Happy Thanksgiving!

Chatterbox: In This Month's Issue

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

If you thought we would practically have no Thanksgiving this year, I did not. I immeadiatly thought of an idea for a Chatterbox Thanksgiving. On this page you can write about what you're thankful, your Pandemic Thanksgiving plans, and more Thanksgiving stuff.

Oh my gosh I am so sad for you!!! I've personally not had to move since I was eight months old, but all of my older siblings have moved around basically their whole lives. From their stories I know it's rough.

I just wanted to say that there is no reason you can't still be friends with people you know where you live. One of my best friendswho used to live only a couple streets away moved across the country about a year and a half ago. I was super sad because we'd been hanging out like three times a week at least, but through calling, FaceTime, and texting we're still super close friends.

I'm really sorry if this doesn't help, but I just wanted to say you don't have to give up your friendships. And good luck with your move, I hope it gets better for you!

Hey Em! <3 I actually moved when I was 12 too. I moved from California (where I lived for my whole life) to Hong Kong. I was so unhappy and I had to leave all my friends behind and go to a completely new country. I was really mad at my parents, but I realized that I was being a bit unfair. My dad got his dream job offer at his new job and he would have missed out on that huge opportunity if we had stayed. I am still in contact with most of my friends! We call a lot and text each other everyday. I've visited them once and some of them visited me! If you are still in the same country or even state, it should be a lot easier to keep in contact. I believe in you Em! If you ever need any advice feel free to talk to me! I know it's so hard and frustrating but it does get better eventually. <3

Am I allowed to go off-topic? Because the fact that you're probably bilingual is pretty cool. (Especially because I've dicovered that Chinese (probably Mandarin, I don't know what I was learning) is hard to learn.) BTW, I might also move when I'm 12. I'm only 11. I don't know.

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all! I can't beleive it's almost Thanksgiving. In my mind it's still October. Ooh  I suddenly want to draw a cornucopia. I might post it here later!

Happy early thanksgiving! We only have 14 days to go! My thanksgiving plan is to spend the morning at my grandma's outside playing with my cousins (Masked of course!) Then go home and have a thanksgiving feast! BTW does anyone else find the captcha's annoying.

Yes sometimes. A thing we CBers do to make it less annoying is name them and try to decipher what they're saying.

For instance, mine is named Kiwi, she's a sugar glider, and wants to take over the world.

She says ffvff.

Five fluff.

Okay, I don't know, but sure XD

Also, hi! I think you're new around here. I'm Luminescence, but most people call me Lumi. Nice to meet you! Here's a link to the Ultimate Guide, which will explain things a little more:

Read you around!

Now, in answer to the question, I think my cousins, who we've been "bubbling" with, are coming over for dinner. Other than that I have no idea XD

Our current plans:

Sometime in the day, we will all Zoom with our relatives and have a regular Thanksgiving discussion. Later, we'll have a dinner by ourselves. I hope this works!

Wow, thanksgiving is on the horizon! I cannot WAIT for thanksgiving break, ugh I am in desperate need of a break from school. I'm probably going to have Thanksgiving dinner with some friends in my neighborhood who are in our bubble. In my state, indoor gatherings have been limited to 10 people, so we will technically be breaking the law by three people. Oops.

Also my brother is coming home for thanksgiving and he'll be here through January! Yaay.

Wow, after thanksgiving ends it'll be the holiday season... Ahhh!

Just make sure you're all ssfe, keep the masks on for as long as possible, and I think that you'll be great.

Update: We're actually doing it outside now. So I don't think we're technically breaking the law anymore! I'm so excited for thanksgiving dinner... I can already taste it... That may just be because I'm really hungry and the dinner my mom is cooking smells so good.

Oh, you must be so excited! We have been quarantening more than normal for about two weeks, and then we will get together with my grandma! I am so excited, and she cooks great.

Wow, can you believe Thanksgiving is only a few days away?? We're spending it with our grandparents, who we are bubbling with, and we already have a whole dinner planned out which sounds a m a z i n g.

P.S. Our local CVS is already putting out Christmas decorations. I swear every year they do it earlier and earlier.

My family is actually GOING somewhere for Thanksgiving *gasp.* We're going to the coast to stay in an AirBnB, which should be pretty safe. We're not going to see anyone, except maybe my cousin outside for a bit. We actually ate Thanksgiving dinner yesterday (I ate WAY too much...has anyone ever had potato fennel gratin before? It's like the best food ever) because we didn't want to have to bring all the cooking stuff xD And today we went out and cut our Christmas tree.

@Eme, I'm really sorry about that. It must be so frustrating for you. I'm a really sentimental person and I get super attached to places and I would NOT want to move. :( Especially to an entirely new town! A couple of my friends have moved really far away, which is sad, but it hasn't kept me from keeping in contact with them. I get to see them once a year or so, and we write letters and email a lot. I'm sure your friends will understand that you didn't want to move, and they won't think you're betraying them. But writing letters is a really good way to keep in contact, because it's so much fun to receive a letter (receiving an email is like...alright, but letters are just way more exciting in my opinion). Anyway I hope you grow to like your new home soon, and good luck!
