Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Michael Jackson fan

Michael Jackson fan thread.

So I just became a fan of his a few months back, after watching the music video for, "You Rock My World." And he did. (Rock my world, that is.) Since then, I've been listening to almost all of his music, constantly. I think he's become my number-one favorite singer.

Here are my top ten favorite songs by him (in no particular order):

1. Speechless

2. Unbreakable

3. The Lost Children

4. Bad

5. Beat It

6. Heal the World

7. You Rock My World

8. Rock With You

9. The Way You Make Me Feel

10. P.Y.T.

I love all of his songs, just so you know, but those are my top ten.

Well, anyway, I was just wondering if he has any other fans on the Chatterbox, or if NDT and I are the only ones. (Yes, NDT loves him too.) If you don't like him, then please be polite about it. Admins, if you like his music, don't be scared to speak up! All three of you! :D

Yes, I like Michael Jackson's music, at least some of it. Often I don't pay attention to who is singing. I just know if I like something I hear, usually by the music. I may not recognize the song by its name. I have to hear it.

I got more into Michael Jackson after he died. I prefer his older music to his new stuff. We're dancing to his new song (Breaking News) in dance and I don't like it. I like Beat It and Thriller. :)

@Admin: Yeah, I used to be that way when I was younger. Then I grew up and started getting more into certain artists.

@Elizabeth M.: Yeah, I like his older stuff, too. But Unbreakable, The Lost Children, and Speechless are all from about...2004/05, and they rule. :) If Breaking News is from the album Michael, then it might not be his fault it isn't that great...Michael was put out after he passed away, and he wasn't the one who finished arranging the songs, so...yeah.

OK, it's good to know there are some other people who like him, too! :)

@Thread: Go to the tooooooop!

I'm listening to Breaking News right now, after reading Elizabeth M.'s comment because I've never heard of it. It sounds okay so far, I'm at 0:43 (I'm using YouTube). Okay, decided, don't really like it.

I like a few songs by MJ. Mostly, um, *thinks* Billy Jean, um, Thriller (the Glee version that is mixed with Heads Will Roll), and... I don't know. Not a big MJ fan.

@WolfGirl67-Oh, that seems kind of unfair... I'm going to listen to the songs you mentioned.

@Olive- Oh, good! Someone who agrees with me! Some people almost died on the spot when I said that!

I really enjoy his music.  The old stuff is the best!  I like Man in the Mirror and Billy Jean the best probably, but I could listen to most of his music constantly! :)

I like his music.  I saw a Michael Jackson tribute show once with my sister, mom, and some family friends.  It wsa fun!  I was dancing through the whole thing!

I like his older music better.  I like Billie Jean and black and White, but I have danced to both, so I'm a little biased when it comes to these.

@Thread: Go to the top. This isn't a request. It is an order. Go...to...the...top. Thank you.

@R~D~: YAAAAAAY! And yes, I love Man in the Mirror. That was actually the song that got me into his music; before that, I had heard You Rock my World and thought, "Gee, I like this," but wasn't really into it until I heard Man in the Mirror on Pandora. "Who is this?" I thought, "this is great!" And then I saw it was MJ. Hooked.

@Analesia: I love Black or White! :D

Oh, has anybody here seen This Is It? It's an awesome movie, and the Earth Song segment really tugs at my heartstrings every time I think about it.

I saw This is It last year I think. I don't really remember anything except thinking that MJ seemed really nice, the girl guitarist was awesome, and the director of the concert (the Ortega guy) directed HSM and Cheetah Girls... -_-

And anyone here remember me?

Yes, i'm still here.

...

Every once in a blue moon.

ANYWAY. Billie Jean (pay attention. the song is called Billie Jean.) is my favorite--has anyone seen "Michael Jackson First Moonwalk" on youtube? That's to Billie Jean. Anyone heard D.S. by him? (You should see the comments on Youtube...) it's about Tom Sneddon, (in this song, Dom Sheldon) who headed the investigation for his "crimes". (What crimes? The speeding ticket he got that made Quincy [Quincy Jones, that is {his producer, also a good artist}] say he should write Speed Demon? Oh and I like how he had so many History albums. Like

History: Past, Present, and Future Book 1: History Begins,

History: Past, Present, and Future Book 2: History Continues,

and Blood on the Dance Floor: History in the Mix.

At least I think that it's like that. I could be Wrong.

Right. So Between MJ, Stevie Wonder, and The Meters, I have a very large iTunes library...oops.

At least I got all the stuff with Free Youtube to Mp3 Converter. (It's awesome.)

Oh and did you know the first album the Jackson 5 put out was "Diana Ross Presents the Jackson 5"? The first track is "Zip-a-dee-doo-dah". Tito Jackson had the idea for the group, and their parents encouraged it. They did a some talent shows when MJ was 5, and won EVERY ONE. They had their first gig when he was 6.

The Jackson's kids were born in:

29 May, 1950 (Maureen Reilette jackson [Rebbie])

4 May, 1951 (Sigmund Esco Jackson [Jackie])

15 October, !953 (Toriando Adaryl Jackson [Tito])

11 December 1954 (Jermaine La Juan Jackson)

29 May, 1956 (Yvonne LaToya Jackson)

!2 March, 1957 (Marlon David Jackson)

August 29, 1958 (Michael Joseph Jackson)

29 October, 1961 (Steven Randall Jackson [Randy])

16 May, 1966 (Janet Damita Jackson)

Look how close together they were born! Wow.

ABC hit #1 on the pop single charts, replacing Let It Be by The Beatles, in April !970. Sweet.

I am getting a lot of this info from "Michael Jackson: A Life In Music" (by someone who apparently doesn't like him. At least it has info!)

I've burned "Thrillier", "Bad", "Invincible", and "Off the Wall".

Here are some of my favorite MJ songs: (no order)

Billie Jean, Break of Dawn, Smooth Criminal, Speed Demon, Bad, Beat It, You Rock My World, The Way You Make Me Feel, Burn This Disco Out, Off The Wall, and... um... all the others. annd...this post is long. i might do some more later, but for now...

Vick says acdg. Are you an AC/DC fan? or are you referring to (the best) ABC (song ever?)

@Thiller rules: :D

@Olive: MJ was really nice. And yes, the girl guitarist was awesome. Maybe you can find the Earth Song segment on Youtube, IDK. Be prepared to be shocked, angry, and extremely upset for the next couple of days. It's basically a music video protesting against the way humans are treating the planet - it's got this little girl playing in the Amazon rainforest, where it's all green and lush and cool, and then the bulldozers come. Yell I can't say any more, it's just too awful, watch it yourself.

And yes I am Back. And Yes MJ rules. and Yes i am Being Annoing by doing Random CapitAlzaTions.

Tongue outReally big smile. OH YEAH has anyone heard Smile! by MJ? It's AWESOME and (though it shouldn't) makes me cry. (While smiling.)

so yeah. I've never heard "Breaking News", but i'm positive it's a media-protest song. yeah, some of his songs have weird stuff (2 Bad, History) but I stil love all of them. And his old stuff is some of the best. But invincible, his last album (other than Michael which came out after he died) had some of his BEST! although many had raps dome by rappers. (That sounded weird.) But what's wrong with that? Speechless (off of Incincible) was inspired by a water balloon fight with some kids in Germany. And it's a slow love song that ENDS TOOO SOOOON!!! Wah. Hmph. But it's still awesome. And there's some other favorites of mine on there...unbreakable, heartbreaker, invincible, break of dawn, heaven can wait, you rock my world, butterflies, speechless, 2000 watts, you are my life, privacy, don't walk away, cry, the lost children, whatever happerns, threatened. ...aand i just listed all of them. Ooh looksies-

Media Protests

Privacy

Breaking News (probably, I've never heard it though)

Haters Protests

Tabloid Junkie

Children Helping

The Lost Children

Man in the Mirror

Do You Know Where Your Children Are

SAVE THE PLANET SONGS

Earth Song

Cry

We Are the World

Heal The World

Protest against People

They Don't Care About Us

D.S.

And i'm sure that's waaay more than Lady Gaga has done.

And there's many more that fit into those categories that I haven't heard (most from History.)

Vick says zptp. zip it Up? Okay, Vick, I'll shut it.
