Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Performing nerves :/

Performing nerves :/

I was in two piano competitions today and there were NO BANANAS IN THE HOUSE. I ended being so nervous that in bars 7-11 my left hand played a third lower than what was written. D: This was my 20th century piece that... should have been easy enough to play without any slips. *groan*

The second was better, because... I wasn't as nervous. And it was my baroque piece which I've always been better at. I didn't place but the ajudicator didn't tell me to improve on anything on my sheet, which is a good thing I guess.

Anyway, I found that breathing slowly, stretching my hands and fingers, and closing my eyes helped. My feet still went numb but that might have been because it was around freezing and I was wearing flats. Yes, near freezing in April. That's Canada for you.

It sounds like you did all right, Olive, without a banana. Congratulations. It should be easier next time.

I'll take freezing cold over how it is here any day.  It can go from 80 degrees F to 40 degrees F in one  week.  It's so annoyingly unpredictable.
