Have you ever taken care of an injured pet or wild animal?

There was this time when my uncle found some baby ducks on the side of the road. There were all these cats hanging around, so he picked them up to bring to us because we were raising our own baby ducks at the time. We were looking at them and they didn't look right. It is because they weren't ducks they were baby Canadian Geese! We took them to an animal sanctuary, and the lady told us that geese will care for babies that aren't even theirs so there is the happy ending to my "Ugly Duckling" story.

Another time a baby bird fell out of its nest at our house so we made it one out of a basket and hoped the Momma bird would find it and feed it still.

We have a lot of animals so dealing with sick and injured ones happens at a fair rate, but here are the most memorable ones: having a baby goat get a blood transfusion, bringing a duck (yes, a real duck) into the house to put antiseptic on a fox bite and other things but the other stuff didn't...um...always make it and/or have an interesting story.

This had to be my favorite story in the mag this month (: I loved how the Dad told stories of The Pirate, and in the end he came home. Major cliffhanger! I really want to read more!
