Chatterbox: In This Month's Issue

WARNING: SPOILER ALERT!!!

WARNING: SPOILER ALERT!!!! I suggest to not read this unless you are Secret or Viola?

Now that that's over with, we have a theme, somethind woodland-like. Each day, a CBer just goes missing and then winds up dead. The murderer is connected with one of us and the other one is completely in the dark about the whole thing. I was thinking that if someone tries to guess us, they are the next victim. I was also thinking that one of us (the one with connections to the murdered) faked their own death! Any other ideas?

More questions than ideas, really, but yeah...

Will the murderer use the same weapon every time? A different one every time? A theme of one with fun exceptions?

Does the murderer know that they're the murderer?

Why is the murderer killing people?

What will the connection be? What sprang to my mind was the murderer being implicated in the faked death, or assisting in the faking of the death, or believing that it wasn't a fake death and perhaps even that they were its cause. Or perhaps the connected host faked their own death in an attempt to get away from the murderer.

I wouldn't mind being the one who's in the dark about it, unless you'd like to.

Woodsy... so like a cabin/camping thing, or a hiking trip, or...?

Would it be okay to do the update schedule the way Alizarine and I did, with each of us posting a full day update thingy every other day?

How many guests should we accept?

What happens at the end? Does the murderer get caught, or do they kill everyone? Do they kill the unsuspecting host?

Does the unsuspecting host ever catch on?

Who do we kill if nobody tries to guess us?

Oh boy.

Okay, so I loved how you and Alizarine used different weapons on methods, I thought that was creative.

Yes, the murderer is aware that he/she is the murderer.

The connection is that the murderer is bribed to murder everyone. Then, the murderer realizes that he/she is doing something horrible, and refuses to do it, so the host continues murdering everyone else.

The host who isn't in the dark faked a death right after the murderer refuses, so that everyone thought the host was dead. The murderer does the same thing in the very beginning, and dies later under their CB name.

I can be the host who has the connection and later becomes the murderer.

When I think woodsy, I think all things in the mountains or forest. Camping, hiking, spooky stories by the campfire.

I think the update schedule you did last year with Alizarine was awesome. I think the morning would work good for me to update.

Guests. . .more than about 21 people seems a lot to me, so I was thinking around 19-21 guests in total.

In the end, the unsuspecting host is the only one left alive, and the other host runs away. The unsuspecting one is able to revive everyone and forgives the first murderer for their crimes.

I was thinking in the end, when everyone is dead but the hosts, the unsuspecting one is told everything, and passes the story one when she revives everyone.

I think that we make a list of who to kill first to last on here, and then carry out that list. If someone does try to guess us, we alter the list so they are the next or after the next to die.

I was also thinking that the unsuspecting one enters themselves in to throw everyone off, but this might not work out in the end.

All right, so.

What does the murderer think they're being hired for, and how far do they get before they have their realization? What triggers it?

Why is the host trying to kill everyone?

Okay, so a forested, mountainous area. Do you want this to be a hiking trip? That's unconventional but appealing. The only trouble I can think of is how to stop people running off. Maybe it's a very isolated area and the chances of making it back to civilization on one's own are slim? But surely a few people will have enough faith in their abilities to try it anyway. Maybe they die and that scares the others into not attempting the same thing. Maybe they're the strongest and bravest and stuff, and maybe the murderer is among them, perhaps a ringleader of sorts. It would be kind of like the beginning of And Then There Were None, if you've read that. Should it be where the faked death happens? Early on, the first deaths... or death, singular. Oh, and naturally I'd imagine there would be one scene where everyone but the group who struck out on their own are telling scary stories around the campfire, and then suddenly, at the perfect moment, there's a scream from one of the dying or fake-dying off in the distance (piercing the night, as clear and sharp as the crescent moon, driving a chill of terror into the hearts of even the most stolid and/or foolhardy of campers).

Cool, so every day, trading off. I might be more likely to post in the evenings, though, I don't know if that'd give you enough time...?

Want to split the difference and make it 20? That'd make it the invitation post, the 20 days of murders (if we're going by one per day), and I imagine the final confrontation and forgiveness would take place on the same day as the last murder, right? How's that?

That sounds good.

Yeah, I entered myself in the ski lodge I did with Alizarine, and it was cool, although it was also awkward having two of the same person running around...

Also, AEs are going to count as guests, right? And what wonderfully terrible fate shall we have befall anyone who doesn't fill out their sheets in time? We should maybe get working on the murder weapons in general. I'm thinking a tent pole/peg for one, fire might not be a viable option but drowning certainly is, and of course there's always a good old hit over the head with a rock. And how does the murderer/host keep from being suspected/caught? Why doesn't the murderhost kill the unsuspecting host?

Sounds great.

The murderer is tricked into becoming the murderer, and the host wants to get revenge on someone who murdered their family/friends, and murders the guests.

20 people sounds good, and we can have a two compainon rule.

Evenings. . .Shall we draft on here?

What if the murderer/murderhost struck in the night, and no-one knew at first, and then someone caught on, so the murderer/murderhost switched to murdering in the late afternoon, then midday, then early morning?

Both of the hosts are siblings/childhood friends, and the murderhost doesn't want to kill his/her best friend.

If someone fails to turn in a sheet just a few hours past the time, we let them in, only to murder them as one of the first people.

To be clear, the murderer is faking their death, and then dies permenatly as the 10th CBer, right smack in the middle. The murderhost starts to murder after the murderer dies.

Weapons/Murders

-Poison

-Rock/stick

-Drowning

-Didn't a couple of your guests fall into pits of spikes/fire/who knows what? Maybe we could do that...

-Falling of mountain

-Crushed by rock

-Poisenous gas?

That's honestly all I have.

And that scene that you described is perfect.

Okay, all sounds good...

To add to the list of murder methods:

-Impaled by a hiking pole

-Yes, some of our guests fell into pit traps. Wooden spikes sounds like a good carpeting.

-Steered into the path of a provoked bear?

-Stabbed

-Shot with an arrow

-Trapped in a burning tent (either the smoke inhalation or severe burns would do it)

-Pushed off a cliff/mountain

-Choked to death

-Smothered (pillow, probably)

-Severely injured, tied up and left for dead

-Strangled with rope or vines or something

Got any more?

Note: I've deleted some of the more graphic, horrible means on the list.
