If I haven't mentioned before, I'm not the best at small talk, so. Um. 

pangolin, what is it like playing the guitar, and do you play acoustic or electric? And Palm, what's it like playing the viola? I've heard it's similar to the violin.

Hi Seadragon and Palm! I'm really excited to get to know you guys :D

I play acoustic guitar for school, and I'm still very much a beginner and don't have much experience. How long have you guys been playing your instruments? What got you interested in those instruments in the first place? 

Questions: How did you find the CB & how long have you been here (if I recall correctly, Seadragon, you recently celebrated your first CBversary, yes?)? And favorite genres (either to read or write)?

I've been actively taking violin lessons for only about nine months in total, but I had one teacher who did Suzuki (basically a method of learning various instruments that involves books of sheet music arranged in a specific order) from fall 2019 until the following March, and then she decided not to continue teaching (or at least not tell us about it) after COVID became less severe. Since February, I've signed up for lessons with this person who works with the organization that teaches music at our school. I got interested in playing the violin because my grandma used to (and actually also my mom, but she isn't really as much of a music person) and it just sounds really nice if properly played.

I did recently have my first CBversary; I discovered the CB because I get Cricket and things from the CB were in the Letterbox and they seemed interesting. I'm very happy I found the CB; it's a wonderful and amazing place! 

My favorite genres to read are fantasy and mystery; I will say every single thing I've ever written has a hint of mystery to it, because mystery books are fun.

Oh cool! :D I agree -- the violin does sound really nice when properly played! 

Yes, I really like fantasy and mystery genres too, as well as sci-fi. And fantasy/mystery/adventure genres are probably my favorite to write. 
Hmm, would you guys want to play two truths and a lie? I think that might be fun?

Well, there's a two truths and a lie thread on CaC now, but we can still play here! Okay, here are mine~

1. If they didn't choose my irl name, my parents would have named me Daisy, Darcy, Rowan, or Hepsiba

2. In second grade, I dyed my hair purple without any adult supervision 

3. When I was younger (maybe 3-4), I had a really heavy NYC accent

I am also sorry for not responding!!!! I've had other things going on and haven't had time to check the CB, but here I am now. I think the lie might be 2, or maybe 3, but I'm not sure. Here are mine:

1)  My favorite stroke in swimming is breaststroke 

2) At my school, there are exactly 2 only children between the ages of 9 and 12 and I'm one of them

3) I have a cat who knows that the fabric fish I dangle in front of her are suspended from a pole with a string, and therefore just sits whenever I try to play with her.

The lie is 1! I will post a picture of my cat but I don't think I have any of her sitting and not reacting to a toy.

Aww, sorry I haven't been on Cricket, so I didn't see this. The annoying thing about viola is that everyone just assumes it's a violin. And it kind of is, but the viola is bigger, better, and can go lower than the violin. I play in the school's orchestra, and it's really fun. I forget the MaF thread! Can I have a quick recap? (sorry!)
