Lombard Street

Lombard Street Marty

I'd so love to skateboard down Lombard Street. Can you think of any intersting places in your neighborhood that someone should write a poem about?

There's this house on a road near mine that's all decorated up to look like a gingerbread house.  It's insane.

There is a house a block away that is practically the laughing stock of the neighboorhood. It has a GIIIAAAANNNTTT fountain in the front that is never on, dying rosebushes, and pine trees. This might look nice in say, Scotland, but not in the suburbs around California's capitol, where in the summer every day is over 100 degrees. And to cap it off, it gets painted sickening colors every few years. First it was barf yellow, then magenta, then PUCE, and now it is a really mustard color. Red wrote a poem about it.

There's a park down the street with a really pretty lake that I think would be great for a poem.

@Marty

I taught myself how to skateboard in one day last spring.  I'm really proud of myself since my dad couldn't balance on the board.  I've only fallen off once so far.

There's a pretty secluded pond down the street from where I live, it's really pretty. Nobody ever goes there (it's across a bridge that is seriously called Ghosthall Bridge), but it's really nice when you need to not talk to ANYBODY AT ALL and just draw/write things.

There's a street in Philadelphia called Green Street that goes straight up a steep hillside in a hilly part of the city called Manyunk. When we go up it feels like the car is going straight into the sky and those of us in the back seat are lying down on our backs. I always feel like I'm in a rocket ship.

Hi. In my street I have a horse field next to my house; it has broke a little bit of my fence. There is a blonde horse in the field. The whole street used to be a field. But I moved here when I was 3; it wasn't a field then!
