he did, she thought to herself, If she doesn't...if Icepelt...if she doesn't make it, it'll be all my fault.

Icepelt--

I opened my eyes, but even that small motion was painful. I could hear Mudfire walking around the den, and tried to turn my head to look at him, but couldn't. It hurt too much. Then I heard him leave, and I closed my eyes again.

.....darkness.......

I shut my eyes tight, clearing my head and driving away the darkness, trying to stay conscious. I failed. Miserably.

...................darkness...............only darkness...........................................

Please post, everyone! :) Here is a list of cats according to rank:

Leader: Snowstar

Deputy: Whitefire

Medicine Cat: Mudfire

Medicine Cat Apprentice: None--you can apply, though!

Warriors: Wildpath, Icepelt, Foxclaw

Apprentices: None--apply!

Queens: None (sorry, we can't have any queens suckling kits until we have more warriors).

Elders: None--apply!

OK, back to the roleplay...

Snowstar paced up and down in front of the medicine den. She could hear Icepelt's faint mewings from inside as she struggled with nightmares of...something. So far, the young cat was neither better nor worse--Mudfire said they would know, one way or the other, very soon. She couldn't remain in this halfway stage much longer.

"Want to go for a border patrol?" Whitefire asked, padding up to her. "We can look for some new warriors. Wildpath, Foxclaw, and Mudfire can guard the camp for us."

Snowstar took a deep breath. "Okay." It was something to do, anyway.

Whitefire touched his nose to her shoulder. "She'll be fine." And the two cats walked off together, pelts brushing.

This is about a week after Snowstar's post.

Icepelt--

I woke to the sounds of Mudfire tidying up the den. About half a moon had passed since the wolf attack, and the pain had subsided slightly. I could now move a little; do things like turn my head, and it no longer hurt just to open my eyes. But still I could not stand, or even roll over. My stomach and chest burned horribly when Mudfire and I had tried it. Then he had told me not to try it again.

Now I listened to his movements, and turned my head to look at him. He noticed that I was awake, and came over to stuff more foul-tasting seeds in my mouth. As soon as I had chewed them up, Mudfire left the den. I went back to sleep, still weary.

When I awoke again, Mudfire was nowhere to be seen. Not that he would have spoken to me or tried to entertain me anyway. He would probably make me eat more seeds. So I listened to the sounds of the wind outside.

Can I join, Snowstar? Would it be ok if I was a queen, but my kits were already apprentices? That would be ok, right? That way you could have a queen in your clan, but not kits. Plus you would have 2 apprentices in the clan. Let me know, then i'll post my bio if it's ok w/ you for me to join.

I'm fine with you joining, Cloudflower. I think Snowstar should decide, though.

This is short, I don't have much time right now.

Another 2 weeks after my last post:

Icepelt--

I was now walking again, and the wounds had faded into scars. The clan was groing stronger again, and so was I. I passed by Snowstar as she came back from hunting. I grabbed a ground squirrel from the freshkill pile and went to the warriors' den to eat it.
