My Grandmother grew up in a hotel in Motreux and when they didn't have anyone there, she and her two sisters used to run down the halls, screaming.

Mine grew up in the Great Depression, and she used to have Saltines and jam for dessert!

@Tiffany- I was wondering when somebody might say something like that.  My German grandparents were refugees after World War II.  They certainly almost never talk about it.

My grandma lived in Saint Petersburg when it was surrounded during World War II.

My grandpa fought in the Vietnam War. My Great-grandfather fought in World War One. He originally came from Germany but he moved to America before the war and fought on the American side.
At least, I think that's what happened. XP

My grandfather went to this army school that you got to if you were proficient enough you could go through school quicker (kind of like the schools where you can take college classes in high school) and he got kicked out for not being smart enough.  He he he.
