The Last Hunger

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

The Last Hunger

The Last Hunger Games.

So, I've been toying around with this idea for quite a while now, and I think it's time I started doing it.

Some people might say that the 73rd Hunger Games were the last true Hunger Games. Everything worked according to plan.

Some people might say that the 74th Hunger Games were the last Hunger Games. Everything mostly went according to plan.

Some people might say that the 75th Hunger Games were the last Hunger Games, even though it went down the drain..

But a few say differently

A few say that the last Hunger Games were the Hunger Games with the Capitol children. Sure, the rules were very different, and nothing was quite the same, but it was the last Hunger Games.

So, who wants to do it with me?

Your charrie can be just about any age under about 21, there is no district attached, I think we'll use 24 tributes, and yeah. There'll be a training center, but no interviews or such. They'll get three days to get themselves into shape, and then they'll be thrown in. For the arena, because it said at the end of Mockingjay that the arenas were all destroyed, I think this would have to be held before then, and we'll use the one from the 50th Hunger Games. But still only 24 tributes, and there won't be nearly as many mutts. And they'll downsize the arena.

Everything happens too fast to take note. There's a bang and suddenly I'm running toward the Cornucopia. I'm able to scoop up a backpack and a sword before turning around and barely deflecting someone's strike toward my head. I bounce on the balls of my feet and move around, clipping them several times, just barely hurting them, and dizzying them. They let out an angry growl before lunging at my stomach, leaving one whole side and their back unguarded. I block their lunge with my pack, the contents spilling out, and serve a blow at their side. There's a flash of red and they stagger to the other side before collapsing.

I look around me. There are are two at the edge, fighting, but the remainder are at the top of the Cornucopia, sorting through the contents. There are five of them and they're all broad-shouldered and muscular or small and lean. One of them is looking at me but he doesn't make a move to hurt me, instead he beckons toward me. He seems to be the leader of the group.

I guess these are the Careers of this year.

I gather all my stuff then scale up the Cornucopia to join them.

From my view atop the huge tower I see the Careers form the pack and wander off to the distance, the hovercrafts pick up the dead bodies, then the scavengers picking over the remains of the Cornocopia. It's actually a nice view, really. The sun is almost going down, or the light projection, or whatever it actually is. Already my outfit is ruined, my hair a complete mess, and everything else looks like it was painted with dirt. Any water has been used for drinking, and I've never gone this long without a feast. So I was pretty miserable. A piece of metal clattered behind me and I spun around, grabbing the bow and placing a hand on an arrow. "Who's there?" I called out. Stupid, stupid, stupid! Now they know I'm here! I give myself a second of recoil before opening my eyes again and looking around the little balcony that I made camp on. I loaded the arrow and held it at the ready, luckily these bows were user friendly so it didn't take long to get used to it. Suddenly someone steps out from a corner, two someones. A boy and a girl. Poppy Flickerman and Jackson Templesmith ((I think that was his name, correct me if it isn't, though!)).  Two people who I'd socialized greatly with in the past. "I guess you're here to kill me," I say simply, trying not to show how utterly terrified at the sight of them I was. "You could say that," Jackson replies, gesturing to his shoulder. "Oh, right. Sorry about that. Attempting to survive, you know." I shrug. Poppy steps forward and I step backwards, pulling my bow up and aiming it slightly at her heart. "Two against one, I don't think this is very fair." "It's the Hunger Games. It isn't very fair at all." I chuckle softly. "You're right there. And we got ourselves here. And I'm trying to get myself out. Now, I see three options in this scenario. You two can kill me, which would most likely be the easiest, but not exactly my favorite. One that I very much enjoy is that I kill either one of you, or hopefully both. Then that leaves the ally situation. Now that's always out there. Think about it. I'm up here, sniping away at people as they venture to the Cornocopia, and I doubt anyone's able to get up here easily, it took me an a good three hours to climb all those steps, and who knows how long it took you two. And then, you both are hiding away in some abandoned hole, always in the danger of having someone just walk by and slit your throats. The choice is yours. Allies, or enemies?"

Poppy-

There were problems with both scenarios. If we become enemies Clymn could just easily kill us. She actually has the advantage of height to be honest. If we become allies she could just easily kill us in our sleep. I know she would. She'd probably like to actually. I exchange a look with Jackson, and know what to do. "Allies," I say. She lowers the bow, but doesn't unload it. "Suit yourself," she said looking amused. I don't trust her at all. Jackson and I climb to the top of the tower. With her help it's a little easier. But not much. It still takes about 2 hours for us to get up there. "So, what do we do now that we're here?" I ask suspiciously. "We wait for some idiot to walk by and either I shoot him, Jackson does whatever he does, or you throw a knife at him." I try not to look scared. I don't want to hurt anyone. But the look on her face seems to hit me over the head with a rock because I finally understand that I will eventually have to. I don't accept it, but I understand it.

Sorry it's not much. I've got like ZERO creativityness right now.

Kyla-

The streets are dark and only lit by the bit of light provided by the ancient streetlamps. I shiver as a cold wind whistles through the streets.

Fatigue begins to creep over me and I can hardly resist just falling to the ground and sleeping; yet that would be my death.

Something large looms in the distance but I cannot make out what it is. Perhaps the tower? I edge closer and spot a bridge still intact. After crossing it, I find myself in the middle of a plaza.

The plaza is filled with large cement bowls for flowers and on one side a gigantic cathedral. It is the most beautiful thing I have ever set my eyes on and even though the sky is pitch-black, its walls sparkle like the sun.

I draw nearer to the doors. White dust from the bricks sticks to my fingers as I touch the beautiful statues guarding the entryway.

The door is slightly agape and I walk in.

Inside are lines of wooden benches and huge round windows made of glass. Moonlight makes the colorful figures implanted in the glass visible and I begin to see how each glass window is a book of stories.

My footsteps echo on the hard marble floor as I stride down the long hallway and into the back of the cathedral.

I find a crevice of stone and place my packs so that I can use them as cushions.

I fall asleep, looking at a woman dressed in armor, seeming triumphant as if she has accomplished something great. If only that woman could be me.

WOW! Sorry! I completely forgot about this thread! SORRY!

OK, nothing's coming to mind. Trust me, if I had anything remotely creative or inteligent to write I'd write it. But sadly I don't ;)

This has to be a really short post sorry!

Poppy-

We take turns on night shift. I don't really trust Clymn not to take us out while we are asleep so I don't really sleep on her watch. It's finally my turn. I stand look out with my knife ready. Nothing passes by until the end. It's a girl. One of the game maker's daughters. I think her name's Trinara. For a second I wonder whether or not I should wake Clymn and Jackson up so they can kill her. But I know if I do that they'll think I'm a wimp and Clymn will get rid of me. So instead I take out my knife and throw it. It lands precisely where I thought it would. In the girl's head. She drops to the ground, dead. I start shaking. Four words pass through my head that eat me away. I just killed someone. I just killed someone. I just killed someone. I feel an arm go around me. It's Jackson. "Was that the first time you've ever hurt anyone?" I nodded. "Do you regret it?" I shake my head. "I'm only sorry it had to be for the Hunger Games."

Wow that's like my shortest post ever. Sorry! It was a big one though. Poppy's first kill...

I created this thread, then left it to others to keep it alive. I'm very sorry, little thread.

I would post, but I'm slightly confused. Poppy, Clymn, and Jackson are together. Kyla and Ven were together, but Kyla left. Lyn is with the Careers. Lucius is unaccounted for. X number of people are dead.

Is that right?

Correct. We can put who's dead on that list. I think about five died so far...
