Chatterbox: In This Month's Issue

Admins and or

Admins and or Editors:

Say I decide to pursue art. Would it be possible to draw a cover for Cricket? Would I need a background as an artist, or a resume, or anything of that sort? Would I need to apply for an issue to illustrate a cover for? I would love to be more involved with Cricket.

Artists from all over the world submit samples of their art to Cricket media. Our art directors review the samples and if an artist's work is deemed suitable for any of our magazines that person is added to our database of possible illustrators. Then for each issue, the editors and art director review samples and decide whom to ask for illustrations. If the artist is too busy at the time, then a second person may be asked.

Look for more info about submitting at: cricketmag.submittable.com

While you are still a teenager, I encourage you to enter our Cricket League art contests. I can think of at least one Cricket illustrator who won a prize in a Cricket League art contest as a teen. The more experience you get, the better!
