December MCU Questions!

December MCU Questions!

LMWAY: what's your favorite way to stay warm during the holiday season (or, if you live in a place like I do, where FOR SOME REASON it's still hot, what's a creative way to stay warm?)?

Advice Column: Midterms are coming up! Any studying/test taking advice (especially for a test that covers such a broad range of topics)?

Important Dates: do you have any important dates - national days, birthdays, holidays - that you'd like to mention?

LoTM: we're looking for submissions for your best December themed location!

Joke Column: got any December jokes for us?

and also, not to come off as pushy or anything, but we still need help with either CB or inspirational quotes (Wafflecat can do one of these), important dates, and book of the month! I'd be happy to do any of these if needed, but would also greatly appreciate it if anyone could take on any of these things? Thanks!

My favorite way to stay warm is to get in some nice, comfy PJs, with a nice, hot cup of hot cocoa while I watch TV.

My test takin' advice is to get a good nights sleep the night before, before you take the test, like when you're on your way to school, quiz yourself on just a few questions, eat a peppermint before you get to school (peppermint helps you solve problems), and take a deep breath beofre you begin.

My important dates... I don't really have any except for Christmas and New Years.

Joke Column: What do you call a pup in the snow? A chilly dog (chili dog)!

December 18, 1882 - The first performance of The Nutcracker by Pyotry Illyich Tchaikovsky, at Mariinsky Theater in St Petersburg, Russia. It was not well recieved (even Tchaikovsky thought it was worse than THe Sleeping Beauty. ("The ballet is infinitely worse than [The] Sleeping Beauty, of this I'm sure" is a quote I found.) This probably has to do with the fact that The Sleeping Beauty was the best-recieved of all of his ballets.

December 24, 1944 - William Christensen premieres the first complete version of The Nutcracker ever performed in the United States.

December 17, 1770 - Ludwig van Beethoven was baptized. (I don't think it's known when he was actually born.) Beethoven was an incredibly influential composer. He was a major contributer to the development of the Romantic style/era.

December 8, 1865 - Jean Sibelius's birthday. He's basically Finland's most famous composer, and wrote a bunch of great music such as his violin concerto, Finlandia, and seven symphonies.

I'll probably be back with more dates but this is what I have at the moment. I hope historical dates count???
