Harry Potter part

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Harry Potter part

Harry Potter part 2

I saw the midnight premier of Harry Potter. Some of my group loved it, some of my group thought it stank. I will not spoil anything, I'll just say, they really did stink up some parts, and I wish there had been way more dialogue. The best scenes were with Snape! He's such a brilliant actor. But don't let my opinion spoil it for you! Go see it with a positive spirit and then give me some feedback.

Thanks, Mary Jo. We've been waiting to hear from someone who's seen the movie. There's another thread for it, too.

I've seen it twice (midnight and yesterday at a normal time) now.

Snape was DEFINITELY the best. By far. Just... yeah.

They ruined, RUINED Bellatrix's death though. It was horrible. HORRIBLE. At least in the book there was some... buildup. And some time to mourn. :(

My unending hatred for Ralph Fiennes continues unabated. WHY they couldn't have gotten someone... I don't know, tall and/or scary is beyond me. (Basically, John Simm. He would have been a fantastic Voldemort, if only because in my head that would mean Voldemort is a Time Lord. Plus he's sort of got the right face shape and he makes an amazing psychopath and DON'T QUESTION ME OKAY?)

Hermione!Bella was ADORABLE. The end.

McGonnagal ("I've always wanted to use that spell!") and Neville were awesome, as expected.

I think the score in this one was the weakest of the eight (Alexander Desplat is... not the best composer in the world), but I love the bit towards the end when Harry shows up in the forest and particularly during the shot where Voldemort (HATEHATEHATE RALPH FIENNES) turns around all slow and dramatic-like. That particular sequence had near-Doctor Who music levels of awesome.

Albus Severus and Young!Snape: CUTEST ELEVEN YEAR OLDS EVER, YES?

Also there was a Sherlock Holmes trailer that was amazing and I'm so excited now >.< but that's not important, eh?

Thanks for your report, TNO. I haven't seen it yet, but hope to later this week.

Hmm, I wasn't quite listening to the music. I was laughing hysterically, mainly. Hahaha, how about when Harry's in the Forest and Voldy is turning on him with his wand and the music builds and builds but then dies, and Voldemort does this weird I-shall-punch-you-with-my-wand move followed by an oddly drawn out "Aaaaaaaavada Kedavra!" And the 19 years later scene, my goodness! I nearly fell off my chair laughing. As for Snape being the cutest eleven year old, that is most definetly arguable. I was thinking, "Huh? that's Snape?" But then again, what has that to do with anything?

I always listen to the music because I am obsessive and stuff. But that's probably because I listen to a lot of movie scores anyway.

re: I-shall-punch-you-with-my-wand: That is why we all DESPISE Ralph Fiennes with the burning passion of ten thousand suns, right? (That, and he's short and looks nothing like Voldemort and has blue eyes, WHY MUST IT BE?!?!)

re: Young Snape: He was adorable and you know it. *nodnod*

@Admin re: 3-D with glasses: Seeing the double frames is weird for the first few minutes, but then you sort of get used to it and it's pretty much normal except you have to push them up more often because of the additional weight. I don't mind it, though. As far as seeing HP in 3-D, I'd say yes just because modern 3-D technology is visually amazing.

Thanks, TNO. I value your opinion. I think we'll go for 3D.

My friend found tickets online. But the time it took her to get her mom and her mom's Visa card, the tickets got sold out.

Sometimes I really don't appreciate how large the HP fanbase is. :P

For those of you who have seen the movie, do you recommend seeing it in 3D or the regular version? Both are offered at our local cinema complex. I normally wear glasses, so how would that work with 3D? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I saw 3D and thought it very nice. My parents' (non-fan) friend Pangloss (not his real name; I call him that for various complicated reasons), who went with us, said he thought the 3D was extremely well done. In addition, I've seen several 3D movies while wearing glasses and while it tickles a bit it hasn't bothered me hugely.

Thanks, ZNZ. I guess we'll give that a try!

I <3 SEVERUS SNAPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And TNO, I agree, the Master WOULD have made a good Voldy, but David Bowie would have been the best! If you've seen tha Labrynth, then you'll know what I mean. He's just so GOOD at being weird, both in looks and the way he acts.

Spammy says mtrx. Yes, Spammy, i will watch the Matrix at SOME POINT. Everyone is tellinng me to, and since a COMPUTER has said so, i guess I will, but LATER!

Eh, I don't much care for him, personally.

OT: You should watch the Matrix, definitely, but ignore the sequels, they are terrible.

@Afton T.- The Matrix is okay, though kind of odd... I own two of them. The second (or third) is quite violent (oh well). I agree with TNÖ about the first being the best.

I am dying to see the movie! We'll see it soon (dubbed in German). On dubbing, Hermione (for my taste) sounds way to high pitched and girly. I like Harry's and Ron's voices, though!

I heard that the movie got quite good reviews, but from what I'm hearing it sounds not good at all! What would you rate it from 1-10?

My mom and I were able to obtain tickets for Saturday! *squeel* I bet I'm going to cry in the scene of Snape's memories with Lily...

I saw HP8 a few hours ago. It was pretty good (Neville and McGonagall were awesome) but. They. Didn't. Fix. Harry's. Wand. And. Neville. Does. NOT. Marry. Luna.

I give it an 8 out of 10. Also, HP8 is easily the best HP movie. :)

But but but Luna and Neville are so cuttte together. Anyway, who says everyone has to marry their high school (Hogwarts?) sweethearts anyway? A lot of people date but don't get married, after all.

slightly random: I just posted twice in fairly quick succession, and the CAPTCHAs were "nnnu" and "onnn", so I get the impression the thing is screaming "NOUN!" at me in reverse.
