Cricket, I entered this issue's contest, and I just realized that it kinda seems like 'Because of Winn-Dixie'. I didn't even think of that!! Will I still be eligable for the contest?

It depends upon whether the judges consider your ideas original or not, Bekah. I can't really say without reading your story. But thanks for letting us know and thinking about it. Once we printed a story as a Cricket League winner, and then several different people who read it in the magazine wrote in to tell us that it was just like a story in the library, not original. That was embarrassing for us and for the child who submitted the story. Claiming someone else's work as your own is very serious. One should be honest right from the start.
