"Celebrity Crushes"

"Celebrity Crushes"
As I've been fangirling over Andy Biersack for the past 6 months or so, I decided this thread needed to be created. *hangs head in shame* I've also been obsessing over Christofer Drew, Billie Joe Armstrong, Frank Iero, Jake Pitts, and Josh Farro, as well as about 20 million other singers and guitarists. Sigh. I don't completely get everyone fawning over Johnny Depp. He's awesome, but still. I do love him as Edward Scissorhands and Sweeney though. Yum. And Shane Dawson. And Swift Karate Chop.
Ok, sorry about that. I'm in a weird mood today. All fangirliness aside, who do you have a "celebrity crush" on? Huh?

Um...

I don't have crushes necessarily, not in the usual sense of the word (i.e. "infatuation") anyway ((I've never actually had a crush on anyone, celebrity or otherwise. I don't know why)). But I do have a TON of people who I fangirl... a lot... and will watch/listen to something just because they're in it.

Male examples in no particular order and with the works for which I fangirl them:

Wesley Taylor. (The Addams Family)

Neil Patrick Harris. (Doctor Horrible and Assassins)

Nathan Lane. (Everything, especially The Addams Family and The Frogs and The Producers and... everything. Yeah.)

Roger Bart. (Young Frankenstein and The Frogs)

Aaron Tveit. (Next To Normal)

Hunter Ryan Herdlicka. ((I've met him :D)) (A Little Night Music)

Stephen R. Buntrock. ((Him, too.)) (Also A Little Night Music)

Danny Burnstein. ((...And him. YAY STAGE DOORS!)) (Follies)

Raul Esperaza. (Company)

Daniel Radcliffe. (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.) ((Yes, yes, Harry Potter, that Daniel Radcliffe. I like him much better in HtSiBWRT though.))

Michael Cerveris. (Sweeney Todd and Assassins)

Terrance Mann (Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast, and The Addams Family)

Tim Curry (Everything, but especially anything in which he sings. Oh, and Clue.)

Raul Julia. (The Addams Family) ((No, I don't care that he's dead. He's still amazing.))

Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock)

Matt Smith (Doctor Who).

Female examples:

Bernadette Peters. (EVERYTHING. She is so amazing.) ((I've met her twice :D :D :D))

Jan Maxwell. (Follies) ((And I met her too. I mentioned that stage doors are awesome, right?))

Bebe Neuwirth. (The Addams Family and Chicago)

Patti Lupone. (Gypsy and Sweeney Todd)

Madeline Kahn. (Also everything, but especially Anyone Can Whistle and Clue. Clue is an amazing movie in general, actually.) ((I don't care that she's dead, either. I am allowed to fangirl dead people if I want to, stop looking at me like that.))

Sherie Rene Scott. (Aida and The Little Mermaid)

Donna Murphy. (Passion and, to a lesser extent, Tangled)

Anjelica Huston. (Everything, esp. The Addams Family and The Witches

Helena Bonham Carter (Everything, especially Sweeney Todd and Harry Potter

...

I don't know who any of your people are except Johnny Depp, though.

...I also realize that several people on the above list aren't actually "celebrities" in the normal sense of the word, but I don't care.

My best
memory of Madeline Kahn is a wonderful duet she sang with Grover on
Sesame Street:

Sing what I sing, sing after me . . . I can't remember the rest. Admin

I'm not mentioning any names but my friend used to have a crush on Daniel Radcliffe, and I used to have a crush on a character from a book, Mendanbar. And I still sort of do, but not really. I also have a tiny crush on Dustfinger, from the Inkworld books, but it isn't serious.

@TNÖ: I'm glad I'm not the only one who fangirls over Terrance Mann.  I was literally screaming at my computer when I realized that I had been in New York and had passed by the theater where The Addams Family was playing and hadn't known Terrence Mann was there...  I had just come from seeing Billy Elliot, where admittedly, I did get to see Carole Shelley (no complaints about that).

So yes, I do love Terrance Mann, if you haven't noticed.  And one huge reason that I do (besides, you know, his AMAZING voice) is that he was pretty much who got me into musicals.  If I hadn't listened to him singing "If I Can't Lover Her," I wouldn't be typing this write now. :)  I also fangirl over quite a few people on TNÖ's list.  (I had no idea Neil Patrick Harris was in Assassins!  That makes me want to listen to that even more!)  Anyway, that's me.

I've always called Orlando Bloom (meaning he shall always be my first "celebrity crush") but he's a bit too old for me. :)  Man he's one good-looking elf. And pirate. ;D  But as of late- no, I can't think of anyone.  Obsessing over celebrities is not something I do.  Why? 1: You'll probably NEVER even meet/see this person in real life. 2: They probably aren't what you expect them to be like... and not in the good way.  And 3: Wouldn't you be creeped out if someone was hanging your face on their wall and talking about you all the time?  Yeah, that's what they live with but they're still regular people. Anyhoo... yeah, there are actors I think look very nice, but crushing on one... not me.

...obsessively buying their albums and squeeing when their voice comes on the radio, which unfortunately is very rare outside of like one XM channel... Flailing when you find out that, not only is there an Addams Family musical, it has not one but three of some of your favorite actors in it... (also obsessively watching Lane's interviews and stuff because the man is hilarious. Seriously.)

re: appearances: I really don't tend to get terribly excited about what actors look like, for some reason. Maybe it's because I channel me shallow-ness into judging them by whether or not they can sing and to a lesser extent their acting capability. Which is weird, I know.

But, yeah, not crushing, because that generally involves infatuation of some kind and to the best of my knowledge I don't get infatuated.

OMG!!! ORLANDO BLOOM!!!!! So hot.  I absolutely adore that part with the oliphaunt.  And that part in TTT when he swings up on to Aragorn's (?) horse.   And that part in Lothlorien when he's wearing that incredible silver robe thingie.  I love Legolas.  Bur it's not an obssesive thing, because most of the time I'm thinking about Boromir (in the books, not the movies) so yeah.  I mean, there are a million elves like Legolas.  I still cannot believe Haldir died.  That was unnecessary!!!! But as far as crushed go, i still have a desperate crush on Feanor... which you do not want to know about. So I will wrap this rant up...

Mine are dead. LONG dead. Or never existed, for book characters. George Harrison (<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3, SIGH) and John Lennon, for actual people, and Severus Snape, for imaginary characters. Not the Snape that appears in the movies, but the one from the books.

Blu just reminded me of the King Arthur character.  The person in the movie //spoiler alert\\ who is King Arthur is the girl.  It's different in the book.

I don't think I have ever had a celebrity crush. I however have had and still do have crushes on fictional book characters.
